Do yourself a favor and go to a different rental company instead. You will be given a hard time here. They will not try to help you, but instead will shrug and tell you to call customer service, which will also try to ignore you. There were multiple charges that we were not informed of. There was a deposit fee that was the price of the rental itself. They switched us to a smaller car without giving us a choice and won’t give us the money back that we spent on the bigger car that we had already paid for. And if you try to cancel your rental, you’ll be trapped by a cancelation fee. If you’re lucky, you might get some of your refund in the form of a check that takes weeks to reach your mailbox. If you even get anything at all. If you’re traveling, save yourself the stress now. They do not care about you. They do not want to help you. They only want your money. 100% a scam. No idea how they are still in business. Go somewhere else.

This was our first time renting a car and I will never use this company again, it feels like a big scam. The staff was rude and very unhelpful. They could barely answer any basic questions and did nothing to make the experience a good one. $500 deposit fee and now a bunch of random charges with no explanation that I have to wait 7-10 days to get back.

The woman who greeted us (brown curly hair) was extremely rude. Rolling her eyes at another customer for asking questions, speaking very condescendingly, and other rude body language. The computer she was at ended up charging another customer about $200 more than he was quoted, to which he rightfully argued that he should receive a discount for his business. She yelled at him for arguing with her, and when she realized it was actually her error, she didn’t apologize.
The man who checked us out was really friendly but wasn’t able to answer basic questions. I don’t recommend coming here.

I have rented from this location before but this time I went to them for advice on a Hertz billing problem. I reserved a car in Honolulu for three days for $375. When the credit card was charged it was $850. I went to my local Hertz office and they were very helpful at identifying the problem and directing me towards the solution. I believe this level of service is from the Tigard office and not Hertz in general.

Absolutely horrible customer service. We reserved a car to pickup at 8 to drive to the airport to catch a flight. We arrived at 9:30 and were told they wouldn't have a car for us for another hour at least. No discount offered and very unapologetic. Don't count on Hertz to follow through!

This location was closed and now reopened. So far I have had good customer service since reopening but prior to closing had 1 bad experience where they cancelled my rental with little notice.

I recently rented a Polestar 2 from Hertz Car Rental in Tigard, Oregon, and the experience was fantastic overall. The Polestar 2 is an incredible electric vehicle. It's sleek, modern, and full of amazing features. The interior is luxurious with super comfy seats and a high-tech infotainment system that made every drive a pleasure. The electric range was impressive, and I loved the smooth, silent ride – it was like driving the future.
Picking up the car at the Tigard location was a breeze. I called ahead to make sure they had an EV available, and they confirmed it right away. When I got there, the staff was efficient and friendly, and I was on my way in no time. I initially rented the car for a week but ended up extending the rental three times, each for an additional week because I was enjoying it so much.
However, when I tried to extend the rental for a fourth time, I ran into a bit of a snag – the system wouldn't allow it. This meant I had to return the car unexpectedly early, at 4 AM. While this was a bit of a hassle, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I got to experience firsthand the outstanding customer service at this location.
I ended up spending over five hours in the Hertz lobby waiting for a ride home, and during this time, the lady working there was incredibly kind and helpful. She was filling in from the Corvallis location because the Tigard office was short-staffed and without a manager. Despite the busy stream of customers, she managed everything with remarkable efficiency and a smile. Her professionalism and kindness were truly appreciated, and she made my wait much more bearable.
I can't recall her name, but she definitely deserves recognition for her outstanding service. She handled a hectic situation with grace and made a lasting impression on me. If Hertz is looking for someone to promote, she's the one, and if I could, I'd take on the management position myself just to give her the raise she deserves.
Overall, my experience with Hertz in Tigard was excellent, thanks in large part to their dedicated staff and the amazing Polestar 2. I highly recommend this location for their great service and fantastic vehicle options.

