Online baking call center was horrible, the representative hang up after telling I need to reach out AGAIN for the 3rd time this week to talk to their security account team before they can approve my new account. Keep in mind they never e-mail me back, called me back or even try to reach out to warm about this freeze on my accounts. I will be talking my business somewhere else.

What horrible customer service, I went to open a savings and checking account. The woman was very rude and condescending. She told that I had to wait 15 minutes while she takes a break. What happened to customer service? I was going to put a huge amount of money in the account. But I will go somewhere else, I will not be treated this way as a customer.

if you like paying a lot of fees this is the bank for you. I travel to Canada a lot. Umpqua charges you every time you use your debit or credit card in Canada. they charge you to buy Canadian money and they charge you 15.00 to put unused money back into your account. I am closing my account and taking my business to BECU where they don't charge you ridiculous fees. so if you like wasting your money this is the bank for you

I'd honestly give this place zero stars. I had been with this bank for 2 years as a business and 3 years as a personal account. I got caught in a loan scam and they decided after 2 weeks that I was no longer welcome as a customer in any regard. I was not informed of this for 3 weeks. I had to physically walk into the branch and was finally told because I was scammed somehow I put the entire bank at risk and that no account with my name associated with it will ever be accepted again. If you bank here be very cautious about any and all your information or you'll lose your banking status. And this was all decided without so much as a phone call or email to me telling me what they did. Oh yes I forgot I had to tell my situation to every bank teller and person I talked to on the phone 7 times before any note was written in their system as to the reason my account was frozen.

They're NOT the great bank they're trying to tell us they are. Deposited money onto savings but the guy was kinda busy so he didn't listen (or wasn't paying attention) and put it into the checking. That would have caused my largest automatic payment to be late and would have potentially caused problems for months or years. For some time now, my branch never has enough employees and I always have to wait. I've tried using their online banking and I found transactions are routinely delayed 5 to 7 days. When I asked about a ReFi loan, they pushed me off to someone on the phone in another state. He was really trying to close me on a higher rate than I was expecting, end when he couldn't close the deal, they sold my name, address, and phone number. I've now been inundated with so many junk phone calls (specifically about mortgages) that I had to change my unlisted number. These are not the nice local people they once were.

What a horrible experience! We got funded for a new house (yea) but they screwed up our final closing papers and didn't even know until I pointed it out. Then they screwed up again when they sent the paperwork to the title company. When we asked why the closing costs were different, our loan officer told us the title company would explain it. We were told that if we open an account with them, we could save $500.00 on the closing costs...so we did. They lost my husband's debit card twice, told us we were guarenteed a credit card (we were denied), and when we complained, the bank manager never called back. Remember that $500.00 savings? They turned it into the IRS as interest income so now we need to pay taxes on money we never had! We were never told about that...we would have never agreed. Run away from banks, run especially fast away from Umqua Bank!

Third time ive called in the last 7 days. I refuse to wait any longer than 1 hour on hold. The people that awnser are terrible! I was asked where i lived for verifacation however that was the reason i was calling so that i coud change my address and get my account number but was hung up on telling them the wrong address because they hadnt got any other personal identiaction information which they were suppose to do, according to the lady who hung up on me. Freaking terrible place! I would never get a morgate with this crappy company agian. Right now im at 10 mins for a wait time. We will see how long i stay on. :)

Horrible place to work. The loans department violates so many mortgage laws its crazy. Management doesn't care about anyone but themselves. When they took over Sterling Bank everything changed for the worse. I would work at McDonald's before ever going back to Umpqua Bank.

Terrible company to work for. Everyone I knew that worked for Umpqua Bank has either been terminated based off of lies or quit. This company uses and discriminates against people. DO NOT WORK OR BANK HERE.

DO NOT WORK HERE. It's terrible. Bad work environment and Management will employ and promote their friends before a hard working employee who has worked for over 1 year (not referring to myself). They terminate most of their employee's for silly reasons. Prepare to be disappointed. There is a reason people hate Umpqua Bank.

I recently purchased a home and my realtor recommended Kathleen M. at Umpqua Bank in Roseburg. The process was very seamless with Kathleen at the helm. This is in stark contrast to my previous experience when I went through an online company (Intelliloan.com) which was a complete nightmare to deal with. I would recommend Kathleen at Umpqua Bank every day of the week, and twice on Sunday's. We had such a great experience with them, and again, it was PAINLESS and quick.

Umpqua is the bank for you if you do ALL your banking -- deposits, withdrawals, money orders and cashier's checks for bill paying -- in person at the branch office. All the "stores" I have been to have been pleasant, friendly, comfortable. But if you're looking for online and mobile services, then you'll find Umpqua is like a bank run by the Three Stooges. The website is clunky and down about four times a month. Your mobile deposits will disappear and then reappear a few days later. Your online bill payments will eventually get where they were going, but whether it will be on the date you specified is a crapshoot. I don't regret dumping BofA, which is a soulless bloodsucking parasite feeding on the republic -- but at least BofA works.

I opened a basic checking account with Matthew Gerharter, and I have to say, this was the best experience at a bank I have ever had. I felt a genuine customer appreciation, and welcoming environment. Not a pack of ravenous hyenas clamoring for the meatiest part of the bone. Matthew is precisely the reason I prefer to utilize local banking, he explained everything relevant in clear and professional terms, with no condescension. We all walk into a business greeted by fake smiles and insincere authenticity forced on employees. I did not feel this, I felt a staff of genuine people who enjoy their job. This is exactly what I look for in a bank, people in whom I can trust, and small enough to maintain integrity. I will recommend Umpqua Bank to everyone.
