Just had the worst experience at this place. First off, the house smelled like a hole in the wall bar, stale cigarettes and cheap booze. The lady Gwen was very rude and has absolutely no professionalism. She belittled my wife, myself and our 9 year old son. I walked out within the first 10 minutes and when I did so I was masginstic because a woman was telling me what I'm doing is wrong. It has nothing to do with that. We went there for guidance and assistance on other ways to handle our dogs with their occasional behaviors. Instead of giving us tips and suggestions she just got annoyed and very condescending. While I was outside, she also made fun of my son for the way he talks. Asking him "if he has a big boy voice, because she doesn't understand baby talk." He has a speech delay and on top of being nervous talking to a new person. I would hate what she would say to a child with a mental disorder. She also said that pitbulls are trained to kill and we're lucky that our dogs didn't rip our son's face off... I don't recommend going to this place. She is a horrible person and needs to be shutdown

Gwen has been amazing! She has trained our last 5 dogs. She has taught us so much and helped us regain control of our dogs. Gwen and her team of trainers are so knowledgeable and helpful.

Horrible experience in every way. This woman should be out of business. She promised on-going support and training and calls herself a “behaviorist”…instead her intervention was a shock collar. I paid $900 cash for a consult where she smoked the entire time and abused my dog with her shock collar. I will be reporting her to the Better Business Bureau.

This would be zero stars if possible. The owner is rude, unprofessional and a complete charlatan. She promises miraculous training, only to revert to a shock collar on the first visit. She charged $900 for one session where she shocked (abused) my dog twice. She is being reported to the Better Business Bureau as we speak. Stay far away from this business.

Gwenevere Marx was AMAZING. I was referred to her with a dog I was fostering for a rescue. She was calm, patient, and very direct. She explained what she wanted and WHY. She explained the benefits for both the dog and the owner. Incredibly professional and her assistant was very helpful. I drove quite a way to get there and it was worth it. Don't get me wrong, she is no joke. She will correct you and your mistakes as much as she is correcting the dog and the behaviors... So it is a dual lesson but quite possibly the best most helpful lesson that helps your pet, your pet and the family, and you and your pet. Absolutely wonderful.

Look up Marx's Lehigh Valley Dog Training. You will Find many unfavorable reviews. I am again looking for a dog trainer after a terrible experience with this owner. I'm sad to see this woman is still traumatizing dogs and owners, not to mention the 800$ I paid her. Makes me sick to think about it.

I thought that writing this review would be a very good idea. Our German Shepherd grew up to be as Gwen put it very territorial and protective. We had to follow through and come to classes but he no longer lunges charges growls and tries to bite people that come to visit us. We can even walk him into the vet without a problem. We did have to start with using a muzzle because he wanted to rip Gwens arm off. But that was how Troy was towards everyone and every dog that he met. Several months later he is a wonderful and polite boy. We have a very high regard and how Gwen and her helpers have worked for us.

My Wife and I rescued a Labrador puppy. We were told it was a lab mix. We had absolutely no intention on bringing home a pitbull. As luck would have it that's what he grew up to be. We love him so much but became increasingly concerned about how he was acting around other animals especially dogs. I can only say that I am more than pleased with how Gwen and her staff took care of us. Our dog is so much calmer and very well-behaved in other situations as well. I definitely give her five stars. Thank you for reading.

Gwen and her assistant are amazing. I was in awe at how quickly they fixed bad behavior. My family is excited to learn more and give Maya her best life possible.

Gwen and her staff at Lehigh Valley Dog Training are fantastic. Here is our experience: In 2019 we adopted Valor, a last hour rescue from a kill shelter in Georgia. When we first got Valor, he was awesome. Sweet, playful and very loving with us. We noticed a few small "incidents " after having him for a few months.... He would get overly excited when new people would come over and "grab" them with his mouth. During COVID (and a lack of significant interaction with other people and dogs) Valor's problems compounded. We travel extensively with our dogs, and we knew that if Valor was going to be a part of our family (and there was no way we were going to give up on him) he ...well, WE needed training. My wife found Gwen and Lehigh Valley Dog Training, and scheduled for an at home visit. Gwen came with her assistant, Amber and her three GSDs. Over the course of the next three hours we learned a lot about our little guy with the big attitude. We also learned how to give him structure so he could be a happy dog. Dog training isn't a one and done fix. Although our at home session was a great start, Valor needed work. Luckily Gwen has a weekly class available for all of her past clients. We've been attending weekly classes for almost 8 months now, and the progress that Valor has made is spectacular. We are currently visiting my in-laws and their new rescue dog. Unfortunately Scooter (in-laws dog) is quite dog reactive. The great news is that although Scooter is dog reactive, Valor remembered his training and was a perfect gentleman, displaying no signs of reactivity back. To finish up: 1. Do you and your dog need training? 2. Does your dog have behavioral issues? If so I highly recommend Gwen and her staff!!! Be forewarned, they don't wave a magic wand and fix your issues. You have to be committed, go to training , put the work in and want to have your fur-baby live the happy life that they deserve.

