Decided to stop and check out a new Hundai on a whim and we came home with an absolute gem of a car, used but loaded top of the line in like new condition. The sales rep, Say, was great to work with. Couldn’t be more delighted with the service, definitely worth your while to check out this dealership.

Ammon: 5 stars.
I don't like big dealerships, especially Salem dealerships. Ammon changed my mind. Patient, knowledgeable, friendly. Not pushy ?
Thank you!

I'm a satisfied customer. When they made a mistake, they fixed it quickly, and provided a courtesy car for the duration.

I have owned many cars and had many service experiences and this one was, by far, the worst. My car is a 2022, and we brought it in for a service in May. A few weeks later, I had a check engine error that I brought in for an appointment Monday morning. I left my car and my husband drove me home. Later I got a call saying they had to order parts so it would be a couple days. I told them I'd definitely need a car and they said they wanted to make sure I was comfortable. My car is a Tucson, but they gave me a sedan. I didn't complain bc I figured it would only be a few days. I hadn't heard a word so called to check in. When my service rep called back they said my entire engine wiring was corroded and it would be 6-8 weeks to fix. I asked if I could be swapped to a larger car with roof racks as we kayak and paddleboard often and if I was to be without it for most of the summer I'd need something that was comparable to my own car. Man was that a tall order. JP, the manager at the rental department was condescending and rude and told me it would be virtually impossible. I told him no urgent rush but if he could find something in the next week or two, that was fine. Heard nothing and had to call back again after almost 2 weeks. He told me no again. I had to call back to the GM and raise concerns and suddenly they had a car that fit my needs ready to go. I went to pick up the car and JP made comments about how much I drove the rental - typically that's what you do with a car...drive. The SUV they gave me stunk SO bad that I spent the majority of the time with the windows down. It smelled like someone had smoked in that car and they tried to clean it or cover it up with shampoo. JP also made it very clear no dogs, no non paved roads and no out of state driving. Okay - I guess it's a good thing we have another car? I didn't bother complaining because it was such a task to even get a larger comparable vehicle. After speaking to the GM the service team escalated my parts and said my car would be ready a few weeks early. Again - I figured I'd just deal with the rental and hope my car was ready soon. A week and a half later my car was ready. Awesome! Went to pick it up and it was filthy. Now, I didn't drop my car off empty thinking it would be a short time and it certainly wasn't new car clean but the condition I got it back in was so appalling. Nothing was bothered to be wiped down, they emptied all my belongings into a box and tossed it on the back seat. Scuffs on my window made it difficult to drive so I had to take a sponge and buff them out. Fingerprints and dust everywhere. Every single warranty service I've had at EVERY other dealer I've had over the years at the very least wipes things down and maybe vacuums. Most also run it through the car wash. None of that was done. Since my husband wasn't with me I left after taking pictures. Calling Hyundai directly they asked me to take it back to the service manager to address. I told him maybe if I had my husband I would. At that point they said that's a red flag for them and they escalated it. This whole experience was unprofessional from start to finish. Some of the service team were very nice but my rep was frankly annoyed to deal with me and horrible at communicating. I have enough heavy stuff in my life that I try very hard to be patient and understanding with people I encounter - especially those in service who probably get enough abuse from customers. However, I was not treated as a valued customer and my vehicle was treated with such disrespect. I don't know that I'll keep this car even though I love it because I can't trust the service team I have. I'll have to drive 45+ minutes to another service department if I decide to keep it, because I won't go back here. I certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, but for sure not women. Update: I got Hyundai involved & asked that the dealership pay to get my car cleaned. Justin the GM refuses to provide cleaning

Freddie and Dylan were great to work with on our recent purchase of an Ioniq 5. The dealership environment is very comfortable and modern. Freddie took time to explain the vehicle, and the process. Overall, one of the most professional car buying experiences in our extensive history.

