Old white hair man at deli counter, huffing and puffing at the line of people waiting for him. Maybe if he moved faster he wouldn't have 7ppl waiting for him. A lesson in customer service should be taken. And a rat scurried across the floor when I came in near packing tape

In the past, I enjoyed shopping at BJs. While they still have good prices on many items including gas, the customer service in their Stroudsburg store continues to go downhill. They just don't have enough employees to do the job. There is usually a line at customer service. Its hard to find an employee to ask where items are. Today, I stopped for a few things on my way home and there was only 1 cashier working and I used the self checkout which also had a line, but shorter. After scanning my items and paying, I tried to leave, but there was a long line waiting so the 1 employee could check out receipts. There were at least 6 carts and I tried to leave, but was stopped, she took my receipt and wouldn't return it. She asked if she should call a manager and I told her to, but she didn't because "she was doing her job." I realize she is doing her job, but I had done the job of a cashier scanning my own order, paying and was then expected to wait 15 minutes to have my cart checked to make sure I was stealing anything. I've been there in the past and when busy they had 2 or, sometimes, 3 people checking receipts. I know it wasn't that woman's fault and I was giving her a hard time, but ask for help, report problems to management. This store was very pleasant to shop in when they first opened. I hope they address their customer service issues!

We have a Sam's club membership but got a deal with BJ's, $10. for the year. What the heck, give it a try. I still prefer Sams club for the prices but get frustrated because they will discontinue selling certain items after some time. Not sure, maybe BJ's does the same thing. Probably won't renew next year

Got my tires rotated the kid sat on the phone with his girlfriend on speaker the ENTIRE transaction, young kid and then rotated my tires and left them with no air. All my lights turned on. Rudest customer service ever. Never in life I had to had someone do that. Hearing all my personal information. And then her proceeded to talk to her like if I was Interrupting there private conversation !! Never again!

I would give it 4.5 stars, the only downfall is that you need a receipt for returns AND the original pricetags, unlike Costco that you need neither one since all purchases are tracked through your membership card.but meats are fresh as well as deli items are fresh and keep longer then most store delis..I like BJ'S alot! Been a member since they opened 20yrs ago!

I got a membership because Bj's have unique items that you can't find at the other wholesale clubs at a reasonable price. It's a great bargain if you get a membership when Bjs have their promos which is 50% off annual membership which amounts to $25! Despite Covid-19, BJ's employees don't wipe the carts. It's a DYI process. Once you enter the store, there is station and an employee who has a tray of wipes on a plastic tray for customers to pick up and wipe their own carts. You take a napkin and wipe your cart. A few likes: - The store has more holidays / Xmas stuff during the holiday season (for outdoor decorations - Costco has more options) than the other wholesale clubs and you can find some cute stuff there like Xmas cards, ornaments, stockings, cookies, chocolate and gift baskets. - For bargain savvy parents, I think their baby section is bigger and have a varied of products compared to other wholesale clubs. BJs sell both Huggies and Pampers diapers and baby wipes. My only qualm is they don't carry the Pamper Pure line. - I am a big fan of their bakery for this particular location. I really like the craftsmanship of their cakes. It's very well done and pretty. Though I've never ordered a cake from here but I might in the future. I also like how they have small Danish pastries and croissants ! It's the perfect for small snacks and parties! They sell Junior cheesecake from NY! If you haven't had a chance to try their infamous cheesecake then you can always grab a small cake here. No other wholesale clubs sells Junior Cheesecake in their bakery. - They have better snacks and they sell boxes of Lays chips among other snacks. They also have a $7 for two large party size bags of chips! A few dislikes: - During the last visits, I think they had on the heat too high, I always felt stuffy and can't wait to leave. - The layout of this store should be redesigned. Felt like walking in a maze and it's not seamless. Hard to describe but I've been to different Costco's and Sam's Club, both stores were easier to navigate. - The bathroom was not clean often enough. Last visit, some customers threw used toilet paper and a pad on the floor inside one of the stalls. It was disgusting. They should put a bigger garbage pail inside each stall. Bjs have weekly or monthly sales, depends on the product. Some items requires a member to clip coupons either from their account online or on the app. Once you clip the coupons for the items you want to purchase, the items will be automatically deducted during checkout once the employee scan your membership card during checkout.

