A native Oregonian, born and raised in Portland, Michael Gibbons demonstrated an extraordinary gift for perception and visual expression. "Like many of my dedicated artist friends, what I was to do with my life was apparent to me as far back as I can remember. It wasn't until my early twenties that inquisitiveness and crisis collided, giving birth to opportunity. at that point, I could strip enough of other people's expectations away to see clearly the path I was born for.
