I've visited twice in this past week, and was assisted by two different, wonderful, knowledgeable staff people! Michael helped us the first time and then Mark helped when I was ready to make a purchase. He took his time with us, and he had great ideas, and we ended up piecing together a very beautiful dining room look. He was knowledgeable and fun and just a super nice guy! I would highly recommend this beautiful store, with its great prices, high quality items, great staff and service!

I’ve been making deliveries to room and board in Kent Washington, otsego and golden valley Minnesota, Torrance California, and Brisbane California for 10 yrs from the newton North Carolina warehouse and this room and board tualatin Oregon had the most friendly employees out of any of them and fast. Not the easiest location to find but the best one I’ve been to yet

The team at the Portland location are amazing. My wife and I often visit on the weekends and we always receive the best service. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. This is a really well run operation.

Very nice US made furniture arranged for easy viewing in the spacious store. The clean lines work for various styles and will fit easily into a furnished home or if you are just staring out, will provide a great baseline. Colors are primarily neutral - think the ever popular gray, cream, browns and for pops of color, throw pillows. On the lower level they have quite the selection of recliners, many with small profiles which I prefer to the big and bulky recliner my dad used to have. Those working here let you browse; they don't proactively approach you but if you have questions, they happily assist. I was looking at a particular bed and dresser and they helped me set up an online account so that after evaluating other furniture lines, if I chose the Room & Board set, it would already be in my shopping cart. Shipping is a flat fee of $175 to any location and they set up the furniture and take all the boxes away. If you are shopping for furniture, definitely worth a stop here.

My husband and I stopped in today (based on good Yelp reviews) since we are in the process of furnishing our new home. We won't be back. Not one salesperson acknowledged us or even made eye contact when walking by - despite the fact that we were trying out chairs, looking at fabric swatches, and talking about how certain pieces might work out for us. And there were no other customers in the store!

Room and Board Portland, Oregon is great! Helped us find the furniture we were looking for very efficiently and thoroughly. Friendly people having to deal with COVID and snow and ice! Gave us a delivery day right at purchase and everything happened like clockwork. Delivery people were perfectly professional and called when they were close. These guys are simply terrific; wish more businesses would adopt their professionalism!

So happy that when I have purchased items from Room & Board I can save a few bucks by opting to pick up the furniture myself. Obviously, white glove delivery is nice, but I think it’s nicer to have the cash (to spend on more stuff from Room & Board) haha! They are very friendly there.

What has happened to service in Portland Room and Board? For three visits in October and November the sales people have been huddled together talking amongst themselves. Questions are answered with a yes or no, information seems impossible to come by, no one wants to be bothered. In 2017 we ordered over $8000 in the the store, today I am ordering online.

This company continues to exceed expectations. We have previously purchased many items for another home and recently visited the Portland location. Mary was truly exceptional and helpful , yet not intrusive. She was incredibly knowledgeable about various sizes and surfaces. Aside from the high quality of furnishings, most of the pieces are handcrafted in the US or made from sustainable resources. Major plus.

Other than the bogus directions provided by yelp, R&B were and are easy to work with, the display floor is well laid out, and Mark our sales person quickly earned our trust by being genuine and honest and patient and altogether professional. We purchased 2 chairs and are looking forward to receiving them. This was our first visit.

I've been telling everyone I know to avoid this store after our incredibly bad experience(s) trying to furnish a new cabin with Room and Board furniture. The line that stays with me is "This never happens..." I beg to differ. 1. Wrong headboard delivered. 2. Had to pull everything out of moving trailer. 3. Told this never happens. 4. Next day, told us that our new sectional has a hole, but they will patch it before delivery. 5. Called us to say patch didn't work. 6. Give us damaged sectional and special order another. 7. Told again this never happens. 8. They deliver the new sectional to cabin- 4 hrs away -but it is light blue not brown (doesn't match our swatch.)9. Customer service lady starts screaming at me to calm down when I start going off about all that we've been through thus far. 10. Weeks, maybe months later, we get brown sectional, but it is the wrong-sided configuration. No one bothered to check. 11. More weeks, or months later, we get a third sectional12. The only person who is apologetic to us is the contracted delivery man --who isn't an employee. Avoid this store!!!!!
