I am living in Berlin, Germany and although it takes a while until the books by Schiffer Publishing arrive at my local bookstore for pickup, sometimes up to two months, I was never disappointed when I finally got them, although I have to admit that for this review, I am only referring to the books by Bunny Yeager, a famous model and later model photographer from the 1950s – 1960s. Despite their long way to my hometown and the long waiting time I therefore have for those, the books do always arrive in excellent condition, despite having no foliage put around them, which means that the staff seems to take extra care for every single book, and I cannot complain about the actual quality of the books either. Alright, some of the books, like “Femmes Fatales of the 1950s”, contain Black & White pictures, despite the fact that I know Bunny Yeager did originally shoot those in color, yet as the books were published while she was still alive, I guess it was her decision and not a decision made by Schiffer Publishing. From my point of view and my experience I have with Schiffer Publishing so far, I can only say that you guys are doing absolutely great. I just have one wish for you, of which I am sure that you want to fulfill this one: Please do not get bought by any kind of whatever big book company and stay independent as you always have been for over 50 years already!

I ordered a tarot deck in May 2021. After waiting over 5 months with not a single word on my order, I emailed to ask what was up. I was told that the item was on backorder and they had no delivery date. I decided that I would prefer my money back. That is where the ghosting began. I was told that it was in process. For over a month. What?? If you don't mind giving away your money with no return, by all means order from Schiffer!

They took my money in May and have yet to deliver my order. I haven't heard a word as to why I am STILL waiting. Wow!

I enjoy their choice of material, and the location is beautiful, but I’m a little bummed that they were not open during regular business hours, and were not open to discussing purchasing a book I drove an hour to get. I would’ve gladly given you my cc info and you could’ve slid it under the door.It was a pleasant trip, and the weather was perfect, so not a total loss.

Honestly, we drive around the grounds here to admire the artwork. They have sculptures that make you feel like a kid again. And before you know it your standing next to a deer, the tortious and the hare, or an entire band getting your picture taken. Those who work here must have a ball in their lunch hour!

Please make sure that you understand that when you work with a publisher - any publisher - you give your rights away to your own book.

I am really blown away by the awesome customer service of this publisher. I bought a deck of cards they published and realized that I was missing a couple cards. The deck was too expensive to repurchase so I thought why not contact the publisher. I emailed Schiffer and the next business day, I received a response. The cards I was missing were in the mail within 24 hours, no charge. Absolutely wonderful customer service! I won't hesitate to buy more products that Schiffer produces. Thank you!

I still love Schiffer's books as much as ever (and I've been a customer since nearly their inception) - but customer service is a big deal to me (whether it's a company, a restaurant, a store or whatever) and I'm lowering my rating because of the lousy customer service I've recently encountered. I'd realized that I hadn't received an e-mail for a long time re: Schiffer's newest books, so I'd e-mailed them a few months ago and never received a response (strike one). I finally got around to calling today, and the woman who I spoke to in Customer Service was very UNfriendly. As an aside, she explained that they delete people from their e-mail list if you haven't ordered (directly) from Schiffer for a certain amount of time. I've been ordering the books from Amazon or B&N, for obvious financial reasons - but I wouldn't *know* about Schiffer's newest books if I didn't receive notification (therefore I've periodically looked at their web site - but I shouldn't have to do that, and it's not like it costs Schiffer anything to keep me on their e-mail list [!]). Anyway; I'm back on the e-mail list (for however long), but I can't ignore the lousy customer service.
