I don't recommend stopping here.Avoid if possible.The tavern for the patrons is alright. The people who operate and run the entire location lose my respect and business.

This place is a little slice of heaven, in what they call “God’s country”. Traveling through for work, this place caught my eye so I stopped. Walking in reminded me of a place back home, country, old fashioned, wooden floors and all. I checked around at all the neat things, and grabbed a scoop of Perry’s ice cream, then sat out front enjoying the fresh mountain air.Sadly I was driving, but if I wasn’t, I would have enjoyed a cold beer in the “basement”, darn!Anywho, if you’re rolling through 827 in beautiful Potter County, you should definitely stop by for some ice cream, or more!

Pretty good store. Owner is very friendly. Mostly fishing gear and souvenirs. Ice cream is also served. Pretty good place to stop if you need fishing gear, ice cream, or souvineirs.

Perfect place to stop for gas, last minute groceries, and fishing gear. They also offer hand-dipped ice cream and tasty cheese cut straight from the wheel. Wharton General Store is the perfect quick stop shop.