Well, I have has a sense of loyalty to BJS since I got a membership the first week they opened over 20 years ago, so I tend to go there even though it is a bit dirtier and uglier than Sam's or Costco, both of which r nearby. They had a Black Friday sale and I bought a 20 gun gun safe. Well. It seems they had a workmen's comp injury on loading one of these safes some time ago so instead of setting it up so one could load off their loading dock or getting more guys to do it the just said no. Ok. So I went home and got a friend and a cable come-along to pull it up on my truck. However, I had to have the safe standing up on the cart instead of laying down which was how the one they gave me was, so I could lean it against the tailgate and pull it up in. They couldn't be bothered to use a forklift to stand it up, or even to take one that was standing up and switch my paperwork to it!!!!! It seems the people in the back who run the lift truck just want to sit on their butt in the back office staring at a computer. It took me 20 minutes to even get their attention and even then it was about my not being supposed to be in the back and not how can I help you. It seems that these guys have decided that BJs will no longer be there soon so why do they need to do anything. I have not seen this level of service since living in Communist China in the early 80's. So I got my money back and ended my membership. If you r smart you will join Sams club, which has good customer service. Notice I didn't say Costco?

For the love of god and your frustration stay away from their online tire sales to be installed in club. I ordered tires to be installed 4-6 hrs later that day was sent a reply email part of the order was on back order as soon as I found this out tried to cancel the order. By the way they charged my card with my appointment day's away. 7 hours or more on the phone over 3 days. Called store and multiple customer care numbers, their go to is to keep transferring you to different people and putting you on hold until you are fed up. Over 1 hour today and hopefully finally cancelled. Crossing my fingers not a lot of faith. Store told me they couldn't cancel online orders a manager named tony at the Allentown store over the phone. I would cancel my membership if not for gas prices, long time bjs member. This system is broken in my opinion, if you value your time and sanity stay away from online and tire department.

For the most part the store is always stocked and clean, the employees are ok, and the prices are good on most items. Deli prices are better than most places but they don't have a huge selection and the prices on the produce are usually a bit higher. The check out lines are pretty quick because, unlike many store, they keep almost all of them open and the self check out has hand scanners, which make things much easier and faster. Overall, I like this store.

2 minutes ago I Went to this store today like I always do every month since I've been a member for many years. As me and my wife walked into the store we were turning into the isle and this man approached my wife telling her to get f$&@ out of his way and telling my wife to go back to her Country. We were speechless and couldn't even figured out why he was attacking my wife. I asked the man what his problem and he just kept yelling at me saying go back to your Country and that we weren't welcome here. In addition he blocked the exit not allowing access for me and my wife to leave and kept telling me to come at him. At that point we walked away and asked to speak to the manager. The manager witness and heard the guy screaming thru the whole store and the manager did tell the man to leave the store and apologize to me and my wife. He didn't bother calling the police nor taking the man information to ban him from the store and revoked his membership after harassing customers just for being Hispanics. At that point my daughter arrived at the store and we spoke to the manager suzie H about her obtaining the information from the individual and asked her if she even bother calling the police and she couldn't answered any of my daughters or myself questions. This place is in need of real leadership and better training so people could shop at this place without being harassed or liable just because of the person ethnicity, religion, race or believes. This is a free Country and we all should be treated the same.

