They are amazing. Friendly, considerate, and definitely great care of the animals in their charge.

Be careful of Dr. Halifin if you expect your care to be private. She testified in court against me for requesting to put an abandoned cat down after I surrendered the cat to dr. Halifin to rehome. She spoke out and out lies in court and was cross examined and dismissed. I was acquitted because no crime was committed but that didn't stop her from slandering me in court. Shame on you dr. Halifin.

Been coming here since 1984. I don't trust others as much as Dc Scott and Dc H with my small and large animals. Always very honest and never nickel and dime you. Great country, family vet that you will feel at home.

My family has used this vet since 1978. 11 pets birth to death. We have a 8 month old puppy that had a medical emergency over the weekend when the clinic was closed and had to be seen at WillVet and admitted for 24 hours. Upon release from the hospital, WillVet sent an order for a full panel lab to be done with the primary care vet within 24-48 hours. I contacted Salem Park Veterinary and they said they were booked but to bring her down and they would work her in for a lab draw. When I arrived they took my pet back and told me they would call for me to pick her up when they had a chance to draw lab and had read the results. 1.5 hrs later they called with the results and said that they would like to draw again in 48 hours to see if they were different. I then get the the bill. They have charged me for an exam, which wasn’t ordered, a “hospital stay” ? And an emergency visit . The hospital order was for a lab only. My puppy was just in there for a spay and chip less than a month ago. I questioned this. The receptionist said that she would have the Dr. call.My frustration was that this puppy is a patient of this vet. This vet is only open 8-5 weekdays. If you have an emergency you MUST take them to urgent care. Which we did. The hospital sent an order for follow up lab with primary care. Which is why I questioned why I had to pay for an ER visit to primary care as well as an exam and also a “hospital stay”.When the vet called me & I proceeded to tell her that I appreciated her taking time because I knew she was busy, but that I didn’t agree with the extra fees. I also told her that I never received an after care summary to explain everything she did as well as a pre treatment estimate for the costs she added for hospital care and what she considered an ER visit. I explained that the order came from a hospital. I didn’t understand why I was charged for an exam when the order was for a lab draw. She then got defensive and told me that she only had 10 min for lunch today and that she doesn’t accept other exams outside her office. ? You’re not open 24 hours and YOU are going to question the local pet hospital when you don’t provide this service? They sent her all records from the weekend which was extremely thorough! This set me off on defensive and I basically told her “you’re a doctor! Your job is to save lives right? Plenty of doctors miss meals on behalf of patients.” That’s not my exact words but basically what I said, probably a little rudely since I was flabbergasted by her response and extremely ticked.I explained that I was never told that I would have to pay extra (no pre-treatment estimated). Her front desk only had me sign a form that auth them to sedate my puppy if she was too wiggly for a blood draw. She started sarcastically laughing which led me to be more defensive. I told her that she was being exceptionally rude and unprofessional and that her front desk personnel were rude except two of the young ladies that were ALWAYS professional and helpful. She didn’t appreciate the criticism. So she basically told me that I was lucky she even saw my puppy because she was totally booked that day. I then reminded her that she is a DOCTOR. My pet is HER patient, It’s her job as a doctor to care for her not only when she is healthy! A lot of other things were said but definitely not heard as she continued to talk over the top of me.It all ended with me transferring all of our pets to another vet. Please don’t consider this clinic if you want thorough treatment for your pets without paying double since they do not offer care plans, take insurance, aren’t available 24 hours and if you cannot schedule them into HER schedule to allow her a decent lunch time during 8-5 M-FThe vet she replaced was Dr. Scott who was awesome and beloved to our family. He passed it on to her around 2010 and has since passed away. He NEVER made us feel like we were an inconvenience and cutting into his personal time.. We will miss him forever. Take your pet elsewhere. This vet STILL complains to my 83 yr Dad about him not using her.

Kind and respectful vet. Feels like a family run business. Easily our favorite vet. She's got us through some rough times with our furry friends and we are forever grateful.

Find someplace else to bring your cat! My fiance brought our new 4 month old kitten to get its free checkup. It got a clean bill of health... turns out we were better off leaving it at home! Shortly after the visit, this indoor-only kitten started sneezing. Then that sneezing spread to the other two indoor only cats we have. Now we have three cats suffering from Calcivirus. The representative at the clinic said, "Sometimes it happens" that cats catch something at the veterinarian. Never in my twenty years of owning cats have I had a pet come back from a veterinarian with a contagious disease. Never have I had a single cat contract calcivirus. My senior cat's regular vet clinic mentioned it happens easily when a facility is not diligent in cleaning after other patients. I suppose I should have known he'd come down with something when my fiance reported excess fur on the floor in the examining room. The clinic took no responsibility and offered no help. I am taking my senior cat and the two kittens elsewhere for treatment; you can't pay me to come back to this facility, my cats' health is worth so much more.
