I had scheduled an online appointment with Jennifer at 8am for 4/12 not realizing that this location does not open until 9am. However, H&R Block online let me schedule this as an open appointment time. I was lucky enough to walk in and be greeted by Janet who happened to be in early to catch up on paperwork. Janet took my return and filed everything for me even though they weren't open yet and I did not have a simple return.
Janet was wonderful and had me laughing during the whole appointment.

I will start with the positive, everyone we interacted with at H&R Block was nice.
Now onto the negative, when we got our 2022 taxes done by H&R Block, we went into the office and sat with an associate, good thing we sat there and watched them complete the forms because they were entering my name with my husband's social (multiple times) so we were able to catch that. After our taxes were filed, we realized there was a mistake and we had to file an amendment. H&R Block completed that amendment and we signed it all before tax day and were told that the money we owe to the IRS would come out on tax day. The money never came out for a few months and the IRS website said an amendment could take up to 20 weeks to process, so we called H&R Block to confirm it was filed and they said it was. We continued to wait, but they money still wasn't coming out so I called the IRS and they said they don't have any amendment on file for us. I then called H&R Block and they realized that they never filed it back in April when they said they did, so they filed that day (in October) and the money we owed the IRS was taken out shortly thereafter. That associate that we talked to that actually filed the amendment (which was different than the first associate) said we should not receive any penalties or fines. Well, we were surprised when we got a letter from the IRS saying there was a fine and interest for paying late. At that point we called the IRS because we would rather deal with them then H&R Block. The IRS was able to abate the fine, but not the interest. So we then called H&R Block about paying that interest for us since they have the H&R Block guarantee. They kept putting us off and giving us excuses. They said they would send us a check but it would take months before we see it. Luckily it didn't take long at all.
Another thing to add, every time H&R Block was supposed to call us back, they kept calling my husband's mother (which I have no idea how they got that number because we never gave it to them). We kept confirming what number they were going to call us back at, but they kept calling the wrong one.
Overall, biggest headache and caused a lot of anxiety. Even though they will be paying us back for the interest, it should have never gotten to that point. Will not use them in the future.

Mike was very thorough and explained every step pleasant experience but the service was a bit pricey.

If i could give zero stars I would. Very unorganized and led me on for over a month. Didnt det my taxes filed by the deadline and even charged me upfront then asked for more documents etc.. reginal manager refunded me set me up witha different woman. She took over two weeks to call and on the last day to file, called me finally and was not able to get the extension filed in time.. no kidding. Thanks for costing me 5000dollar fine from the irs.
