There are several bad reviews pertaining to the owner but he was very welcoming and nice to me. I asked questions about many items and he seemed happy to talk to me about them. It is one of the best antique shops I've seen with beautiful and rare things everywhere. And the prices are very fair. Definitely go in.

Earle Antiques is one of favorite spots to go in Salem... The owner, Tom and his sweet and friendly assistant, Susan are 2 good people! Knowledgeable from many years in the business...

The only reason there is a second star in my rating,is because of the lady that works there being polite, pleasant, and most assuredly patient to stay in the employ of such an abrasive personality.the store,it's wares, and and overall charm appeal in all key adpects, too bad the owners personality is as antique as his merchandise, in regards to social etiquette, and today's standards of customer service.

Tom Earl is a nasty person! I have never met a person with less mouth control. This building should have a more deserving shop in it. I am sad that this man does well in a town that he has so much nasty things to say about.

Wonderful building, location, selection. If you have any interest in history, antiques, or collectibles, Earle Antiques is a great place to visit.

I am glad to see that others have been treated so terrible as I have been! I was going to use my credit card to purchase $200.00 of Satsuma buttons, but oh no!! 'We don't accept credit cards, only cash." Really?? I have shopped in their store off and on for 20 years - and used my credit card. They treated me like scum or someone that somehow was going to use a stolen card. They both were aggressive so I figured it was not worth an argument. I told them to hold the items, then moseyed to my credit union, pulled out cash, moseyed back and paid for them. Several months later my husband and I were back in (yes, no skin off my nose when someone is mentally unsound, it is no reflection on me and does not have to ruin my day). There was a cameo there for around $200.00. She offered it to me for $175.00 but I did not respond because well, all I had was a credit card and I was not in the mood that day to be insulted. So, no sale! Look, bait, but don't buy!! And don't sell anything to them!! They like 200% profits literally! Years ago I saw one elderly gentlemen come into the store. He had just sold several of his oil paintings to Earles antiques. When he realize that his oil paintings he sold to Mr. "E" were worth a great deal more than he got, he exploded in anger and "E" threw the old man out of his store. Seniors should not be taken advantage of. It is sad to see Salem's community represented in such a pathetic and horrible manner. I don't go there anymore.

So much in here, make sure that you got time to browse. I found a cute little piece to take home and I can't wait to come back. :-)

This dude is a complete joke of a "business man" and I really have no idea how he manages to survive as he has zero interest in customer service. Don't even waste your time opening the door.

Love this place. Such cool artifacts, and nice people. I'm not familiar with the gentleman discussed in previous posts, but I met the lady who works there. She was super friendly, and even took time to show me an old, handmade salesman's shoe model from the 1800's...after I told her made shoes as a hobby. She took time to show me a couple of really old Kodak cameras that I collect, and let my girlfriend try on two rings. She was very pleasant, even when we purchased nothing. The difference between this antique store and many of the others is that this place is super high-end. Their prices may seem high, but the items being offered for consideration are generally rare, well taken care of, and likely priced appropriately. I would recommend visiting this place for a serious collector.

The sweet old lady that works in this store is my favorite. She always greets me warmly, like an old friend. I've seen the owner that most of the reviews mention being an awful person. I've not talked to him. I've also used an app on my phone to look up the silver content of several coins. Nobody suggested that I couldn't do that in the store.

My favorite antique store. Knowledgeable and friendly experts, a great selection, and reasonable prices. I find something I can't live without, each time I visit this store!

What a beautiful and unique location for this antique store! Such a selection of high quality antiques and jewelry . This is definitely not a junky low end antique dealer. The owner obviously knows his stuff and for that reason and the quality of his product don't expect him to haggle with you. I mean, you're not shopping at a garage sale after all.
