I can beat Costco prices in a NY moment. I really do not see the savings buying bulk items. I saw savings buying gas. I was not impressed by Sam's club the same way. You have to pick and choose what you buy and know your prices of the local smaller stores. I did like the trying products (samples) out that were new to me. They were too expensive in some cases I can prepare food as fast as you can reheat it

I enjoy shopping at Costco. The variety of products is always excellent. However, the majority of the employees act disgruntled. Bad attitude and quick to snap. I work in customer service and if you don’t like your job then leave. I understand it can get hectic with the volume of people, but at least try to not act miserable.

Great store contains many items in a variety of areas. Caution: Some items have great competitive prices, and some cost more than the local "smaller" stores. If you are a good consumer and shop around, you will find many bargains. From Pharmacy, to printers to ink and paper to food, from summer & spirts gurniture to clothing, Costco has a great variety of discount products.

Update* from my 5/30/2024 shopping trip.
On June 3, 2024, I returned two cases of nectarines at $12.99, that were probably methane gassed and shipped from MX pre mature and tasted tart, interior stingy pulp and not pleasing to the palate, so, we returned them along with the package of unripened apricots. No problem.
So, entered the warehouse floor to purchase a few items, checkout with JOE, the total purchase was ~$43, presented the cashier with a $50 COSTCO GIFT CARD and cashier wouldn’t ACCEPT IT and summoned the supervisor because he didn’t know the rules on the gift card use.
Ok, a dark haired woman listened to my issue and addressed it by telling me to USE THE GIFT CARD TO PURCHASE A NEW MEMBERSHIP! That’s what they are for!! I answered her that purchasing a new membership was not my intent. HER THREE MENTIONS OF PURCHASING A NEW MEMBERSHIP and me explaining to her the gift card presentation was to pay for my items.
I asked to speak to a manager, Ryan, the FE manager arrived and intervened by telling JOE to process the purchase.
Thank you Ryan for following the COSTCO gift card guidelines.
I’m not sure why Joe, the cashier, didn’t know the gift card guidelines and the associate who mentioned she’s a supervisor didn’t know the Costco gift card guidelines.
WHY aren’t these EMPLOYEES ON THE SAME PAGE.??
Anyhow, won’t renew my membership because it’s not worth it as what I purchased in a year didn’t not constitute the $60 membership fee.

Lately it’s been a downgraded experience. Angry employees yelling at customers for no reason at the self checkout line and customer service lines have been abysmal. Probably no gonna renew the membership anymore after going here for many years.

I have found better deals on some of my prescriptions, vitamin supplements, allergy OTC meds, their brand paper towels and toilet paper. There are many items it pays to get in larger amounts because the price per item is a very good deal. Depends on your needs and space for storage.
