We are beyond grateful for the emergency care given to our 11 year old German Shepherd by Dr. Suubi and all of the staff. We were visiting Portland over the weekend when we got a call from our usual vet Saturday morning that our dog's blood work revealed a dangerous level of anemia. Our vet asked us to get her in for an emergency blood transfusion immediately. Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin was able to answer all of our questions over the phone and we decided to bring our dog in that afternoon. The intake process was very quick and efficient. The vet tech was very knowledgeable and understood the urgency. We were able to have X-rays done and consult with Dr. Suubi in a very short amount of time. She was great at explaining the situation and spending the time to answer all of our questions. We ended up leaving our dog there through the evening in order to have the transfusion done and were promptly called at 2am for pick-up when it was done. The post op instructions very were clear and so was the pricing and paperwork. Overall, the whole team was very professional, efficient, and compassionate during a very stressful situation. We highly recommend!

I have been here before with my yorkie when he needed help and this time was the only place I could take him and get the help he needed. He had a collapsing trachea and when they have a panic attack or what ever the reason they can't get oxygen. These guys do and they know what exactly needs to be done. Unfortunately Koda this time was to severe. They tried and did the best they could, he was in the oxygen tent over night and sedatives and kept warm. This was very hard for us to let him go but we loved him and couldn't make suffer. These guys were very kind and understanding to our needs. They took care of contacting the company for creamation. We received his ashes a week later in a beautiful wood box that had some beautiful engraving. I imagine this is a hard time for anyone to go through as we did. We could have gone to a emergency vet closer to us but the word TRUST is what I needed where I would take my fur baby and here is what I know and feel when we go there. I just wish they were closer to us.

My wife took our dog in for an emergency visit she arrived before 11:00 a.m. and they made her wait in the car until after 1:00 a.m. the next morning and still only looked at our dog once early on and told her she needed to wait.
She checked in every couple of hours and they kept putting her off. She ended up having to wait and take her to another Vet Clinic later in the week. My wife was absolutely in tears, tired, hungry and they would not give her any information would not tell her a time frame of how long it would be , gave her a bunch of false promises on when they could see the dog , telling her "she's next" yet making excuses or no reason at all why she could not be seen. They saw dozens of dogs that came in after her saying our dogs situation wasn't as critical, even though they didnt run any tests on her.
I absolutely would never EVER recommend this place to anyone. It was everything I could do to not drive down and give them my thoughts on the poor treatment of my wife and our dog.
This was our second visit. The first time our dog had kennel cough which eventually developed into pneumonia because they misdiagnosed it, for which they Gave her the wrong meds.
Thank God our personal vet was able to see her a about a week later because she wasn't getting better. Our Vet fortunately, put her on the CORRECT meds. she barely survived but did, thank heavens for Vets who care about their clients human and 4 legged. The clinics handling of this was Totally unacceptable. It's my honest opinion that someone may be putting profits over people , certain patients are priority because their visit will pay more. 20-30 minutes is all it should take to set up the few tests our pup needed. They may not seem like a priority to this clinic, but they (our fur babies) are a priority for us.

We lost our kitty Gizmo almost a week ago. We took him to this hospital & didn't expect to leave without him. The amount of care, compassion & kindness everyone here has shown during AND after has been short of amazing. All of you are very much appreciated.

I called for follow up concerns about my dog and the nice ladies at the front desk put me through to a technician who actually cursed at me. Unbelievable and very upsetting to be treated so poorly during a difficult time.