Did not have any vehicles and still charged me for the reservation as a no show.
I had to delete the original review and repost, after I received a bogus reply from an owner directing me to install and chat via Messenger, which did not work.
Update: Another idiot reply suggesting the same contact methods. Avoid this place at all costs!!!

Female staff member at this location just called to say that there was a screw in my rental car tire after pick-up and I needed to come down in-person to fill out an incident report.
They are only open on weekdays and i work. I can't take time off to go fill out a form across town for a simple screw in a tire. I asked if it could be emailed - no. I asked if they could just take it to Les Schwab and they'll fix it for free - no. I asked them if I could fill out the form at a location that was open on a weekend and they could internally send it to her.
I said those were my only choices. She got mad and said that she's the one who tells me what my options are. I told her again that I could fill it out at a Hertz location open on weekends. She said she wasn't sure if she could do that I said to check with her supervisor. She said, "You know, that's above my pay grade. I'm just going to add the charges to your bill." She then hung up on me.
So she just went rogue and added a charge to my statement without asking a supervisor about what I requested.
Already contacted corporate to investigate.

Car and service were great. I was charged $100 extra though for not filling the tank up fully. I got the tank half full, so I was told to return it half full. I did that. They charged me $100 for it. I contacted them which was almost impossible to get a real person through their phone line. Go to current rentals and then press 4. My rental was over, so I looked for help originally through payment issues which did not have an option for a person. Once I talked to someone, I had to confirm that they would send me an email with the information about the credit adjustment. It has been over a month, and I have not received the credit.Update: Issue was resolved within 24 hours of leaving this review. Befoire that, I was the one reaching out and getting nowhere. The customer service needs to improve, so that customers can be sent to the messenger right away.

I am absolutely appalled by the terrible service I received from Hertz at their Tigard location. I had a reservation for an SUV, which I booked using my credit card, only to be informed after 45 minutes that they had no vehicles available at all! The representative I spoke to was extremely disrespectful and spoke to me in a curt, dismissive tone, making an already frustrating situation even worse. As a customer, I expect a certain level of professionalism and reliability when using a well-known service like Hertz. Not only did they fail to deliver on their promise, but the representative I spoke to was rude and passive-aggressive. This experience has left me feeling disappointed and angry. I would not recommend the Hertz Tigard location.Hertz, if you're listening, please take this as a wake-up call to improve your services and train your staff to treat customers with respect and empathy. I was already near the airport when I made the reservation, and had the online reservation system informed me that no cars were available at the Tigard location, I could’ve have adjusted. Now I’m left in a precarious position. No one should have to go through what I did today.

WORST CAR RENTAL LOCATION.DO NOT USE.Hertz Rep called me on 12/26/23 to schedule my rental date, pick up time, and pick up location. Scheduled for 1/2/24 pick up at 10:15 from Crash Champions off Hunziker (2.3 miles away). On 1/2/24, CALLED ME AT 9:18, an hour before pick up, and tried to schedule my rental date. Informed Hertz rep they had already called and I was supposed to be picked up at 10:15, TODAY, at Crash Champions. Hertz rep quickly informed me they had simply made a mistake, already had my information and would be there 10:15 for pick up.At 9:25, I receive a call stating their driver has had an emergency and they can’t send anyone to pick me up. Hertz rep states they will still have the vehicle, but can’t send anyone to pick me up.I inform Hertz Rep that I am currently on my way to Crash Champions, we scheduled this a week in advance, and that I need Hertz to pick me up.Hertz Rep insisted, “don’t know what you want me to do… Hertz Driver had an emergency… we still have the rental.”It is unlikely that there was any emergency, it is far more likely Hertz Rep made an error and attempted to cover up. Sassing the client and vacating responsibility in a situation you caused, is unacceptable.Easy decision to reschedule with Crash Champions and call insurance to book with Enterprise. No way I would give Hertz money for a 5-7 day rental.Enterprise Rep was MUCH easier to work with and was FAR more knowledgeable about inventory. Also looked into my vehicle to go over what was considered “comparable”.
