I wish they didn't close Saturday's. They deliver fine, but good luck shipping anything if you work.

I live here in Salem and checked the mail yesterday. I have a small mailbox and found a package that seemed to be delivered by USPS and the package was a big used book. The Book was put into the mail box. I had such a hard time getting the Book out. What on earth??? A big book should of been delivered to the front door instead. Surely, the mail person had to of had a hard time shoving it in since I had a hard time getting it out of the mail box... I was not happy.

I've had consistent terrible service from people at this post office location. As soon as you walk up to the counter, they seem annoyed and just act like you're an idiot (and sometimes maybe we are). I've worked in customer service and with people for years and I always go into places treating employees with respect and I make it a point not to take out my frustration on them but, omg, I just can't with this place. There have been a few people who were really great and very respectful, but for the most part, I've been met with terrible help at this location.

This particular Post Office has lost a lot of my mail over the past 5 years. Including a $500 check... I receive an image of the letter \ mail piece though USPS Informed Delivery, yet I go to my mailbox and there's nothing there. I've opened several tickets with USPS and each time, they shrug; "that mail piece is lost..."

Horrible service. Mail constantly delivered to the wrong address. Too bad they’re all union workers because this location needs a complete overhaul.

This location is top tier. The parking is easy to get in and out of, the inside is spacious. Though, the best part is the staff. Very helpful people who don’t make you feel dumb if you are clueless about something and are thorough with instruction. I also witnessed an employee kindly assisting an elderly person who accidentally locked her keys in her car. Most people would say tough luck these days.

Mail company’s have the easiest job in the world. Take a piece of mail and simply put it in the box or leave at front door. But yet they make it so hard and piss many many people off By not delivering it and making people take time off work to go get their mail. (Doing your job that you failed to do) also their hours suck. Anyone with a real job gets off later than their open. So again, gotta take time off work to pick up or send something out.

I brought in a small box expecting to get help with a label and I had a real bad experience. I expected that as usual I would either get a label or at least write the address on the box. Instead I was told that I needed to buy an envelope to ship the box. I knew that this was not correct however I just was tired and went along with it. After being charged for the envelope and the shipping I became angry because I knew that this was not normal. I complained and was told very angrily by two other staff members that I wrote on the envelope and that I needed to pay for it. I told them the situation and they continued to raise their voices at me and tell me I needed to pay for it. Finally Phong the person that I originally dealt with offered to pay for it. Even though it was his mistake he was humble enough to solve the problem. The other two employees were extremely rude but I have to admit that Phong impressed me quite a bit for his kindness. I asked if I could borrow tape to close the box and the other employee, the tall big guy chuckled in the background., I wouldn't have expected anything less. Seriously????? For him and his other coworker I would give a zero for customer service. Horrible experience but again Phong was nice.

The old lady (that looks Asian) with grey hair is VERY rude and unprofessional. She needs to be fired and needs a job where she doesn't deal with people and just stocks shelves. She NEVER smiles and NEVER uses manners. AVOID her at the counter and ask to speak to another person—TRUST me. ??

I have never in my life been treated as horribly as I did from a worker at this post office. A vacant card was left in my mailbox by mistake and the post office carrier was withholding my mail. When I asked him about this while he was filling my mailbox instead of being nice and courteous he acted awful and condescending towards me. He accused me of not living at my current address and being a crazy resident that moved out and was trying to hack into the mailbox, and he accused me of "ripping up" my name card in my mailbox. That's the last thing I would've done since I literally just needed to access my mail to pay my bills. He made me feel threatened and treated me like I was a criminal. He then tried to complain about me to MY apartment complex when they 100 percent had my back and was like "well that's her property". He accused me of not living at my address and I even politely asked him to not give me attitude and he scoffed and rolled his eyes. Not very professional in my opinion. Not sure what his name is but If you see a very tall man with a long beard delivering your mail in west Salem I'd stay far away from him since it's clear that he hates women. The only reason I gave this place one star is because there was one nice lady who offered to rewrite me a name card and even was able to show me that there was two name cards in my mailbox. ( she even said he had an ego and that he was probably afraid to admit he was wrong.) I so appreciated her. As for the post office themselves, I even contacted them twice to try and get my mail re delivered and then they finally did it but it literally should've gotten resolved way prior to this. So because of one man's ingnorance I was late on paying my bills because this took so long to clear up. I'm highly disappointed in this post office employee and will continue to let the post office know how much I was mistreated.

Went to West Salem post office after being treated rudely at Commercial St post office by older lady. Was able to mail cremated remains and had no problems and staff was extremely helpful, thank you!!

We have lived in West Salem for 28 years and have never had a reason to complain about the postal service. They smile, are kind and helpful and patient with the customers. I am sure dealing with mail can be hectic and I appreciate all they do to make things run smoothly.Several years ago at Christmas time the line was long and people were a little impatient, but another male customer, who had a happy disposition and a big smile started singing Christmas songs. Attitudes changed because of him. Such a simple thing to do and one of my favorite memories.

THIS BRANCH IS IN NEED OF FEDERAL REVIEW! 12/9/22 If a place is so bad nobody has anything good to say about it something needs to be done to change this.

Supervisor is unprofessional and uses disrespectful communication, degrades people when she is stressed. Supervisor lost patience when asked for her bosses information and directed me to file a complaint with the 1-800 number instead of finding a solution. Complaint filed with the higher ups and investigation is underway. Ask and yee shall receive, guaranteed.
