Think twice before booking here!!!!!!!My husband and I decided to take a quick trip to Shady Cove. We stayed at the Edgewater Lodge. From the website, despite the unfavorable reviews surrounding cleanliness, outdated and the staff i. The office is unfriendly. It looked very charming and cool to be on the river. As we pulled up, it was very charming, but yes outdated for sure. We were formed about a $250.00 fee for smoking in the room and 10 feet around the room. We respected that policy!!!! The stay was short but nice. An hour after checking out, we were charged 250.00!! I could not imagine what for. I called and they said we had smoked in the room and left ashes outside our room! Very appalling to be accused of this. We explained that those ashes could have been from anyone especially the two neighbors on either side of us who were smoking on their patios. They even have cameras surrounding the hotel. We asked them to view the footage to proof it was not us ,but they refused! I called three times and requested to speak to the manager and every time I called she was not available and I never received a call back!!!! They suggested I email her on their email address. I did twice and didn’t not receive a courtesy email back! I am guessing that’s why their nightly stay is not too expensive, they find other ways to offset less touristy times and generate more income during slow seasons by charging a $250.00 smoking fee to their customers after checking out. Note to self…. Take pictures before and after staying at the Edgewater!!!! Buyer beware!!!!!!

The smell in my room was literally unbearable. Let me just tell you. It smelled like rotten cottage cheese that had been stuffed in used socks and left to marinate for 2 years. I wouldn't be surprised if that was actually hidden somewhere in the room because it was so smelly. The beds had the same stink to them. Every time I turned over, I could smell a new wave of putrid smells. And the bathroom was even worse because there were parts of the toilet seat stained yellow. The floor had a ton of stains on them as well. We couldn't do anything about it or ask to switch rooms because they closed at 9 PM. It was terrible. The only good thing I can mention is the pretty river view.

I stayed here last night 11/12-23. It’s a pretty place. However, I have RA and the beds were like sleeping on stone. Most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Pillows very hard too. Toilet was very low also. Extremely difficult room for someone with arthritis. I spoke to the front desk and they couldn’t care less ?♀️$135.00 for a terrible night.I was told some rooms have better beds and higher toilets. Very frustrating.I’m in so much pain today from that terrible bed.

Called to confirm reservation just to be told They wanted a $300 deposit for a $96 room. They said it was because we are locals. Priceline were we booked didn’t say there was any deposit and that the hotel is violating Priceline policies. Not worth anyone’s time or money in my honest opinion.

I do love this place, great location and nature right in your backyard with a beautiful river. I did had to ask about 2-3 times for my tub to be cleaned for it looked alittle dusty with couple hairs in it. I did come across one the standing lamps was missing a bulb. The rest was great. Good room, nice & cozy, still great services. Convenient store across the way along with a book store, deli shop & mink grocery store near by( walkable 2-4 min. ) I would come back again honestly.

Personally would not come back. The place was very old and run down. Really overpriced for what you were getting as well. Even though we asked for a no view, cheap room. And then not very clean. Hairs in the tub and candy wrappers and a paper cup on the floor by the bed.We ended up leaving and getting a much nicer place for cheaper with an ocean view. And comes with a complementary breakfast. Almost half the price for it.I will say the receptionist at Edgewater was friendly and helpful.

Felt clean and safe, right on the river and less than an hour from Crater Lake! The staff is helpful, too - we left a bag behind, and they got it back to us in less than a week with no hassle whatsoever.

Very nice roadside motel. Everything is clean and usable. The towels are substantial, The only downside is that the toilet is tiny.

Loved the mini couch and fridge.Nearby activities: Restaurants close by and main highway 62 block away.Safety: Felt very safe. Lots of lighting throughout property and pool.Walkability: Close to main street with all the stores and shops.

The room was nice, clean & quiet, a bit dated. Water pressure was okay not too bad. Front Desk was very nice, friendly & helpful. My room is riverview; open the patio doors the river is right there.Small town but lots of outdoor activities and make sure to stock foods & drinks for the night. Everything is closed early.

Overall it's acceptable. The rooms are cool in that they give you a full kitchen with real appliances and even utensils/dishes. Parking was easy. Air conditioner worked well. They allowed my cat. River view was nice. But the room had some fairly remarkable inadequacies. For starters, my room, which was a pet friendly room, had some awful stench of animal feces/urine/fur which drove everyone crazy (including my cat). I know this is par for the course to some extent with pet friendly rooms but this was egregious. It really smelled bad. Also the freezer had some horrible gunk in it which I tried to clean (not my job to do this, but I was bored) and that is when I realized that this blue gunk is some inter-dimensional protomolecule that simply can not be removed. I seriously don't know what this is. I tried to wipe it down and it just absorbed my paper towel and made the mess even bigger. Someone else can slay this dragon. It's too big for this old country boy.

I would highly recommend a stay at Edgewater Inn! The rooms are clean and spacious and if you book a river view room it feels like you're staying in a much more expensive hotel! I've read past reviews that said the rooms need updating, but I think they have been updated since those reviews as I don't agree with them. Also I've read that nobody is available at the front desk, however, they must have corrected this also as it's clearly stated at the front door what the hours are, and the front desk person also told us in detail about their hours and availability! We had a little mix up with our reservation and the manager was quite accommodating! We were very happy with our stay here, and would stay again!
