All I can say is they OVER promise and UNDER deliver. They said my relatively simple frontend damage would take 2-3 weeks. They found more damage which is understandable, then had many issues ordering parts. After a few weeks after the expected completion time the office was broken into and keys were stolen. So they couldn't move the cars for a week. The keys were eventually found and they continued to 'work' on the car. I never got updates and had to call in, leaving multiple messages, eventually having to go to the shop to get answers. They are full of excuses. Once the work was done they couldn't get the AC to work, but it worked fine thru the summer after the damage. They wanted to charge me extra to fix the issue they most likely caused! They somehow got the insurance to pay for it (which I would never have done). Then they wouldn't let me take possession of my car until they had proof from my insurance the check was issued which took an additional week, mostly because I called every day trying to get my car back. All told I dropped my car off before labor day and didn't get it back until mid-November. All of this hassle for superficial damage. I would never use this shop again!

AVOID IF YOU VALUE YOUR SAFETY- NEGLIGENT TECH NEARLY GOT ME KILLED!This place will rob you and endanger your life and not think twice.I had a small leak in the front end of my gas line, AAA towed my van in and later that day they called and said it was all fixed. I picked it up and went to the gas station where $50 worth of gas dumped out from directly under my gas tank when the car was not even running. A totally new issue clearly caused by canyon. I called them and they refused to tow me and tried to tell me to drive with the gas leaking everywhere.I told them that was incredibly unsafe to start the car and refused to do so. I ended up having to abandon the van at the gas station to force them to come pick it up. The next day they refused a request to tow it to my home, made me take a third uber, and said they would charge me double for gas to test if the leak was actually fixed this time. The manager said he would follow me to the gas station to see if it worked but that was "the best he could offer."When I pointed out that they had caused the leak and I shouldn't be charged 500 dollars for fixing an issue they clearly caused when I just paid them 300 the day before for fixing an issue they didn't fix. He then said that because I got "hostile" he would no longer accompany me to the gas station to make sure the leak was actually fixed, and charged me full price. Don't go here, you'll get ripped off if you're lucky, and maybe put in serious danger.

I went to CARC for post collision repairs. I worked with Edgar, the office manager. Edgar was professional and provided me detailed statements of repair costs. My vehicle took twice the initial anticipated time due to delivery of parts and painting taking longer to dry and finish which were understandable. I would have appreciated updates from the office regarding the repairs instead of me calling the office every other day and asking for updates.

Canyon Auto Repair and Autobody in Tigard repaired a dent on my STI. They also attempted a DEQ test my wife's car.-Estimated repair cost: $554+/-; Final Cost: $654+/--DEQ test: Listed on DEQ site = $30. In Reality = $39 Device fee+ $39 Processing Fee+$8 shop supplies (what supplies?)+$3 Hazardous Materials (what hazardous materials?)+ $.47 tax (on what?) = $89.47-Positives:1. Timeliness: I put my car in on a Wednesday for body work, done on Friday afternoon. Mr. Nguyen kept his promise.2. Competitive pricing on autobody: I got quotes from 5 other shops & Canyon Auto Repair was on the lower end of the average.3. Very Good Quality of Body Repair at price point: typically I can see fairly quick where the repair was done. Lifetime warrantee on their work just like about every other shop I've gone to.4. The owner, Mr. Hung Nguyen is friendly & energetic.-Negatives:1. Suspicious DEQ testing procedures. Your check engine light may come on for no reason while being "tested" there, even if it's never done it before coming to Canyon Auto. Then a mechanic will ask if you'd like them to diagnose it & of course charge you & probably ask to "repair" it too. They don't honor advertised price.2. Sub-par quality of the cleanup & protecting the rest of the vehicle during body repair operations: I had white residue all over inside & outside my car. That's how I got my car as "ready". I've always got a quick wash-down like I get from all other body shops.3. I hand-washed my car & noticed my left badge fender bezel area dull unlike my right side. Somehow, the paint or coating has been dulled on the lower portion; tell-tell sign of overspray. Additionally, some of the top pop-up fasteners that secure the intake assembly were not secured; they were simply placed in the holes loosely. It's a good thing none of them fell when I drove off.4. I was charged for removal of the two headlight assemblies in order to "remove the front bumper". But that was unnecessary since they're not connected to the front bumpers. There's one-fastener on the left headlight assembly that would need to be removed for the left fender. So I convinced Mr. Nguyen to remove the charge for the right headlight assembly removal & installation, but decided to not argue the left side since someone not familiar with Subaru could've conceivably removed the left headlight to get to the left fender; that brought the price down to 15% above the estimates. Now I think, they probably charged extra for work that appears legit, but not necessary. I won't ever be able to confirm they removed the headlights. Usually the first thing I do before repairs is figure out how things work. If they-did-that-too they would've concluded that taking the headlights was unnecessary. Conclusion: Even if some of the end-result was decent, there's better places that feel more honest. Maybe they're making up on other things for the cheap rates. I haven't had any other repairs with them. My family & I will probably not take it to a used car lot anyway. For better than Maaco-autobody work I think they're competitive in pricing with labor costs comparable to many shops in the Tigard area (e.g. ACE Auto Body labor is $50/hr vs. Canyon Auto Repair is $53/hr & etc.). They should really tighten up their quality control when it comes to protecting the rest of the car & final cleanup though; it's a problem with a lot of shops, but this is the worst I've experienced. For autobody work, I give them a 3-stars based on my previous experience with other shops & my own expectations. But 1-star for slighting customers with bogus check engine lights & expensive DEQ testing just to make a few extra bucks. My wife drove her car with the check engine light on straight to DEQ in Sherwood. Miraculously the check engine light turned off after a while. She paid $25@DEQ instead of $90+@ Canyon Auto for the same test & the car passed same day. Ca

