I need to post a negative rating, one star is not terrible enough! My son had an accident in December 2022. A pick ran a red light at 45 MPH and hit his Nissan Rogue totaling the car and causing injury to his neck, shoulder, and spine. For 8 months he has participated in physical therapy, has had 3 X-rays, 3 MRIs and bloodwork. He has seen 2 doctors (yes those arrogant, compassionate members of the medical field) and is in great pain. He received a call on Monday, July 31st, that he may have a spinal infection and several of his vertebrae are severely damaged. He saw a doctor at “Elite Medical” yesterday and this medical professional didn’t look at the MRIs and asked why he was there. He didn’t listen to my son and disregarded his pain. My son has declined pain meds and muscle relaxers because he has tried to work while in pain.Today he was driving and his back locked up and he passed out running his car into a parking meter, with our dog in the car. I called 911 for police and AMED. Police gave him a field sobriety tests even though he had pain in his back. He passed all tests and went to UPMC with AMED. I have had a bad experience with AMED myself. The tech tried to get him to admit he was drunk or high. He did admit to having a tobacco vape in his pocket after the Tech said “this is just between you and me”. As soon as they entered the “hospital, the tech stopped a policeman and told him my son had a vape. Why? The policeman said to not use it on the campus. The “doctor” at the ER would not even look at previous tests. He ordered bloodwork and urinalysis, again not LISTENING to why he wanted to be seen. He was treated like a criminal. He is 36 years old, clean cut, hard working young man. My family is so disallusioned with AMED and UPMC ER, that we will DRIVE our loved ones to Roaring Spring in the future if we are in need of medical attention. I hope someone treats their family members in such a callous manner SOON.

Extortion at best. Call an Uber instead much cheaper and you know the price upfront.

AMED all the way! I called 9-1-1 because I stubbed my toe and they were there within seconds because they are the most skilled drivers I have ever met! Amazing work! Keep it up guys and gals!

Excellent service, very professional healthcare providers. The most courteous drivers ever to step behind the wheel.

Vehicle 433 was observed traveling in excess of 80 mph in a 55 mph zone, with no lights, tailgating drivers aggressively. When they finally pushed passed me, they slowed just enough for both of them to stare me down before speeding off again. I called it in, but the woman on the phone sounded very dismissive and from the other reviews, I'd venture a guess that they really don't care.

My husband was not given a choice when taken via ambulance from med Express to upmc altoona. Amed showed up and transported him the 3 miles to the hospital. We were insured with United healthcare that sent payment following the transport that was accepted by Amed. Apparently $600 from insurance wasn't enough for transport and United isn't in network. We're being billed $1400. We have a claim open with United, and have contacted Brenda in Amed's billing department to place a 30 day hold on the bill while insurance tries the claim again. Its been 2 weeks and we've received 2 more bills - the last stating collection notice. Shame on you Amed. You gladly cashed the check from United and continue to want more. I know the medics aren't getting $300/ a piece.. or gas was $600 let alone a grand total of 2,000$. I know if we were medicaid we'd have no bill. Sad world we live in....
