Reading these reviews, a noticeable trend is that the majority of 5 star reviews are from W.A.S.P.-y middle aged woman who made donations. See also: virtue signaling, Christ complex, dopamine and serotonin functionI came to read these reviews after talking to some folks who were either denied services here, or were offered services that were stipulated in a manner that worsened their housing situation.Reading the reviews of people who have sought help here, it's clear this place operates as a business more than a resource for helping people gain self sufficiency. No wi-fi? How can anyone make a claim of helping homeless people without providing upward mobility? Reading these reviews has inspired me to seek employment with agencies that govern and police institutions like GNC, and hopefully eradicate them and allocate funding and donations directly to those that need it, absent the moralistic evangelical agenda (Pharisee much?) and totalitarian insensitivity.DIRECT ACTION IS THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO HELP THE HOMELESS. It's not hard to "find" individuals who are worthy of help from the community they are a part of. Find and help those individuals you resonate with by helping them directly.I was homeless for many years as a child, and several times as an adult, oftentimes merely because I was a single male (the least desirable type of tenant) in a competitive housing market, other times because I was self-employed. Last year I earned over $150k through employment and operating my small business, and was unable to secure housing for four months. Sleeping at hotels, rest areas and dispersed camping areas put me in direct contact with many individuals on disability or otherwise unable to work, who were excluded from housing. It's a snowball effect, and being homeless is quite expensive, especially if you are also working or raising a family.WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? CERTAINLY NOT support a corrupt and ineffectual system for perpetuating homelessness and addiction. Jesus was a direct action pioneer. If you are a Christian, maybe read the Bible and follow suit.YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE HOW LIFE CHANGING A MERE $100 CAN BE FOR SOMEONE LIVING ON THE STREET OR IN THEIR CAR. Give freely and quietly. You know, like Jesus did.

I discovered they discriminate against non-American volunteers.

Lost it's focus in the public's interest. Contributing and perpetuating homelessness in the metropolitan by and through thefts of charities and lack of knowable staff (spring 2023). Current management and key individuals in the current team have moved away from the roots at the foundation of this once credible foundation.Hold on to that donation!

I’m not here to rate this place Im just here to ask how, what, who, to go to, to discuss about the racism that been going on inside this place that no one ever addressed it or do anything about it. It’s not ok bully other people just because their race is different. If the staffs, don’t do anything about it, who should we go to? This kind of situation needs to be addressed someone needs to put a stop to it!!

I have only been to GNC one time, to bring some bathroom items and some new socks. BUT it was an excellent experience and talking to Leia about future donations was really helpful. Now I am in contact with the volunteer coordinator and all good! ?. Thx, GNC

This business will take care of you. They are thorough, clear with communication, and honest. They give you all of your potential options and let you decide how you want to move forward with the facts of whatever task you have brought to them. Toby and Juergen turned an otherwise inconvenient situation - into a manageable and less stressful experience. They answered all of my questions with patience and kindness. They also gave me a better deal on the style of tires I wanted than other competing tire centers in the area. Highly recommend!

Definitely a horrible place with horrible staff! They seem friendly but are negative and not helpful with the process they are supposed to be going through! They help who they feel like helping and definitely make it harder situation instead of a easy one! I would recommend thinking twice about this shelter!

I've donated to this organization over 10 yrs. They have short term temporary family housing for several families and accept your food (if you made dinner for 10 and only half is eaten or you bought a Costco cake and have lots left over) as well as food to stock their cupboards. So grateful and appreciate everything. This trip I gave them my baking supplies so they could bake holiday treats since my plans changed and I had no time!

Trying to help out and homeless woman that got beat up by her boyfriend I brought her to this place I was very disappointed when they didn't call the police I thought they were mandatory reporters but I had to make that phone call myself for this young lady that had bumps and bruises on her forehead no woman should have to go through that he should have been beat down what kind of real man would hit a woman

This is a wonderful place to donate to. We try to bring things here when ever we do our seasonal clean out and during the holidays. They take such great care of the families that come through here. Truly a wonderful place

I normally don't leave bad reviews, but if you plan to go here because you are legit homeless, don't. Back in 2018 when me, my wife, and our son was homeless, we had gone here to stay when we were living out of a motel at the time. They seemed nice at the time, but don't let that fool you. They will definitely police your medication and if you don't show up at the times to get the medication, they will give you points that goes towards kicking you out of the shelter. If you do decide to stay here, do your homework first before you decide.
