Edit to add: When you read the reviews on this page, please remember that while every single person has a valid experience, 1. a lot of these negative reviews are from people who have just experienced a crisis and are in a heightened state, 2. VCA is NOT an emergency vet and instead directly recommends Wilvet Salem for emergency services, and 3. A lot of us regulars forget to review, but are regulars for a reason.I come here every month and I'm a member of the care plan. I have a senior cat who needs a little extra care, and every single staff member I've talked to here goes above and beyond to make sure she's comfortable and healthy! They're very gentle but efficient, and the care plan is worth it in my opinion - it covers the cost of each wellness check, yearly vaccines, and 1x/yr check-ins like bloodwork, fecal, etc - so the only thing I usually pay separately is just for her actual medication. I won't lie and say it's cheap, but it's definitely not more expensive than similar care in our area, and it's absolutely worthwhile if you need to come in more than a couple times a year.

I wish I had gone to this place sooner! The office has a nice atmosphere and they treat your pet like family.

This place sucks! They will charge you $84.50 and if you accidentally miss your appt. They have no mercy and will keep your money or charge you again to rebook an appt!

VCA has gone downhill in quality, customer service and has new doctors that are disrespectful. Save your time, money and energy from being wasted here. There are plenty of other great vets in town that will treat you better.

I had to take my elderly cat here because she suddenly stopped eating and obviously in today's world last minute vet appointments don't exist. All they sent me home with was L lysine when she had an infection. I wound up taking her back twice more, and as anyone who has gone here knows it's not cheap and the vet techs carrier around card readers in their pockets so they can make sure you pay while you're sobbing over your sick pet. The second time they gave her a subpar antibiotic shot, and the third time I came in they in so many words told me I should put her down because she probably has cancer. Thank God I love my cat like a family member, because had I been less caring or the vet more convincing my cat would be dead right now. I insisted we keep treating her and that they give me more antibiotics, anti nausea meds and an anti-inflammatory to clear up her stuffy nose, and low and behold after a week of refusing food she ate for the first time. 6 months later, my cat is still alive and well only because I fought and happened to have the means to pay them 2K. Don't take your elderly pets here if you love them.

Okay, this specific vca was a nice experience. We took my pit bill mix to get an open wound close. Since we entered the building the whole staff was very kind. We arrived on a Friday around 8:30am in front of us there were about three people already. We wait it about 25 minutes and Tobi (my dog) was called. The doctor was very nice, she explained everything. What I truly liked was how honest she was. Having a pet is not cheap so finding a doctor who is honest and not there just to get your money it's very special to find. I have been to many vca's in California and in Texas and so far this one has been the best. I am giving it 4 stars because just for the visit was $145

I brought my cat here for her appointment (she’s bloated and I just want to make sure it isn’t serious) and the vets were running behind which is totally understandable. We waited 40 minutes before being taken into an exam room which put the start of our appointment at about 25 minutes before closing. The vet tech took her temp and let me know she had a fever. She came back in with the doctor for the exam and my cat was nervous and hissed at her. (She’s feisty but not aggressive at all.) That prompted the doctor to ask to send us home with a sedative and come back tomorrow or the next day. (This was 10 minutes before closing) I work both days and am actually worried about her bloating so I asked if she could please just feel her stomach and tell me if it feels wrong to her, she said no. They could see her next week but she would not be doing an exam. She did not care about my cat at all. My cat was stressed, but most definitely not enough to need sedation. The vet wanted to go home. This appointment was a complete waste of my time and stress on my cat. Also, cats must have a rabies vaccine to be seen by a vet. This is totally fine, however it should be disclosed when making an appointment, not in the exam room when people have no choice unless they’d like to forfeit their appointment.I do not recommend this place at all.Edit: my cat was not a threat to patients or staff. She only hissed. If a vet is afraid of a cat hissing, maybe find a new job?

Scheduled an appointment about a week ago for today. They called me an hour before my appointment to cancel saying they didn’t have the time for my appointment or the staff. Really bummed because I had been needing to be seen badly so this was difficult to deal with especially an hour before I was scheduled to be seen. Now I have to find somewhere else to go that can get me in and make my poor cat wait even longer. I do not recommended them.

I had to bring in my dog on Sunday as an emergency. The front desk staff was so nice and efficient getting us checked in and taking my dog back so quickly even though I could see they were busy. The vet was also so kind in coming out to explain the surgery my dog needed and giving us options to make it more affordable if needed. They have even called the next day to check in on my dog. So happy that they were open and able to help us.

Whitney & Dr. Amy were so friendly and informative. They helped me feel comfortable while my cat was being taken care of. Everyone in the front as well was super nice and friendly. You can tell that everyone there has a true love for the animal babies and I will continue to keep my pets staying there.

They were amazing with both our cat and dog. Our dog was dying and they let us stay as long as we needed to with our dog. They were very reasonably priced and all of the staff was very compassionate and caring. The will never take my pets anywhere else and I drive there from salem.

Its so sad i called because my dog of 17 years had a back problem and finally needed to be put down. She explained to me the whole process and the costs. Then told me that they were not taking any new clients ?. I told he that i am giving my dog oxycoton and he is still in pain. Sorry she still said no. I will never have a dog again because of this kind of care for animals vets are in it for the money

Had an appointment for my pup, and found out she might need emergency surgery for pyometra, I brought her to the ER and was quoted 2,500 which just wasn't doable. I was in tears thinking I would have to put my baby down. I called Vitality, and explained the situation, and Dana was amazing, she handled all the leg work and made some calls to get my baby booked the next morning at a different location off Lancaster. They were able to do her emergency surgery for 631. Truly I can't thank them enough for handling that situation for me, because I was not capable of handling it with a clear head. Thank you guys, you saved my baby.

We visited VCA for the first time today and I wish I could give them more then 5 stars! They were amazing with my pup, making him comfortable and loving on him and making it a great experience for all of us. They answered all my questions. Each staff member we interacted with was super friendly and very loving to the animals that came through the doors. We will definitely be returning and I highly recommend them.
