Unfortunately, you will always need an appointment. I had a specimen drop off that is supposed to be frozen. Waiting times do not allow for frozen specimens.

Walked in to do a routine blood draw and had someone that had been sitting there over an hour. Walked out the door as I did not have an appointment!Poor choice by Providence!
