Bob's Affordable Painting Since 1991 LLC, I was in the area doing a Contract but the house had no electric on a hot day no less, so I purchased a battery operated fan and luckily Ace Hardware had one in stock ?

Went to return an item costing me $10.00. Was told I couldn't return it even though it was still in the package it came in. Thirty day return policy just cost them a pretty good customer. Am doing over a home nearby and will boycott Ace Hardware.

I just moved to the area, and we are doing multiple house renovations. I need to go to ACE multiple times a weeks, which means I’m spending quite a bit of money each time I go. Everyone in the store is super helpful and kind, except for one employee. Erica is literally the RUDEST, unprofessional employee I have ever came into contact with. The first time I came into contact was it her, I just assumed she was having a bad day, and ignored it. But after she continued to be rude, have some nasty attitude and this resting B face, I had enough. She doesn’t bag my items, expecting me to take a large order and throw it back into my cart unless I ask for the bag myself, and when I do, she rolls her eyes and does some little scoff. It has happened every time since. My boyfriend thought I was just exaggerating the situation, so the next time we needed things, he came too. It was even worse the day he came along, that I literally had to walk out of the store and have him finish the purchase. I don’t normally allow things like this to bother me, but it’s like she only does it when I’m in the store, because on two separate occasions, during a purchase she has said to two different men “what’s up trouble” & “oh hi sweetheart!” Both in some flirtatious way. During my transactions. Like where is the professionalism here? Maybe it’s females or her own insecurities around other women that bother her, but that is absolutely no excuse for the way she treats customers in the store. If she can’t be professional, friendly, or do her job properly, she simply should not work there. She is almost always the cashier when I go to the store, and it makes me extremely uncomfortable to have to be in the position she continues to put me in when I go into the Bangor store. I’d go elsewhere if it wasn’t two minutes down the road from my home. I shouldn’t have to switch the store I attend because of this employees attitude and I unprofessional behavior.

Always have what you need, prices a little high, quality (ace brand) is mediocre. But there's a lot of useful stuff there, like bear traps. Those are fun.

Every time I go for a special/sale item they are already sold out. I went early today to the Bangor pa store and the bird seed I wanted that was on sale was all ready gone. They never have enough of what’s on sale. I’m going to shop at my local nursery for bird seed from now on. I’m going to avoid the big box stores.

Excellent service - even when it became clear we really had no idea what part we needed. Surprising selection too - far more than you expect from a "hardware" store.

Well stocked, helpful, but sometimes they think if you're a woman, you can't possibly know what you're looking for in here. I took interior design and architecture and have 20 years plus experience around spackling, paint, flooring, even plumbing, etc. I know quite a bit and have worked with bits in my very own compact drill. Imagine that. Lol, I think I know how to spot the right package of screws for my heavy mollies. Thanks. (Probably just the attitude of one person in the whole place anyhow.) All in all, it's a nice Ace. They've got most of what you'll need. Now, the Ace in Broadheadsville is an utter nightmare.
