It’s disappointing when people aren’t open to growing through constructive feedback. Since moving to Portland, we’ve been bringing our dogs to Petco every three weeks without fail. We’ve actually been loyal customers for over six years starting in California, ever since we adopted our dogs.
At our last grooming appointment, the entire process took less than an hour from drop-off to pick-up, which made me a bit concerned that the service might have been rushed. One of our dog’s paws felt rough and scratchy, almost like the nails were cut but not filed. I understand that mistakes happen, we’re all human, and when I brought it up, the groomer explained the routine and reassured me, which I appreciated.
However, when I picked the dogs up today, I was told I should find another place for future grooming. That was really disheartening. It feels like simply offering honest feedback, not to criticize, but to ensure our pets are well cared for was unwelcome. Instead of seeing it as an opportunity to improve and retain loyal customers, it seems they’d rather push people away. That’s not how a business grows or builds trust.

Not pleasant at all. We stopped by to get a flea comb about 15 minutes before close. When we walked in, we could feel the unhappy glares from the employees as they watched us walk in and didn’t even say hello. When we went up to the register, Tara I think her name was, was so rude. No greeting, no thank you. I went to use the pin pad to pay, and she mumbled something about the pin pad. I didn’t understand her, so I used my finger again to put my pin in, and she rudely snapped at me and loudly said “I SAID THE PINPAD DOESN’T WORK! USE THE PEN!!”
I was so offended. As a paying customer I felt so unwelcome, and after we paid, they were still open another 5 minutes, so it’s not like we were an inconvenience to her so I have no idea what her problem was but it wasn’t a good look for Petco. Won’t be returning.

My dog was happy to go to the groomers. She had been anxious before but now she is easy to take here. Bea is great with her.

Poor customer service. Very understaffed. No acknowledgement while I was shopping. Store is messy while they were Stocking. Employees weren't rude, just not attentive at all.

So long story short my fiancé and I wanted a second hamster, we wanted to get the hamster a regular cage that says it’s for hamsters. The lady working there said if we don’t buy a huge fish tank we can’t get the hamster. Worst place to do business. All we wanted to do is save a life as they keep their hamster in a 7 inch cage.

Always greeted. Always ask for rewards number, and a bag. Very helpful never have I had a single employee not want to do their job. Not mention patience with customers most couldn't' handle.

Great, great customer service. Was going fishing and asked for the largest minnows. She took her time to catch only the largest which helped my fishing day a lot.
