They do not honor their contracts, and are never open during their scheduled hours. I booked a rental online for a pick up at 12pm for two days and the return time would be 12pm. I didn't have a car "obviously" so my 11yr old daughter and I walked 5 miles across Salem to find out they closed at 12pm and would not open until 7pm.Customer service hotline was very helpful and did compensate me for my troubles with a discount on the rental as well as reschedule my pick up time for 7pm and drop off time of 7pm two days later. When I did pick up the car the girl at the counter was rude and told me even though they were closed that she was there until almost 1pm and that's just how they do it and I should have paid attention to their scheduled hours Upon returning my car at 6pm on the second day they were again closed. I dropped the keys in the box and carried on with my life. I wake to an email saying that I was being charged for the extra 15hrs because I didn't return the car before they closed at 5pm. I was charged for the gap of time which was 5pm-8am, which was the entire time they were closed. The guy I spoke with at that rental location and was also unprofessional and told that in no way did my contract say to return by 7am because they would are closed at that time. Remember I did pick the vehicle up at 7pmI again had to call customer service which was again helpful and took the steps to remove and reimburse me the over charge.5 stars for customer service hotline operators, negative 5 stars for the location of the rental.

My relative ordered a large truck and trailer to move across country. They were stuck for hours on the side of the road because the tires blew! They were bald and were NOT checked by this facility! Unacceptable

My relative rented a large truck and trailer to move across country. They ended up being stuck on the side of the road waiting for assistance as two tires were bald and worn out. This facility never checked all the tires for safety! Unacceptable for the amount of money they charged! Go somewhere else!

Emailed me 2 days before my move cancelling the reservation, no explanation. Called (the office number redirects to some corporate call center) and was transferred multiple times before being informed there's not a single truck anywhere in OR, despite the fact they took my reservation over a week ago and had sent me confirmation and reminder emails as recently as yesterday.

Frustrating experience. Couldn't make a reservation, hit multiple roadblocks. Their Eugene location doesn't exist, according to corporate, and their number is disconnected. The Salem location couldn't be reached locally, rerouted me to corporate, and (best we could uncover) they don't offer after-office returns.They offer better prices than U-Haul, but that means absolutely nothing if you can't rent from them.

After clarifying 3 times we wanted a 26 ft truck with a liftgate, they reserved us a ramp truck. We had to wait an extra half hour to get into building, as the gal didn't have keys to open the building. There were several other customers who came to pick up vehicles that the store didn't have. Will NEVER use Budget again.

HORRIBLE customer service. There was a huge line and not enough employees to get to everyone. We spent almost an hour in line to find out the truck we had reserved A WEEK AND A HALF BEFORE OUR PICKUP DATE was "out of stock". We were told this AS WE WERE PICKING UP THE TRUCK. They only had a small van left which would turn our original milage of 120 miles round trip to ALMOST DOUBLE. I would not ever rent a truck here again.

Do not rent from budget if you value your life. They put us in a truck with a hole near the radiator, massive windshield washer leak, brakes all the way to the floorboard and often times couldn't stop (going through the mountains and then intoMajor traffic this was extremely dangerous) and a flat tire less than an hour from the location. Therefore we were stranded for 5 hours waiting for roadside service to change the type with no communication/updates from budget. When we called them, they were so extremely rude.This wasn't even the start of it all. We were told the location opened at 8, we arrived at that time to wait in the car for over an hour because the worker didn't show up until 9:17. The worker was eating 2 burritos while taking to us and had her boyfriend sitting in the back room. While processing our reserved truck, the worker tells us they don't have any 12' trucks (we reserved this truck over 3 weeks ago) She offers me a van, I go check it out to see if it will work, the back door won't lock. Nope, that won't work as I want my belongings secured. I finally get a 16' truck, which is way to big and one I have to spend much more money on gas. The inside of the truck was so dirty, it was nasty.Called customer service and asked them for a refund on this unsafe truck as the experience was terrible and the drive was so scary. The scariest ride I've ever been on. The manager refunded $100.00. That didn't even cover the cost of the time we were stranded and the hotel room cost I lost out on because we couldn't get to our destination in time due to the delay from the flat tire.All the way around, this was a bad experience.

this last experience was such a disaster. Their website says they close at 5:30pm, they actually close at 1:00 pm. I arrived a few minutes after 1:00, so the one positive thing I can say is that at least they stuck around long enough for me to get my reservation. However, the truck we reserved was absolutely FILTHY. No one cleaned it out after the previous rental. Food and used utensils on the floor of the truck, dead bugs all over the window and hood of the truck. It smelled terrible. I came back to let them know it was horrible, was offered a clean up, but with our schedule I didn't have time to wait around for them to do that. She offered me a discount at the time of checking the truck back in, which definitely did not happen. It took 3 weeks to get my final receipt. All of this discount discussion was done while she was eating her chicken nuggets on her motor bike outside the office. Classy and professional. This office is always so dark and gross and the people renting the trucks do not have a professional appearance. Not great to see a boyfriend hanging around in the back office either. I just rented a truck through Penske this last week for the same distance as when I rented from Budget and it was $100 cheaper for a clean, modern truck with a professional staff. Bye Budget.

Budget Rental in Salem is a JOKE! We had a rental scheduled to pick up on June 11th. Once we got here to pick up the office was closed and NOBODY told us they were closing early, secondly THEY DID NOT HAVE THE 12 passenger van we reserved! There were a lot of angry customers outside waiting to pick up and drop off and THE OFFICE WAS CLOSED. A woman answered the door finally but was absolutely NO HELP! she said the distribution center didn't deliver any vans BUT YET THEY CHARGED OUR ACCOUNT FOR THE INSURANCE!!!! AVOID THE STRESS AND DO NOT USE BUDGET RENT A CAR IIN SALEM , OREGON OR ANY OTHER BUDGET!!!!!!! They SUCK BALLS AND GOATS A** 1000000%
