John is super friendly and very skilled! I had a fun and quick men's hair cut and wash. I'll definitely go back to John for my next cut!One note, John's Hair Station is now in Sheers Ahead, so when you go see John, just ask for him at the front reception.

I had high hopes for John, because he's located pretty close to my house and not too expensive. But I'm going to have to find someone else. I went to him a few times, and the first couple of times it was fine, but the last time he cut one side of my hair A WHOLE INCH SHORTER than the other! My hair is a little difficult because it is somewhat curly, but it is really a huge difference. It's even really noticeable when I put it in a pony tail! The way he has handled it has not been great either. I didn't notice until I got home, and I didn't call him right away because I had family in town for Christmas. Then I got nervous that he would make it worse when I asked him to fix it. When I did leave him a message asking him to fix it, he offered to fix it the next afternoon, but that was a Wednesday, and I am a teacher who can not easily take off work. I have to write sub plans! (I also feel like if he were really good he would remembered that I've talked a good bit about being a teacher, and I've only made appointments with him on Saturdays.) So I tried to make an appointment the next Saturday with him, but he couldn't do it. Then he stop responding to my voicemails. (I don't think he ever just answers his phone, and he doesn't have an assistant or secretary.) So I guess now I am going to have to pay someone else to fix his mistake. Very unprofessional.

Wonderful experience, John is my kinda people... down to earth, straight forward not to forget a fabulous designer. I welcome you to Portland John, keep spreading the beauty friend. Easy access. Great parking is a plus. Courteous staff... Wahooo, I so pleased to have found John.

I went in for a Balayage and I didn't get what I wanted some spots where missing dye and over all the job looked very choppy and was not done right I wouldn't recommend going back I didn't like how my hair came out and here are some pictures.

Thank you to Dawn for fixing a bad haircut I received elsewhere. She understood that I'm attached to the length, and took off as little as possible to start the process of evening out the longest layer without chopping it off. She was very thoughtful, not drastic. My layers do not look 90s - she removed so much weight while maintaining a modern blunt look in the front. I'm almost due for another one so I'll be booking with Dawn again : )

DAWN IS THE BEST!! She has so much knowledge in not only hair but so many other beauty things, it's crazy!! I was nervous about getting a trim because I didn't want to lose a lot of hair and she did exactly what I asked and I didn't have to cry over any hair loss! I'm an islander so I have so MUCH hair but Dawn had so much patience with me even with the fact that I was her last client on a Saturday! It was such a fun experience because she made sure I was well taken care of. She's a people person so she was so easy to get along with! Definitely going to be a regular client of hers! Thank you Dawn!!

I'm so happy I listened to other reviews and booked my appointment at this friendly and unpretentious salon. Dawn did an awesome job with my lack luster hair and gave me the perfect cut and color I needed. She's nice, talented, thorough, and fast. It's the first time I've walked away from a hair appointment with a smile and exactly what I wanted in a long time.
