Went to go check it out as a possible place to stay at in the next couple months. And the owner Aaron was very hospitable and was a gracious host. I look forward to making reservations and coming and staying there. It's a great location. He makes great desserts.

My husband and I decided to get away and rest, best decision made! Aaron the host, was so welcoming and hospitable. Oliver, the house cat was very friendly and cuddly. I fell in love immediately with the serene and peaceful home and it’s surroundings. Breakfast was very delicious and filling. The bed was extremely comfortable.. I can’t say enough about my visit... I definitely enjoyed my stay, very relaxing. Will visit again soon

Host was amazing! Very personable and a great cook! Breakfasts were large portions and very tasty, each morning he really surprised us. It was a true 3 course breakfast with juice and coffee. Fireplace added a very homey touch. The house is a work in progress and we had a relaxing time. One thing I would like to add that really impressed us, as people that have been to other bed and breakfasts, was that the host home cooked the meal and served us. It was not a buffet in the main room.

A cute place to stay at an affordable price! Upon arriving, Aaron gave us a warm welcome and bought us to our room, the Colonial. It's a cute room with lots of natural light and plenty of little window nooks to curl up in with a book. A visit from the residential cat, Oliver was more than welcome, he's a real sweetheart that just loves to be pet. But my favorite part of the entire experience was curling up in a vintage claw foot tub and just relaxing. Aaron made sure we had access to anything we needed, like pillows or sheets, he's also a great cook! We ate strawberry parfait, roasted potatoes and eggs for breakfast with another guest couple and it felt like having breakfast with family. I would definitely recommend this BnB for anyone looking for a place to stay in the area!

What an awesome time we had at the Bella Vista B&B. The host is the best and so welcoming. Hands down I highly recommend this place even if your looking for some home away from home time. For our first experience we had a peaceful, quiet and homely stay. It served just what we needed a place to recharge, renew and refocus and heal from some lost we had. I would definitely visit again. A great check mark of completing my goal to stay in a bed and breakfast.Mr. & Mrs. D. Hayes

My wife and I just spent one night and two days in Akron and such a great time! We wanted a relaxing and low key mini vacation and Bella Vista delivered perfectly. The room (the colonial) was comfortable, old fashioned and quiet. We had a nice huge clawfoot tub, that REALLY hit the spot. We ended the night with a cigar and a cocktail on the beautiful front porch. Aaron was great company, responsive and took care of anything we needed. We plan on coming back in the fall!

Another great stay. This was our second stay here for my wife and I. Clean comfy bed and a nice breakfast. Aaron was pleasant and easy to deal with both times we stayed. I'm big on reading reviews and I have seen some people complaining about the place or Aaron, after two separate stays here I don't see how anyone could complain. If you're looking for a five star resort, no this is not for you, if you want a cozy stay in a historic setting, then this is your place. I think people are shocked by a middle aged male running a B&B, I have nothing but good things to say about Aaron and the Bella Vista. ?P.S. See ya next trip Oliver?

We recently spent two nights here, and had a great time. Aaron was very sociable and friendly, and took great care of us. Breakfast was delicious, with waffles, home fries and fresh fruit and yogurt. We are looking forward to planning a return visit!

I stayed there for 2 nights..it was a gift from my kids and I will say it was so comfortable. And Aaron was very friendly. Every one complaining about him didn't take the time to get to know him. He is running that alone and I will say it's very clean and breakfast was homemade nothing frozen about it. All and all it was very relaxing. My husband and I will return...

