I can’t say enough about this shop, Jeremey and his team! My mechanic moved about a year ago and after careful consideration and research chose Tigard Auto.
It’s difficult to find a shop who is honest, has integrity, value and good communication. They have everything. No surprises and no gouging. I’ve been back since and they went above and beyond when I unexpectedly broke down on the way out of town.
They had a full schedule but had a heart to consider my timeline and went above and beyond to get me back in the road fast than anticipated.
Their warranty is amazing and you can’t beat their service and professionalism. Thank you for everything that you’ve done. You have a customer for life!

good service but they very clearly go through people's stuff that they left in their car, things out of where they should be, backpacks opened and things moved, keep caution

I was calling around to locate a mechanic. I knew what I needed because I'd taken my truck to Auto Zone and the computer diagnostics showed as an oxygen sensor. It even specified which needed done. I knew this was going to be about $400 because the part showed as $200. Tigard Auto was the third place on my call sheet. Queue my call to Tigard Auto. To be cordial, I mentioned that I loved cars and that my daddy had taught me about them and that I used to help him...(you get the idea). Jeremy's reaction was startling. He actually got defensive and then started quizzing me - "If your car started to backfire would you automatically assume it was the sparkplugs?" After a second trying to determine if he was joking around, I replied, "Yes." "Wrong. It could be...". He then made some strange comments about how he could just do a quick fix, but that without a diagnostics, he couldn't guarantee that it would turn off the check engine light. I told him that I'd hope he wouldn't try to cheat me. He agreed he would never do that. I asked if I could drop it off at 8 a.m.. He stated that would be okay. Monday arrives and my husband and I take the truck into the shop. The young man that greeted us was very friendly, which gave me hope that I hadn't made a horrible mistake. Strangely, the young man stated that my appointment wasn't on the book. I told him of my conversation with Jeremy and that I'd be coming back at around 5:15 to pick it up since I own a daycare and had specifically asked my last parent to arrive at 5. The shop shows that it closes at 5:30. At around 11:30, Jeremy calls. He asked if I was the person with the Tacoma that he'd spoken to the week before. I told him yes, on Saturday, to which he replied, rather brusquely, "We're closed on Saturday." So, I said, "Then it was Friday". He then said, "And I told you that you could bring it in today?" I was getting a little nervous at this point that he wasn't going to be fixing my truck after all. I replied that he had told me that I could and then he said, "Well the quote I gave you was wrong. It's going to be $500." I don't know what his intention was declaring this so rudely, but I simply replied, "I expected as much, since the repair is $400, which is your original quote, and I decided to get the diagnostics, which you stated would be $98." My daughter went with me to collect the truck. We arrived at 5:08. We pulled in and my truck was nowhere to be seen. I quipped to my daughter as we walked in, "watch and see. He'll come out all smiles with great customer service". He did have a smile on his face, but it was one of those that was kind of terrifying. Huge, all teeth, no smile in his eyes. He told me that he'd pulled my truck into the bay and went to collect it, which he did, squealing the tires as he pulled it up front. My daughter asked again why I'd brought the truck to them. I again explained that I needed it fixed and Tigard Auto had good reviews and that I couldn't take Jeremy's bad manners personally. I was seriously rethinking all of that though when he came strolling in again. He slammed my keys onto the counter, which made me jump. I handed him my credit card and he made a comment about how he was going to need to charge me a fee for using it unless I had a debit card. I simply replied that I didn't have $500 in my account. I signed the invoice, collected the keys, and headed out. My daughter left the lot ahead of me in the truck. I had to walk across the parking lot to get into my car. As I was getting ready to pull out, I heard an old truck revving its engine again, and then watched as it pulled out super fast, spinning it's wheels loudly as if the driver were playing a scene from Fast and Furious. It was startling. Overall, I'm glad that my truck was fixed (I hope) but in future, I won't be returning to this shop. I know that it won't be a loss to them, but I

I thought I had a 1 pm appointment to change out a Mini Cooper battery. (What a nightmare). I turned off my car thinking I was at the right place.
I was not. The gentleman at the front desk did give me a jump.

Had the check engine light pop up, so wanted to try this place out after reading the reviews. We were not disappointed with the service. They all did an awesome job informing us what was going on with the car, and will definitely come back here next time. Thank you!

I was in a bit of a panic because something was definitely off with my cooling system and I’m going home to Los Angeles right before Christmas with all my stuff and I needed my car to run and run right. I’ve had a few different cars with an assortment of issues over the years so I know enough to know that there is a problem and what’s generally going on but not enough to pinpoint it. The internet has about 50 different answers for what it MIGHT be. After a couple self-fixes failed to solve the problem, I did some research on local shops and mobile mechanics. I tried mobile mechanics first because I was on a bit of a time crunch at work but wasn’t getting responses. Had a computer go down so I spent the down time to take my car over to Tigard Auto Service. I had seen some great reviews and after my experience I completely understand why. Finding an honest mechanic is hard enough, and even harder to know for sure when you’re away from home. Jeremy dealt with me fairly, gave me a fair price. I needed my car for short trips for the week while I waited for my part to come in, and they took me at my word that I would come back with the car and pay full up when they did the repair and didn’t charge me anything up-front. The problem turned out to be a lot less severe than I feared it might be, Jeremy and his crew did the job right, they treated me well, and got me back on the road. Whether local or traveling, if you have a car issue in the Portland area, I highly recommend taking your car in to Tigard Auto Service . I hope I never have a car problem in Portland again. But if I do, Jeremy will be my first, last and only call.

Absolute life savers! My daughter was driving from San Diego to Tacoma when her car broke down in Tigard. The breakdown happened in the evening so she found a hotel for the night. The next morning we searched and began checking reviews for local auto repair. We settled on Tigard Auto Service and hoped for the best. The crew at Tigard Auto Service were absolutely professional, friendly and understood the situation. They quickly diagnosed the issue and within a few hours, she was on her way. Jeremy could have charged me for a part that was under warranty, but he didn't. Thank you for your honesty. I wouldn't have known the difference.