If you cherish your pet's well-being DO NOT TRUST THIS CLINIC.
Long wait times, neglect in too many reviews
A thorough examination of the comments reveals numerous instances where pets were subjected to extensive wait times, ranging from 6 to 10 hours or more, before receiving attention. Additionally, reports highlight cases of inadequate care and neglect, forming a recurring pattern of mishaps and neglect.
The persistent issue of prolonged wait times, often extending overnight, underscores the necessity for this clinic to transition to appointment-only operation during regular hours. The strain of functioning as an emergency facility appears beyond their capacity, evidenced by unfortunate outcomes experienced by many pets.
Regrettably, our family experienced the devastating loss of our cherished companion, Mila, over Thanksgiving. Her ordeal spanned over a few painful days, initiated by our visit to this clinic and culminating in her passing approximately 48 hours later in the hands of this clinic.
Despite multiple notifications to the clinic regarding Mila's diabetic condition and her reliance on insulin twice daily, there were critical oversights in her care. Shockingly, after being fed, Mila was not administered insulin, a vital omission considering her medical history extensively documented by the clinic.
Our distressing journey began late one evening when Mila, exhibiting a cough, was brought to the clinic. Subsequently, she endured over nine hours of waiting, during which she was fed without receiving the necessary insulin. Even after assurances, it was discovered posthumously that no insulin had been administered due to its purported expiration, as relayed by the clinic's director.
The following morning, despite prior consent for X-rays, disorganization persisted as the need for sedation was belatedly raised. Subsequent diagnosis of pneumonia and prescription of antibiotics were given, we were told this "Will fix her right up". Instead, her lethargy persisted, raising concerns regarding the duration of her sedation's effects.
The next day came and Mila was more lethargic than the previous day, we sought help from our regular veterinarian, who promptly identified signs of diabetic ketoacidosis and raised the question on why an emergency clinic would not perform a simple standard blood test for a diabetic patient
Urgent overnight treatment was imperative, prompting our vet to call the Tualatin Emergency Clinic to set up immediate 24 hour treatment.
She was taken back to the clinic to start emergency treatment, the vet mentioned the possibility of putting her down in 24 hours as a worst case scenario. This was a shock considering she was still playful and full of energy when she walked in the clinic door a few nights prior.
Assured Mila was in good hands they were going to start her treatment and see how she was in 24 hours.
We had just arrived home from the hour drive back from the clinic and phone rang, the words on the other line were "We are calling to get your permission to stop trying to revive Mila" She had been unresponsive for over 10 minutes and CPR wasn't going to bring her back. I did ask if there was a chance, was told she was gone.
She died shortly after treatment started.
The profound neglect exhibited by this clinic directly contributed to Mila's premature demise. Despite repeated warnings and documented evidence of her diabetic condition, basic protocols, such as routine blood tests, were overlooked. The failure to administer insulin to a diabetic dog after a feeding and in distress epitomizes the systemic shortcomings that marred Mila's final days.
Mila was a loving caring companion that didn't have a mean bone in her body. She didn't deserve the hell

They told us it would take 2.5 hrs. They were right! They gave us few options. They gave us a free used cone. $135 for check up. We enjoyed looking at the fishes while waiting. Gave us less anxiety!

I will never go there again. First of all they only care about money and second they lie. I took my fur baby in because he was lethargic and not eating. We where told over the phone that he needed to be euthanized. We get there and they take him back and then the vet said he wanted to talk to me. He told me there was nothing wrong with him, he was healthy but running a fever. (Never offered anything to help with the fever). He also gave me the number to the Oregon humane society saying they do payment plans. When I call I was told they don't do payment plans and I would have to make an appointment. Two days latery fur baby died. All because they wouldn't help home due to financial limitations. Thanks for nothing.

My cat was struggling to breathe. It was after 5pm and my regular vet was closed and not open on the weekend. I'd been to this emergency vet hospital 3 years ago and had a good experience, but after this visit it is apparent that the staff, doctors and management has most likely changed. My cat was put into an Oxygen tank immediately, and for that I am grateful. I was told to go home because it would be a while before he could be seen. Dr. Shank called me later to tell me my cat had asthma and an upper respiratory infection, but felt the need to do further tests. After speeding through a list of test asked me if $2800.00 sounded reasonable? I was dismayed at the cost because I've had my cat 15 years and he's been treated for asthma and upper respiratory infections before. The total bill had always been around $300. I told her that it didn't sound reasonable and wanted her to explain why it was going to cost so much? I was adding up the cost of the visit, antibiotics, asthma meds and Oxygen in my head and couldn't imagine what else needed to be done costing $2500 more? She became outraged and began yelling at me! Dr. Shank said she would "not waist her time and piece out the bill for me." I stayed calm, spoke peaceful and told her xrays and a full blood work were not needed because my cat had just had both at his regular vet a month prior. She became more enraged and told me, "When you go to the emergency room you don't get to dictate the cost of the bill! You get treated, you go home, and then you get the bill! And then you have to pay the bill!!!" She then finished with "DO YOU UNDERSTAND!!!? and hung up on me. Nurse heather called me back, and calmly went over the potential costs . I ended up paying close to $1100 for everything that was necessary to to treat my cat in an emergency situation. A CT scan was not necessary. My cat has a vet and is seen often. I know what is reasonable and necessary. This wasn't my first rodeo and I definitely know when I'm being taken advantage of! Further more the following Monday morning I reported this experience to my vet. They were appalled and said they would no longer advice their patients to go there.

