Zack and Rick are so helpful despite the massive influx of orders recently. I haven't dealt a lot with Rick but I can tell you that Zach is friendly, professional, knowledgeable, flexible, and as prompt as his time will allow for. If you're in need of exotic woods, especially ones that can't be sourced locally, there's no one else to call. And if you're in the Orange County area, maybe I can do your install, Thompson Custom Remodeling :D

I gave 1 star because you can't give zero or less. Please, I beg you, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH RICK CAMPBEL , owner of Hardwood Decking Supply. I have never left a review for anyplace before, but I felt so strongly about this experience I was compelled to sign up to Yelp just for this. I have worked in the construction field for 31 years, the past 19 as a General Contractor. This has been hands down the worst place to deal with. I initially placed order beginning of May and they somehow lost my order and didn't tell me until they were out of product, but Rick does not seem to understand what communication means. Easily 15+ phone messages and many emails, all with no reply. He finally calls me back in July and says they have my order ready. I give Rick CC info and he assures me they will honor my original estimate from May "to the dollar". But they dont He has Zac email me back 4 days later explaining why they now have to increase price. I refuse and explain why. Gave complete history of call log and emails. AMD the time and dates Rick promises that the order is on it's way. 5 more days go by and Rick emails me and says. "Not selling to you, Go buy somewhere else". Now I have to go back to my usual supplier and pay 30% more than what it would have cost me back in May if I never would have wasted my time with Rick. Then I read the other reviews here. Many with similar stories. Especially the poor communication. I will warn as many people as possible. If you are going to order hardwood on line go with Oversees Hardwood or Advantage Lumber. They keep their promises, unlike Rick Campbell.

I purchased Ipe and Ipe Oil from Hardwood Decking Supply to build a landing and stairs. The wood was so beautiful I made a second purchase to build a wall. Great quality and customer service!

Dont buy from this company! The Tigerwood is good but the shipping company is incompetent. I had to become the shipping company from the Santa Rosa hub,at my own expense and valuable time.Rick agreed to compensate me,that was 3 months ago!Still nothing...will remove when paid.The latest-paperwork sent in long ago,Christmas has passed,well into the new year...crickets...Rick,Zack and their shipping co.missed the boat on customer service.

I reached out to hardwood decking supply on June 1st by email with a precise list of lumber I needed. I got a response on June 2nd and confirmed I wanted to proceed with order both by email and over the phone. I send again an email on June 8th with urgency to close on this due to lack of further communication (they were suppsoed to send me paperwork to do order). Here we are June 11th and still no response. June 11rh Update: Zac contacted me and apologized for the lack of response. He promised to complete PO and ship all the wood the same day. I received it today June 15th with the IPE oil, sxrews, etc... Although this didn't start well, I am satisfied with the end resolution and the quality of the product for an excellent price. Moving to 4 stars,

Our Tigerwood arrived wrapped in a plastic tarp and was on a pallet from a reputable shipper. The wood looks beautiful !!!I would recommend HDS to my friends and family.

This Tigerwood company started out good. Rick and Zack are slick salesmen. All was good till the truck got to Santa Rosa and the shipping company couldn't deliver to my house,which is not that difficult. I gave up,after loosing days I didn't have,and rented out a truck from Enterprise,and driving the wood up to my house,unloading and driving the truck back. Whoever loads and straps the wood did an incompetent job so some boards were lost,I finally got all the boards,and Rick agreed to compensate me for the truck rental plus my valuable time. 2 months later,after repeated promises to credit my account and over a dozen calls,nothing,this company should not be in business.

I purchased some camaru boards for a small deck, based on reviews and pictures on the internet. Hardwood Decking Supply sent me some really beautiful pieces, fairly consistent in color and pattern and just enough to finish my project (based on stated square footage). This wood is hard! And the honey color very pleasing. I'm very happy with the service, quality and lead time provided by HDS and would be happy to recommend to any friend.

Had a great experience purchasing decking materials from HDS, they did a good job communicating with me, materials were shipped super fast and the tiger wood was great a great value.. no hesitation to buy here again