If I could give them negative stars I would. DO NOT take your vehicle to Canyon Auto Repair. If you do, be prepared to pay TWICE what you were quoted, have them do work that doesn't need to be done (they claim to have replaced BRAND NEW fluids and charged me $700 for that even though I never requested or agreed to it), be treated rudely, and threatened with a mechanic's lien if you protest their overcharges.Anyone who's made the mistake of using them because of Costco's 15 percent coupon, I highly recommend calling Costco (800-556-4730) to urge Costco remove them from the program. Also, be warned that they "accept credit card" but CHARGE 3 percent so if you don't have thousands of cash on hand you'll be forced to pay it.Edited to add: Not only does Hung Nguyen's (who doesn't reveal his full name, but is perfectly fine using mine in violation of Yelp guidelines) response not contain a single truthful statement, but many of his accusations, which he makes without any proof and which are outright lies, are libelous. So be further warned if you write a negative review about the horrible experiences you have with Canyon Auto Repair you will be threatened, libeled, and falsely accused of things you never did.Edited to add: now that we've driven the car for a bit, it appears that not only did Canyon Auto Repair charge us to allegedly replace brand new fluids, they apparently did not actually replace the starter, either. We are having exactly the same problems with the "new" starter that we had before we made the mistake of subjecting our vehicle to their abuse.

Had my Subaru STI autobody work done there a few years back. My wife was-going to have her car DEQ'd there until they pushed it with "additional repairs" based on a check engine light that so-happened to only come on when it was at Canyon Auto Repair.Positive:1. The initial estimates look really good; i.e., Canyon Auto Repair was cheaper than most & quite reasonable comparatively to other shops in the area.2. The overall repair was pretty good for the initial price-point; that is, if-the estimated cost was the actual cost in the end, but it wasn't. It was higher in the end.3. The owner was energetic, friendly and cordial and not very pushy.4. the facility is clean and comfortable to wait in and the location is convenient for anyone living in the Southern SW Portland-Tigard-King City area. In fact, it's close to a lot of places so you can multi-task your day while you wait for your car to be serviced.5. Contested a few charges as being unnecessary and it was removed from overall invoice (But say I don't know any better; I would've paid for unnecessary work, no?)Negatives:1. To me, they make up for the "cheap" labor costs by charging for work that doesn't really need to be done. In my case, they were repairing the driver's side fender and then invoiced me for things like the removal and installation of headlights. But, the headlights don't need to be removed in order to remove the front bumpers so the driver's fender can be removed for work. In fact, it adds more work to remove the headlights. That would be fairly obvious with a bit of studying how things are put together. Then again, how would I know they even removed and re-installed the headlights if they didn't have to to begin with? And yet they could still charge me for the disassembly and installation process that was never actually done. That's just one example of "stuff they could charge you and if you don't know any better would simply suck it up" category.2. The car was filthy with all dust debris on the outside and all over the dash and seats inside the car. They didn't bother protecting anything or even cleaning up after themselves after it was "finished".3. Overspray everywhere. I had some of it corrected elsewhere. Obviously, if you can't do the job right and I can't trust you to do the right thing the first time, why should I go back to you? I'd rather pay to correct your lack of attention to detail than have it worse with you trying to correct your own mistake.4. I hadn't noticed until a week later after cleaning my car the small scratches around other parts of the body that weren't there before. They were easily buffed out, but still. Totally careless in protecting the other portions of the car.5. Never have your DEQ done here! Don't be lazy, go to an official DEQ center where it will be done correctly, faster and cheaper. They charge nearly $90 to have your DEQ done. Plus you'll have to pay your registration fee on top of that too. They also put on their invoice the $25 fee that DEQ charges you when you have your car tested. Why in the world would I go here if you're going to also charge the DEQ fee on top of your own fee? They'll add bogus charges for hazardous waste and shop supplies and...tax. The tax was very minimal, but what is that for, tourism? And what "hazardous waste", the technician doing the work?6. Speaking of DEQ, your check engine light may miraculously come on while you're there even though it has never done that before. They will happily offer to look into it and repair it for you before you have your DEQ testing done...for a nominal cost, of course. Never add more work and thus chew up more time for someone who is on a schedule that day. Your rip-off scheme will fail at that point. Of course, once the car was back home, I cranked that engine on again. I was ready with my OBD-II to read whatever error the engine was kicking out, but alas that check engine light was mirac