I received a membership renewal in the mail, and immediately called the number on back of my card to discontinue my membership. I was assured in early June that my membership was cancelled. Customer service never followed through, nor did they document my call. Then I received a late fee, stating that I owed the $100.00 membership. I called again, and this time they documented my contact, again they assured me that the situation was resolved, and that I would be reimbursed. Then Commenity Bank called to ask me why I was overdue on paying this. Call # 3, this time I requested a manager, who also complied with my request to contact the bank representative, so that the 3 of us could discuss. Half an hour later, (Being interrogated) I was assured that this is resolved. Wow, what a scam! Imagine if every 5th person is harassed like this and gives in, paying the membership, how many 10's of thousands of dollars can be made...? Shame on them!

Sadly I've been a member for many many years. This location however is very poor. For the most part the employees couldn't be bothered. But worse then that when you do try to get assistance I have found them to be rude or worse. So the last time was the straw. I have been simply trying to find out when a certain product will be available. It's a pot sticker product that is only available when they do a sample/showcase. So I ask about it and it's like they get offended that I am trying to get them to reveal some high corporate secret. The last time I called it was the charm. I called and was told they could t tell me if it was in the store that day. Got that? They aren't told if it's in the store as we spoke. So the women I was talking to reluctantly transferred to someone else who said they really didn't know. She put me on hold so she could find out and she never came back tot the phone. Now compare that to the Quaker town location that is always helpful. This location for the most part is a joke

Best plase to shop. Employees are helpful, kind, patient, peaceful, and they care about the customer's shopping experience. WOW what more can I say but THANK YOU. I always stop at the CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK to compliment JB'S on their service to the customer. And they really care. I love that.

If I could give no stars I would have! NEVER GET TIRES HERE! Can't really say anything positive about my recent and now current time spent in the tire center at your store in Allentown, PA: 1785 Airport Rd, Allentown, PA 18109 Friday 11/23/18 - Was in store from 4pm to 4:40pm. Monday 11/26/18 - Was in store at 11am and currently still here waiting(now 2:45pm) I purchased 4 brand new tires on Friday 11/23. When they told me I was done and left the shopping center I immediately had to stop on my way home to fill each tire up with air. The technicians put all 4 tires on and NO air. I should have known then it was only going to get worse. Over the next 2 days I had to put air in 2 of the tires each day(both drivers side tires). Each time I would fill with appropriate amount of air. On my way to work this morning both of those tires went flat. I AM LIVID! This is ridiculous. I bought 4 brand new tires!!!! This should not be happening. I then had to call a tow truck to have my car towed back to BJ's. Cost me out of my own pocket $123.50!!!!! - A cost that could have been avoided if the tires were valves were checked as they should have been on Friday when the tires were installed. I have now been in the Tire center for 4+ hours. Mind you I had to leave my place of employment to go out of my way to get back to the store for them to fix an issues that should have never happened or been checked when I first got these new tires 3 days ago. When I first walked in the technicians made it seem like I slashed my own tires. They started to put the blame on me. This is not the case. They took a look at my car after an hour and a half waiting and told me that I needed new valves and the tires were fine. The technician then called any available manager. He spoke with someone on the phone and then proceeded to tell me that they will replace all 4 valves but only give me new tires for the 2 that were flat. I wanted all new tires. I paid for 4 new tires the first time I was there why should I not receive new ones. This is not my fault and the customer service has been less than tolerable. I am the one being inconvenienced and had to purchase UNNECESSARY items (i.e. a $123.50 tow truck ride). After the technician spoke on the phone with the GM, I asked to please speak with the GM her name was Suzy. I was told I could go to the front of the store and ask for Suzy the GM. From the moment I approached Suzy she was very closed off and not willing to help. Suzy could have cared less that a customer who is a frequent shopper and just purchased 4 BRAND NEW TIRES for $580! She spoke to me while I was still in the line for the service desk with other shoppers around. I was very reasonable and understand they are giving me new valves and only 2 new tires. This could have been avoided if the proper steps were taken at the initial install. LIVID CUSTOMER! I WILL NEVER GET TIRES HERE AGAIN LET ALONE SHOP IN THE CLUB.