Horrible experience. I bought a groupon for the B&B and called right away to get a reservation. Made the reservation a month and a half in advance. I was told we were booked for the Garden room. I asked what size bed was in that room and was told there was a queen. As soon as I got off the phone, I went online and read the description and looked at the pictures. The description stated it was a king bed, I thought that was strange but I disregarded the mistake. The room looked very nice in the pictures.About a month out from the reservation, I called to verify our reservation date since the B&B did not send any form of confirmation. I was told the night we had reserved was overbooked and was asked if there was any other night we could switch it to. I explained that was the only night we would be in the area, I was told that would not be a problem. On the website the check-in time is from 4-6pm. We arrived at 5:40, and could not find anyone. I called the phone number on the website and reached Aaron the second time I called. I explained we had just arrived and we were trying to check in. Aaron responded “Yeah, I’ve been waiting on you guys, I went out to get something to eat”. He explained the room was open upstairs and we could go ahead in. The only room was the Floral room which has two twin beds?!? I called him back asking why we had a room with twins. I explained we were informed we had a room with a queen or king. He stated he did not have us down for a preference of bed size. (I didn’t realize I had to state a preference when I was told I had a specific room.) He asked what I wanted to do, I said I wanted my money back because my husband and I can’t share a twin. And sleeping in two beds isn’t my idea of a romantic weekend. In addition, there was a cat roaming around while we were there. I never saw anything on the website about a cat, and my husband and I are both allergic. The whole situation from the start was very unprofessional and we never even received an apology.

My husband and I went to BV for our anniversary. Aaron greeted us promptly but didn't give us a tour or much info at all. We asked about drinks. He asked us what we brought. Never stayed at a B&B that didn't have drinks and snacks available for guests. I got a bad vibe from Aaron and my husband found him to be quite rude on the phone earlier that day. Our room was on the 3rd floor with NO air conditioning. He told us he would put the air conditioner in the next day. I take a medication for breast cancer which makes me have intense hot flashes. The windows were open with NO screens. There were 2 flat pillows on the bed with dingy linens. Wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The Groupon description said there were "tasteful Victorian" decorations in the rooms.I didn't notice anything other than peeling wallpaper, dingy linens, and a 12" TV. The room looked nothing - and I do mean nothing -like the website photos except for the stenciled floors. My husband and I decided we couldn't stay there and left. Aaron was cordial about it stating that he understood. I don't think there were any other guests there although Aaron claimed there were. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone! I felt like I was in a television sitcom. I've never experienced a scam like this. My husband immediately let Groupon know about our experience. If I could give this place a half of a star, I would have. Our Beagle is probably enjoying better accommodations at the Paws Inn where he is staying!

I normally don't leave reviews but this sent me over the top. My husband and I were gifted a 2 night stay that was originally bought from Groupon. Starting off, the owner was EXTREMELY disrespectful from the beginning. He was upset because we were late getting there (because roads were closed due to flooding). Getting there, we were told the room that was paid for was under construction and we were sent to stay in the garden room. It was small, smelly, and had NO AIR CONDITIONING which is advertised on the website. The ceiling fan didn't even work. It was 85 and humid when we stayed. My husband and I immediately made the decision that we were leaving the next day, however, the owner was so stand offish that we had to lie about why we were leaving. The next morning, the owner was making breakfast in his PJs and said it would be ready by 9 am, but when I questioned him about this, he said "it'll be ready in a minute if you just be patient". Which I thought was rude. The owner sat with us at breakfast, discussed inappropriate things, was cussing, told me I would not make any money at my future job, and said "if you divorce your husband, make sure you don't take all of his money". I literally do not understand why this place is still in business. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

We had a terrible experience staying at this rundown place. It isn't anything like the photos you see on the website or on Groupon. Moreover, the owner is real creep. He is rude, aggressive and really offensive. If you're late to the breakfast or ask him a simple question, he will respond in a condescending fashion. The breakfast is pathetic. Also, if you're allergic to cats/pets, this is not the place for you because his cat is all over the place. We got greedy because of Groupon discount and booked this place. Terrible experience!

My wife and I just spent the weekend at this awesome bed and breakfast. As this was our first experience at a B&B we were a little skeptical after we read some of the reviews. However, they do not represent our stay one bit!Aaron was a very friendly manager, and we enjoyed our conversations with him. In fact we didn’t “go out” one night to explore the town, we just stayed in to socialize with Aaron and the other guests. We played Boggle and Blackjack (beware Aaron is really good at these games :) ).The next morning we were welcomed to fresh fruit, waffles, and potatoes. Also Aaron scheduled us a dinner with an Amish family which was delicious!Lastly, our highlight of the trip was Oliver the outdoor cat/co-manager. He was very friendly, and even jumped in my lap when I was on the outdoor swing. He loved attention, and he was a twin of our own cat.Long story short, you will have a great time if you stay here!