SCAM this woman told me $600 to train my puppy and at the end of the conversation was $640 and never train my puppy when I asked for my money be return she refused it because the service was rendered. I asked what service she said 200 for training, $400 for behaviorist, $20 for the chock colar, and $20 for the chain . I have a Pinsky (pitbull and husky) so she said my puppy is going to have behavior problems down the road because she have pitbull on her. The whole time she was criticizing my puppy, the training she is talking about is that I when outside with an apprentice and walked about 10 feet as then she said my puppy didn’t have no manners that was the training. I got this person because my coworker told me about it and I trust what he said but here I am $640 down, no training and she is going to continue to scam more people but I am not going to play around with this I would contact the police will sue her if she doesn’t return my money

I want EVERYONE to see this review i WOULD GIVE HER A 0 STARS IF POSSIBLE i have never completed a review of any business in my entire life and i was so pissed off at this owner GWENEVERE MARX after my conversation with her most of the time when i get a review for a business i never fill them out because of how crazy busy my life is but i am taking the time to write this because of how disgusted i was with her and i don't want anyone to have to pay $600 for SHITTY TRAINING i hired her for multiple things but my utter most important thing is i wanted my dog to stop getting out of his crate and biting the metal bars because he was breaking his teeth off. So i hired her because she said and i quote " Their is multiple techniques i can try with him" "all you have to do is continue the crate training with him multiple times a week" so i have been training him the way she thought me to and this comes with free dog classes with other dogs but never did she say i have to take him to classes if i want the issue fixed i missed 3 weeks because of a death in the family and vacation and she has the nerve to tell me that she did say that and say "well i didn't see you at class Sunday " i had plans and now i have spent $600 for training and + $500 to replace everything that my dog has damaged. after i confronted her asking if their is something els i could do she said no and we tried 1 option not multiple like she originally said. when i asked for my money back because the main thing i wanted done was not fixed after 1 year of training she said it doesn't work like that you idiot. DONT PAY THIS IT IS TERRAIBLE TRAINING DIDNT WORK FOR THE MAIN THING I NEEDED FIXED ON MY DOG PLEASE DONT USE THIS WOMAN I HOPE SHE GOES OUT OF BUISNESS

Almost 2 months ago I adopted a 12 lb. rescue dog who's 2 years old. His previous owners let him live on & off the streets & it appears that someone was abusive towards him. The first day I brought him home he nipped at a family member in the finger. After that we had a couple of incidents but nothing major. Then two weekends ago he bit the same family member in the face which required stitches. My dog was reported & was placed on a 10 day in house quarantine. I immediately started looking for a dog behaviorist and/or trainer. I found Gwenevere Marx of Lehigh Valley Dog Training. Her website is incredibly vague & doesn't really explain the methods she uses for good reason. If she said she would physically and aggressively yank your pet around then you would probably think twice before calling her. Unfortunately for me I sent her a message & she called me back the following day. She asked me some questions & then told me for her services it would be $900. That would include the in home 3 hr consultation, 1 on 1 training for the entire family (4 people), unlimited calls/texts/emails, in home visits, & training sessions every Sunday in a local park which turned out to be 30 minutes away from where I live. She seemed knowledgeable & I was desperate to find someone to help. I scheduled the appt & she came a few days later with her assistant. She arrived 5 minutes late which wasn't a huge problem but when paying such a large sum of money you would hope the professional would arrive early if not on time. She came in & talked to me about animal behavior for 30 minutes & then the training began. She hands me a prong collar, explains how it works & how to put it on the dog. She instructs me to place it on him, place him in his crate, attach a lead to his prong collar, lock the crate & hand the attached lead to her. She then says that once he makes a sound such as a bark she will "pop" the collar & say quiet. Of course, my dog starts barking & as promised she POPPED the collar. When she did that, she did it with such force that my dog was yanked to the top of the crate. She did this another 2 times & he stopped barking. She says with excitement see your dog is the perfect candidate for this training. I should have stopped her right then but I was DESPERATE & thought she was a professional who knew what she was talking about. Throughout the appt she took 3 10-minute breaks & left me with her assistant who did & said absolutely nothing the entire time. After the appt was over & I wrote her the check they left. I sat on my couch wondering if I could actually inflict these "methods" on my dog. Could I also teach my boyfriend and his two kid these methods? The answer was NO. I contacted Gwenevere the following day letting her know that I wouldn't be requiring her services and explained why. I asked her what the cost of the consultation appt was since I wouldn't be requiring her other services. She explained that the $900 was for the consultation alone & the other services where complimentary to all her clients. I couldn't believe that she was telling me that her charging hourly rate is $300. That's when I knew I had been duped. She didn't care about my dog or me. She wanted the quickest results that she could show me in the quickest amount of time, get the money & GO. Not only was I still left with a dog who had some serious issues but now I was out $900 that I could have used on someone who could have helped my dog and family. After doing my research I learned that her methods are seriously outdated & most professionals no longer use these methods because it's been shown in research that meeting aggression with aggression is only placing a band aid on the real problem. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND A REAL PROFESSIONAL!!!! It's worth noting that this business goes by MANY different names: Lehigh Valley Dog Training, Lehigh Valley Dog Training and Behavior, Marx's Lehigh Val
