they refuse to hire staff and expect us to use self checkout, supporting the unemployment crisis. line took FOREVER. not even busy. still love safeway because of their deals and app and convince but seriously hire people.also, everything seems to be expired, like they need more staff being attentive to stuff.

My lovely brother ordered us the Thanksgiving meal again this year along with a meat and fruit tray (price jumped up $30, since last year) and only for a 10 lb turkey, and 4 sides, which one is cranberry sauce (who eats that) and now you don't even get a pie or rolls anymore. I go to pick up my order and they can't find it. Oh no! Not again! The exact same thing happened last year. The staff were great! Even though they couldn't find my order, they made me one up. AND threw in a pie and rolls for the trouble. The meat and fruit tray was made right then to. They went above and beyond. Even if this was messed up 2 years in a row, I would go back because they ran around getting what I needed to fulfill my order. (Thank goodness for receipts) it's my go-to store anyway because they are close to home

Right now if u go to the Safeway on Lancaster and silverton a region manager from arizona will be doing a walk through but they have all the shelf’s stock up , bakery, hot food already!! And brought over extra employees from other stores to help … so go now lol the lies the stores do cause this store never is ever stocked up !!!

I fully recognize this Safeway hasn't had the best rap. For years, I dreaded going because I knew what to expect: disorganized produce section, questionable maintenance, dated interior, and worst of all, incredibly shoddy service. This part of Salem was never the nicest, but slowly but surely things have been turning around. Fast forward a few years and I'm actually quite pleased with the direction they've been trending toward. They've clearly cleaned up their act (#1) and the store has never looked better. The floors are shining, the produce is on point, and the store as a whole looks pretty organized. Service varies across the board naturally, but having gone here fairly often in the last few months have been friendly and fun encounters. I was able to pick out a nice bouquet of flowers in the floral section with the help of an associate and someone was able to guide me to the right area of the store for spices and seasoning. I've gotten no attitude, which is a vast improvement from the past. Where I would give them less kudos is their pricing. I know the pandemic has resulted in higher price tags across the board. There are a lot of nearby grocery / department stores that feature much of the same stuff for a lot less. _____________ (#1) Literally. It's a whole new store when you've got renovated digs and the staff who keep it looking that way.

Had a pickup order from the floral department . Went to go pick up the order but the girl working there said she hadn't received any orders and so I asked her if she can point me in the direction of the flowers I was looking for. All she said was "sorry the person that usually works floral isn't here today and I don't know where those flowers are". If your gonna put someone to work in a department, at least put someone that knows about it. I also asked the manager for help and they where of no help either. Worst customer service ever.

For a $50 cake, I was very disappointed in the quality. I ordered a vanilla cake with whipped topping with fresh strawberries. I was concerned it might not be sweet but was surprised the cake was so sweet tasted that hardly anybody touched the cake. It was the worst cake I have ever ordered. Will never order cake from here again.

I ordered cupcakes for my daughter's birthday over the phone, and the order was not placed. The manager Mac said it could have been thrown away, and there was nothing she could do for us. She actually said it was our fault since we placed the order over the phone. The associate and the manager were so rude. The manager said she was too busy to help us or find some type of solution. One of the associate actually rolled her eyes at me.

This review is for the pharmacy. My husband and I stopped in to see if he could get his Covid booster. The guy at the counter was nothing short of rude and impatient, but that was not the worst of it. We filled out the paperwork and he told us to go and wait in the "waiting room." I have never been a more depressing, dirty, cluttered waiting area in my life. This is supposed to be a medical visit and yet it is so dirty it felt like you could get some kind of infection just sitting there. The floor was stained and looked like it hadn't seen a vacuum since the late 90's, the garbage cans were overflowing and most of the room looked more like a storage closet. After about 10 mins a "pharmacist" raced thru calling my husbands name as he went by and we followed him into another even dirtier room where the vaccine was to take place. The pharmacist looked like he had just gotten out of bed and picked up his dirty lab jacket from the floor; not professional at all. He quickly gave the shot and just as quickly raced out the door as we were asking some questions and he answered them from the next room on his way out. Overall, happy to get my husband fully vaccinated with his booster, but I wont be telling my friends to go there to get theirs!

Really expensive pricing. clean store and organized, but I've never spent more for less, nearly every product is at a marked up price, and the "club discounts" will still be more costly than another cheaper grocery store. For convenience I recommend, but for full purpose shopping i would avoid the place or be surprised at the register

Honestly some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I went in to Safeway to purchase a few things for my birthday this upcoming weekend, and saw there was a sale on 12 packs of soda that was buy two, get two free. I typically would never get four cases of soda, but since there was a sale, I grabbed four. I asked the cashier while checking out to make sure I got the sale price, because those cases come out to like $9 each with deposit. I trusted the cashier when she said I had received the sale price, That was a mistake. Upon arriving home and looking at my receipt, I saw that I was charged full price for all four cases. I called the store to see what I could do to make it right. I was notified that one of the types of soda I got was on a deal that was buy two get one free, so since I didn't grab the two types I'd get free, I didn't get any free despite being told that I had gotten the sale, the associate then told me I couldn't even return or exchange the soda to get my almost $20 extra dollars spent back, because of covid. Understandable, however she then said they would do nothing to make the situation right, at a time when most are struggling financially. I'm baffled at the quality of customer service I received tonight. I specifically asked the cashier to make sure I was getting the sale price, and she assured me I did. Then the store refused to give me my money back. I called their corporate office and filed a complaint, I'm awaiting a call back. I won't be returning to this Safeway. I'll stick with Fred Meyer, as they actually care about their customers.

This particular store is awful. I live less then a mile from them and used to go a bit since it was near. About 4 or 5 months ago I witnessed a deli employee running ragged as his co worker was complaining she needed his help outside with her bbq. He had to asked "Really? I have customers in here and I can't help you. You can help me if you want then I can help you but if not go find someone else." She excepted him to drop everything to help her and ignore the customers.

1 star worst sushi I ever had I bought two 4:99 each.wanted to surprise my friend with sushi to brighten her day what a embarrassement!! It's was old the rice dry. Actually the worst food I ever had. Need to follow the manager lead at the Keizer store deli is the best .they get 5 star. If I could your store should be 0 stars. I'm sorry it's just the truth!!