Horrible Horrible: Long story short it take 3 month to get my son car back and the problem is still there. Please save yourself a headache and don't take your car to this place: this place it a disaster, Ridiculous, complete waste of time. Lack of communication this place need a whole new management stay away from Edgar he is not TRUSTWORTHY he is very manipulative and dishonest over charging insurance outrageous mark up fees which we have to pay out of pocket because insurance wouldn't pay it. make sure to get everything in writing not verbally (even though I told him to run by me and the insurance for approval) his exact words to me and my sons "don't worried insurance will pay for it and nothing out of pocket" I will not refer my Family, Friends, Co-worker or anyone to this place. If I could I would give a negative star.

Great, honest experience. Thomas was kind and happy to get us in quickly and out same day. They also have Koalafi which is a no credit check financing that allowed us to get our repair done and paid off next check. Highly recommend this place.

Nobody else were taking appointments on july 5th and i was so stressed! Literally no one was available. But when we called this place, they had availability as early as 8am! I was planning a trip and had a sudden car issue and was able to drive away by 11 on my merry way! Thank you for lifting the stress off my shoulders that day, so appreciated. The guy at the front desk who answers the phones and gets people checked in was also very kind and great at customer service! Give him a raise lol

I’m from out of town, my daughter is at the hospital. Our car wouldn’t start at the Walmart hear in Tigard. I searched all over for somebody who would tell me the right stuff. Literally just somebody who would do what they say. They would on their website. These people were extremely genuine; real people. Super grateful for them. These people here helped me out tremendously. I really appreciate you all. Thank you.

They did a good job fixing water pump on my car. The repair done was good and vehicle was returned on time as promised. I was traveling thru Oregon when my water pump started leaking, they were very understanding and took my car in the same day and repaired the same day without over charging and taking advantage, even tho they are really busy…Ross and Steve provided excellent service. Thank you !

They spent about 2 months getting my car back to me. It was trashed inside when I got it back. Hood shakes on highway. They say they have a lifetime warranty, but 'miraculously' dont have anything in writing. Refuse to redo repair in spite of 3 other shops telling me it was shoddy work. If you're a woman, expect that youll be taken advantage of! VERY DISAPPOINTED ? I also notice in other reviews that not once does the owner attempt to make any attempt to "right" the bad review. They simply throw it back on the customer!! Sad this is how sooo many businesses behave.

As per my last post about these unprofessionals-- indeed they replied it was my fault and I was in another "accident". A picture says a lot more than my words, and puts him (the owner) below the mark of a conscientious business owner. Refused ALL repairs and refused my offer to pay for part of it. Shame on Canyon Auto "Repair" in Tigard! My car is white, so the paint may be a challenge to see how bad it is-- and note the 'accident' where no damage is around it. Hmmmm

My car's alternator unfortunately went out while visiting from out of town. This shop went outside of their normal Saturday routine to get my part in and replace it quickly. I'm grateful they were willing to work on my car in short notice. Ross at the Tigard location is very awesome to work with.