During unideal times we had to bring our pup here. We received answers to his symptoms within 24 hours of inpatient care with testing. While the outcome ended up being the worst case scenario for us, I am thankful for how kind everyone was at this facility, open and patient to all my calls and questions, and for the doctor providing us thorough info and his recommendation. We never once felt rushed, and while we wished we could have said good bye to our pup in our own home, I am thankful it was at least within these circumstances, care and consideration.

I recently brought my dog Annie here for an ultrasound. My vet called first thing on a Saturday morning and they were able to fit us in same day. I did have to leave her for the day because we weren't scheduled and I was very emotional when I dropped her off as it was likely that she had cancer. The staff were great, they walked me through the costs and assured me I could call at anytime for an update, which I did twice. Both times I was treated with care and received thorough updates on how my dog was doing. Dr. Schneck was the one to call and relay the news that it was in fact cancer. She was compassionate but straightforward, which I appreciated. She didn't rush me when I had questions and she provided me with some options that ultimately saved me on cost. I was able to take Annie home with some meds to make her more comfortable until I could get into an oncologist.
This would be a tough place to work as almost everyone coming or going was trying to hold onto tears over worries of there pets. The staff upfront were compassionate, informative and efficient which I appreciated as I was crying while filling out paperwork.

The worst vets I took my dog and it took an entire day until I called a couple of times, and they told me that they had another emergency and never checked my dog and the one who answered was just rude saying that I can take my dog if I don't want to keep waiting after 12 hours

I was referred to this ER from my vet because my dog needed X-rays and possibly surgery his back leg . His normal vet was not able to tell because his X-ray machine was not working so he referred me out. I got there at 12pm and staff was friendly they took him in a room and got vitals. The technician told me I could drop him off to go eat run som errands and it would be a couple of hours. So I go eat and wait in my car for 5 hours because I don’t live in Tualatin. I gave them a call and they said it will be a couple more hours so I could drive back to Salem and they will call me when the vet checks him out. Around 8pm I call and they told me he will be the next one in probably a couple of hours. I call back at 10 to see if he has been checked and they said the vet has not gotten to him yet at this point it has been 10 hours and he hadn’t been checked, I asked how long it would be and they said maybe a couple more hours possibly tomorrow. I was frustrated by this point I would have taken him to a different vet if they told me it would be more than 12 hours but they said a couple of hours. I drove to Tualatin and got there at 11:35 they said he hadn’t been seen yet and at that point I just took him to a different er vet they took me in right away. I just feel like so much time was waisted and communication should have been better I should have probably taken him to a different place after 5 hours of waiting in my car but I know it’s an er clinic and they take it case by case based on priority. However considering that his vet said he could need surgery and he was in a lot of pain I thought he should have been seen when they told me. Lesson learned will not be coming back

I am beyond grateful to the Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin for taking such great care of my dog and going out of their way to direct us to where we could receive surgery that was within our budget.
Our poor dog was dealing with an intestinal obstruction of 3 days, and after bringing him to another ER, we brought him here. To be transparent, there was a wait, but it's not something I minded because I knew my dog was being checked in on and they called me to update me.
We were able to get X Rays for an affordable price, and upon finding out that he needed surgery, the vet (I'm bad with names but I appreciate her so, so much) took the time to think up solutions with me that lined up with our financial situation. She was able to connect me to another vet and thanks to her consideration, my dog successfully had the blockage removed this afternoon; something that likely would not have been possible otherwise. They also kept him on fluids overnight and kept him stable enough for his surgery.
I would also like to extend my gratitude to the kind tech who allowed me to see my dog before they took him for the night. I was an emotional mess at that point, but he sat with me and talked to me and made me believe everything would turn out okay. It had been a long, emotionally taxing day and that empathy is something that truly helped me. Despite being very busy that day, the staff treated me and my dog with the upmost compassion and eased my fears. Thank you EVCOT ❤️❤️❤️

I am so impressed with this facility. They are clean and efficiently run, even if there is sometimes a long wait. When you bring your pet, they take them back for a triage assessment. If they are stable, they tell you the wait time, and you can go home with your pet if you like, or you can leave your pet there at no charge. If they are urgent, they take care of them as soon as possible. I don’t mind waiting if my pet’s needs aren’t urgent, because I would hope that if they were urgent, they would treat her ahead of the less urgent cases. If you take your pet home to wait, they call you when it’s coming up on your turn. Within 24 hours, my beloved poodle was treated, x-rayed, diagnosed, and operated on. I can’t recommend them highly enough. I dealt with many different office staff, technicians, and vets during the 48 hours my dog was there, and every single one was courteous, compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional.
