It is so unfortunate that Salem has become such a retail wasteland. I do buy clothes online but miss the experience of visiting a well merchandised boutique. Up until the last couple visits Olivia's has been the one place in Salem I could depend on. No complaints about clothing selection or merchandising instead it was the awful treatment I received when making a return. I had two tops (same style) different colors. Brought them home but an honest friend told me they were unflattering from behind. So I went back to return. The clerk at the counter stopped me before the second one was even unfolded and exclaimed they would not accept the return because the tag was missing... it was not missing. She just didn't open the garment. Then she tried to apologize exclaiming that they have to be careful because "some people are dishonest". Which made absolutely no sense. Then she asked if I had taken time to try the tops on when I purchased them? Is that really her business? Finally, as if her previous comments had not been enough, she told me I could not get a refund only a store credit because I used a debit card? Displayed store return policy is 14 days. I was returning less than a week after purchasing. No mention of restrictions for debit card purchases. Which again made no sense. Ultimately I asked her to call someone to figure this out. I was ultimately refunded but that would not have happened if I didn't stand my ground. What an awful experience from start to finish.

Olivia's is a total treat, be sure to check them out! The shop has a lot to offer and the owners/staff really care when you're there and want to make your time special. I've bought clothes, perfume, even children's book and toys. A great selection! Thanks for being a wonderful part of Downtown!

After a serious deep dive into the inventory of this very nice boutique my lovely Gf bought a couple new outfits and I snuck her a nice pair of hoops. Liz aka Sweetie was attentive and a perfect hostess for the shopping party that was thrown.

Seems like a really nice place! They always have very lovely clothes there. My only complaint is that I wish they carried just a little more for bigger women, but it's certainly not bad! They've always been very kind when I've gone- and I'm fairly used to people judging me when I enter a store: I'm fairly large for a woman and rather tomboyish, so walking into a nice store with pretty clothes often gets me a lot of weird stares. Not here though! They were always very sweet to me, and I am always happy to visit the store. Can't wait to have a little extra income to get something nice!I would advise ignoring the previous negative reviews. Thieves come in all shapes and sizes, and if you're acting like a thief and get defensive when people act cautious about you, then you're not making your case look any better. Homeless people are not always thieves, and thieves are not always homeless. How cruel to say such things...

I was incredibly disappointed with my experience at Olivia’s in Salem. I brought my daughter to Salem with a friend to celebrate a birthday and do some shopping. We had some glasses we received as a gift at a location before we entered Olivia’s. I felt uncomfortable carrying the glasses entering into the location and quietly asked my daughter for her glass so I could place my glass and hers into my purse. The store was empty and super quiet so I whispered. After that, the staff starting following us around and treated us like we were thieves. I was so disgusted and appalled. I was trying to be respectful and was being treated like a criminal. We had intended to purchased some high priced items, but after being followed like a thief decided to purchase our items there and will go to Nordstrom’s in Portland where we are treated with respect. The staff was so condescending and rude. I understand there is an issue with theft regarding the homeless issue in Salem. I however do not fall into this category and if they looked twice could tell by the way I was dressed. Look at your surveillance video and you can see I was trying to be respectful and put away my personal belongings. I WILL NEVER shop at this location and WILL NEVER endorse your store in any regards other than judgmental, rude and unwelcoming. I would rather spend my money at Anthropologie, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and many other local boutiques in Portland who do not treat high paying customers like trash.

I have been shopping at Olivia's for the past 3 to 4 years and the staff and owner are absolutely amazing and continuously helpful whenever I am in need of anything. Amazing customer service just the way it should be

Really like this place. They have women's clothes and things for a newborn to 2 years that is just lovely. The sweet lady with the English accent is very helpful and knowledgeable about the clothing trends.
