The BRC was a lifesaver for me when my daughter was born! We had two 1-1 sessions with Jen, once to help my daughter’s latch and again to get started pumping before I went back to work, and she was an incredible help both times. I also can’t speak highly enough of their weekly (free!) support group. It was a low-pressure way for me to start going out of the house with the baby and to get used to nursing in public. It was also a great way to meet other new parents and get questions answered about everything from breastfeeding to sleep to colic. They do lots of great events around tummy time, sleep, and baby-led weaning, and they even have a support group for non-breastfeeding parents that my husband found really helpful. I can’t recommend them enough—they are a wonderful community resource!

I used BRC 2x’s with two different newborns and two different consultants. Both experiences were very positive and helpful. I highly recommend this center!

Millie was super great and encouraging. I had a great experience during my appointment with her. However, there was no follow up and I had to call to get her to send me the report she told me she’d send by that evening but didn’t send it until that following week. I asked her specific questions in regards to things we talked about but never received a response. I did a follow up appointment with Jenn and it was disappointing. She was very negative and instead of showing me better ways to do things, she just pointed out the things I was doing wrong. I got absolutely nothing from my appointment with her and have no intentions of ever returning. I’d recommend finding an independent lactation consultant as they give more personalized and thoughtful care. For a center focused on helping mothers they were not at all helpful.

My wife used their service multiple times and everytime it has been a pleasure and a great help. Being a father, they do allow the husband at the appointment and so that we can also know what can help your wife when It comes to breastfeeding

Amazing support system for breastfeeding moms! My daughter wasn't gaining fast enough so we went for a consultation almost a year ago and last month we went to a support group for advice on a stubborn clogged duct, I was always amazed by the kindness and knowledge of the consultants!

My son was born 10 days early and had some trouble latching. A quick visit with Jen at the BRC and he was nursing like a champ! Not only that, but the BRC took care of all the insurance stuff too which, as a mom with a newborn, was so helpful and nice to not have to deal with it myself. The BRC is a wonderful place!

I am so grateful to have been referred to the BRC! The consultants made me feel comfortable as I walked in to my first appointment needing a LOT of help and guidance. I saw Colette & Louisa, both of whom are extremely knowledgeable, personable, & very eager to help! I received such conflicting nursing advice in the hospital after I delivered, that I felt so lost. I need solid advice from people who make breastfeeding their passion. Every time I asked a nurse a breastfeeding question in the hospital, I received a different answer each time. So frustrating and confusing!!! It took me 8 weeks to get into a groove with my little one and I honestly could not have done it without the help of the BRC. I started going to their weekly support groups, which was another great experience. I bonded with other moms going through the same issues, made some new friends, and got out of the house! If your goal is to breastfeed & things just don’t feel too natural, I highly recommend making an appointment. Every pregnant woman I know, I have told to make an appt with the BRC before they leave the hospital - even if it’s just for the consultants to observe a nursing session. They will help put your mind at ease & answer any question you have.

This place was so helpful when trying to learn how to nurse. We really struggled in the early weeks and I’m very thankful for all the help and support the staff here offered.

I called for assistance once my supply dropped after 9 months. Due to my work schedule, I was unable to come during regular hours due to work, and they generously offered to have me come in on Saturday. They were very thorough and supportive. Unfortunately my supply had dipped too low, but I appreciated their help and support.

I came with an issue that my baby was pulling off and crying every hour. What they've noticed is my baby hasn't gained weight in a week. I'm so glad I got that information! The pediatricians just brushed it off and said my baby is just small but in reality she wasn't getting enough milk!! Although I did end up quitting breastfeeding, I continued to pump and supplement for another 5 months. Now I have a chunky, happy baby. I'm so glad I got a consultation at that moment.

Louisa, at the Abington office, was absolutely wonderful and helped save my breastfeeding relationship with my newborn. I plan on taking my next one to see her too! The support groups are also a great way to get out of the house in a baby-friendly environment.

The BRC is a lifesaver! In those bleary first days, when I struggled with low supply, everyone at the BRC was a lifeline for me, my husband, and our daughter. They saved our nursing relationship (and never made me feel bad about being a low supply mom, which I was for the duration). The support groups and classes were also so important. If you have questions, don't wait - they can help!
