About Ricketts Glen State Park

Ricketts Glen State Park is a beyond beautiful place known for its spectacular and amazing waterfalls, with 21 falls along the Falls Trail. This gorgeous hike showcases pinnacle nature, offering breathtaking views and unobstructed views of all the waterfalls. The trail features many steep stairs, narrow ledges, and a lot of steps, making some areas challenging for seniors, small children, or those not accustomed to hiking. It is considered a moderate challenge, interesting enough for most but with hazardous sections, especially when wet or icy. Proper gear like good hiking boots and walking sticks is recommended. The park is dog-friendly on trails and at the campground's Small Loop, though dogs must be able to handle steep stairs and narrow ledges. The campground offers spacious, private sites with clean, heated, and well-stocked restrooms. Visitors should be aware that black bears are absolutely present in the area, including the campground. The Falls Trail is closed in winter without proper ice experience, as conditions can be dangerous. Cell service is strong in the camping area but spotty on lower trails. It is a must-see for photography and hiking, requiring at least three hours to explore, with parking lot toilets available.