I chose Withnell because of their reviews, lifetime warranty, and amount of time as a business. I came to the dealership 3 times before making a purchase. I worked with Alex during the first visit and then with Freddie on behalf of Alex for the next two visits. Alex was kind and helpful during our first visit when I wasn't ready to make a decision. The next two visits, Freddie was amazing, kind, patient, and so very helpful and understanding when some unforeseen circumstances with my previous car caused me some stress and the need for me to switch my focus a bit. Freddie answered all my questions and went above and beyond...even coming in on his day off to accommodate my needs. When I finally made a decision, Freddie and Dillon made the purchase process seamless and quick. I will recommend Withnell to anyone looking to purchase a Hyundai. Thank you, Alex, Freddie, and Dillon! I hope the service department can match your customer service when I go in for scheduled maintenance!!

This dealership has some fundamental issues with customer service. I have now had to deal with 2 recalls at separate times. I called and made an appointment weeks out (which is fine) but I show up and they don't even have the part to fix the recall. 2 TIMES. I have to drive 20 miles, take this time out of my day scheduling an hour plus the time it takes to drive there and back is another hour.
I don't understand how they can make an appointment tment to fix something without first checking if they have the part. If they did they sure didn't hold it for my car.
No compensation for this either.
They need to learn how to do their job right.

I bought a used car from Withnell Hyundai recently and had a great experience. Freddie was wonderful on making sure everything worked out and I stayed within my price range. He explained everything in detail throughout the process and was very friendly. Also, he went above and beyond when we hit some challenges. Needless to say I have a 2020 SUV that is in great condition and looks brand new. If you need a vehicle make sure to request Freddie he will make sure you have exactly what you need and fights for you until the end. Thank you again Hyundai for the great customer service and getting me in my dream SUV. ?

I dreaded buying a car through a dealer. So much so that I actually went without a car for an additional two weeks. Chris at Withnell completed everything VIA TEXT. I saw pictures and all questions were answered. I was financed through a partnering agency so it was super simple and fast. Scheduled to drive from Portland to Salem (they were the only dealer to have the trim I wanted: Calligraphy Palisade Night, black on black, within 150 miles!). Chris worked with my hectic schedule and was even understanding when I had to reschedule a day. He held my car for me and from test drive to signing paperwork was less than an hour. It took longer to drive to Salem! Car was clean and free from damage! Bill did my paperwork. Awesome guy. laid back, no nonsense, got me in and out. We will be back to purchase my mom's new car in a couple of months.

This is the most dishonest company I've ever dealt with. Took our car in for a recall and all of a sudden our car develops all kinds of problems while there. They offer no kind of courtesy car. This is after we already had the card diagnostically tested and everything was okay. All because we took it to them for a recall problem now we have no car. And they're trying to make us pay for their mistakes. If you want to honest mechanic don't pick them.

As always with dealerships, be careful before proceeding!
I was quoted $340 for a complete tire replacement at the Service Department after having to get towed to the dealership (I had no choice) due to a tire puncture. They took one quick look at the tire and deemed the tire irreparable.
I didn’t believe them so I took the tire off and hopped in an Uber to Discount Tire… they actually opened the tire and assessed it and told me it was a simple fix… FREE.
Saved $340 by not getting service at the dealership.
I only gave 3 stars because the staff were friendly and cooperative… but as always, be careful.

My fiancé and I had such a good experience here. Our sales person, Say Pathammavong, was very patient while we decided what car we wanted- we took awhile! He provided a lot of information that we were looking for ( & his wife bought us lunch) and even helped us get as close to budget as we were hoping for. Great personality too! And finance was really quick getting us out of there, also a great guy just can’t remember his name. 10/10 experience, great group of people and a great group of cars.

Buying a car with them was great. What happened next wasn’t. A safety feature on the car that I bought failed to work and when I brought this fact to the attention of the dealer they told me they were willing to buy the car from me at market value; which would be a 10k loss for me. I purchased the car two months ago, specifically because it had the safety feature that failed. If life’s a lesson then perhaps they’ll learn theirs, I’ve learned mine.
