Used to be a decent place around 1995 to 02 maybe longer. Just kind of a warehouse to get people in and out. Way better than jail, but I would never go voluntarily.

I was a patient on Unit 1 from April - May 2023. I was taught more here than any facility I’ve ever been in. The staff was great, they showed me a ton of grace and taught me a lot. The nurses are kind and will help you as much as possible during detox if you are respectful and act accordingly. Your area is as clean as you keep it tbh and the food was good for being mass produced! Today I am going on 6 months clean and and a father to my little girl. I don’t see myself here without WDR LOVE and RESPECT ❤️

I see so many horrible reviews about people's recovery... but they can't do everything for you... thats literally not the way recovery works... is this place perfect? No by any means... but I was in White Deer in 2021... it was my first & last time ever in a rehab after getting high since 2015... and I've been clean ever since... they helped me tremendously... and also because I understand not to put all the pressure on their shoulders for my own recovery... that I too need to carry some of that on my shoulders... was there some staff I didn't like? Yeah, but I got along with a lot more staff than what I didn't... I'm born and raised in Jersey and now I actually live in the town over from White Deer Run in Allenwood... married with a dog lol I always run into some of the staff like Lou and we always talk and they always tell me how proud they are of seeing me being clean... I always recommend for folks to come here...

edit: It's been like 4 years since I wrote this review and I've been sober since.-Just graduated from here today.. really pleasant experience. What I can tell you is I was equipped with the structure, tools and knowledge to start my journey into recovery. The staff were great and the facility itself is clean and well-kept. And despite my quiet nature I managed to make quite a few friends who I'll keep up with.I guarantee negative reviews are MOSTLY from patients who were forced/court-mandated to be here or haven't been to other rehabs, because it's paradise compared to the places I've been.

The place was okay not too bad but they do need to do work on getting counselors and learn how to really work on Recovery bc each day that I was there they didn't know what to make us do and what to have us work on it was like the blind leading the blind I learned more on my own and other older addicts then I did from the staff . The kitchen staff was great I learned a lot from them and working with them each day I was there if it wasn't for some other clients and the kitchen staff I probably would of left that place after the first week and I got to thank Unit 3 Melissa S and Tierney and Sam and Ashley and Gino and Mrs. Kris and Jeff wheeler for all there help and time they gave me and help me with my Recovery and Jake and Gary and Will and Rob and MRS. Linda at night for always being there and helping me and having great talks and teaching me new things. Mr. Ken for always waking me up in the morning so I could make the coffee ☕. And work the kitchen and too my best and loving crazy but funny hard working nurses Cassie and Brooke for being such great nurses. MRS. Amber for teaching me the beauty of Art and Finally to my Kitchen family for letting me work and proving myself as a hard worker and dedicated client who loved to help people and put smiles on people faces everyday just want to Thank each and everyone of you who works so hard in the kitchen Jamal Vic Michelle Bryan Laurel and Cal. My kitchen family I miss you guys already Like I said I wouldn't mind maybe working in the kitchen one day back at allenwood white deer run Thank you all each and everyone of you ill definitely miss this place and will never forget the great people I met here and maybe one day I could work at this great place it's definitely a place you can call your second home it's a home away from home .

White deer run changed my life. Entering treatment I was skeptical and thought it would be no help for me. I was completely wrong. If you go to white deer run and you truly want to get clean and change your life, you will find no better place. Zavon, crystal, nick, Alex, Lou and everyone on unit 1 were amazing and did everything possible to help any and everyone who truly wanted help. This a great program. I’ll forever be grateful for this program and it giving me my life back. Love and respect unit 1. BLUE BANDS!

I was there in the in 1996. I met some good people & even stayed in touch with a couple of guys for awhile, one died of an overdose & the other guy Tony just vanished. White dear run was a great place & it was no fault of the place just the addiction I loved white deer run. Now it is 2023 & I now have 1 year & 3 months clean & I live in Dayton Ohio. I was at the Allenwood location, it was beautiful there. I'll never forget the place. Thanks White deer. Run, ,you were part of my process.

I would have gave 5 stars but the facilities are actually pretty dirty and the food isn't that good. But the reason I went there was to get help and my gosh did I get help my counselor Teresa Lynn was unbelievable she worked with me with my dual diagnosis. I have some real difficult mental health issues and she was unbelievable I can't say enough good things about her I'm actually speechless. Every single one of the techs made sure I was safe Bill R. opened my eyes to many things and the program itself I can't thank him enough. And the unit one supervisor Lou went above and beyond to make sure if I needed to get to an actual hospital things were already in place. But it didn't come to that because of all the help I was getting the brotherhood in which I received there and was a part of is second to none. It is ultimately up to you and how bad you want it I built life long relationships and can't wait for alumni day . If you want to get clean this is the place to go absolutely hands down the place to go.UPDATE UPDATE !!!Still clean and happy Thanks again WDR!!

Hi everyone,I left WDR in 2014 I’ve been clean and sober going on 9 God willing years. I lived in Hazleton and after going through many rehabs, I finally listened to your counselor advice. I left Allenwood and started living in York Pa. I started working in the field after my first year. I went from tech, to CRS, to going back to get my bachelor’s degree. I have been a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for the past 4 years. I just want to say, without your program I would not be writing this today.
