Amazing service!!! No wonder they got all great reviews! I just moved to town and ended up with a nail in my tire over the weekend. They couldn't get me in on Monday when I called so they opened a little early to squeeze me in on Tuesday. Super nice man (I wish I got his name). Smiling while talking to me and he didn't jerk me around at all like most mechanics do. I wasn't expecting such an amazing price to plug it up either. In and out in less than a half hour. The service was way above the actual dealership. My husband and I found our new "go to" spot with our new cars.

I greatly appreciate the integrity John and Karen show whenever I need their service. My car dealership told me my battery needed to be changed asap. I chose not to have them do it. Today I stopped and told John. He was kind enough to check it for me. It still has enough power for another year or two. His honesty is awesome.

The first time they did a safety inspection on my wife's Jeep a few years ago, they missed a huge crack in the front suspension , which caused a wheel to break straight off as we pulled out of a parking space. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because other mechanics told me it wouldn't be unusual to miss that on an inspection. They also agreed to fix it pretty quickly, after we had it towed there. Fast forward to last week, this time my 2013 Rav4 with 130k miles that's been pretty well maintained was overdue for a tire rotation. They performed it at no charge. Immediately, a loud noise is audible at lower speeds and coming to a stop. Not a seized caliper, and too coincidental with timing of rotation. I assumed it could be a balancing issue. I also made sure it wasn't anything silly like lugs not being tightened all the way. Decided to call them and ask if they could take a look, since it's reasonably possible they caused the issue. I told them I'd pay a diagnostic fee even if I thought they may have done something. We are a one vehicle family and I've been racking up miles since I started a second job delivering food. I got a callback where the woman at the front desk told me "we don't diagnose things here", added that the shop was closing for a week for a family vacation, and then tried to steer me to another garage. What kind of licensed PA inspection station doesn't diagnose mechanical problems? Especially if they may be responsible? You're telling me if I am going to fail inspection they wouldn't try to find out why? Or know how to check their own work? Before this tire rotation, I had my annual inspection done there and requested regular interval maintenance, which would be lube, oil, filter change and a tire rotation. When I picked the car up, I was shocked at their price increases. I paid basically the same amount I would have at the Toyota dealership, and they tell me they didn't even rotate the tires! I'm no mechanic but I know tires should be rotated with each interval service. If you're just going to only accept cake (brake jobs and oil changes) don't bother keeping your inspection license. Nobody should trust these people, no matter how friendly they might be. There's a reason they have competitors right across the street who have been doing it much longer and never had to sweat Bangor Tire and Auto coming into town. I used to take my car to the dealership, even for regular maintenance. They are expensive. I heard people talk about how affordable this place is, and how nice they are as people. Unfortunately, that's not enough to run a good shop. They're also no more affordable than any other independent shop in the area, any more.

I've been going to Bangor Tire and Auto for years now, always honest, always reasonable, and they never do any service that isn't needed, unlike other shops in the area.
