Neighbors and friends BUYERS BEWARE in my opinion. If I can give this place 0 stars I would. The owner messed up having his son work there part time. Give me a second to step on my soap box...ehh ehh ehm.... You walk in and he ALWAYS has his ear buds in and is talking to someone, oblivious. Then you ask for assistance, it's like pulling teeth and you constantly have to repeat yourself. Let's get into my two most recent interactions (because there are a few more, I just don't want to live too far in the past) Went in after driving hours to visit my family to get a cold refreshment and lottery tickets. He rings me up and the total says "13.47" this guy says $31.47, I'm immediately questioning the total and what shows on the register. Then he starts to break down my items adding an extra dollar to each item. I ask so how does that equal $31.47? He redacts his statement and says $21.47. I pay $22 and tell him to keep the change, because people waiting behind me and coming in. Fast forward to tonight, hoping sweet Brenda is working or ANYONE else, but no luck...it's the owners son. I buy myself a beverage and ask if they have any inventory of an empty item on the shelf. He rolls his eyes restocks the item, and doesn't grab the newly stocked item I asked for. I am sure if the owner saw how he treats the customers, who keep in mind are keeping his store open, this would not fly. I have never felt so disrespected as I do when this guy works. Watch those totals folks and question the register. If the total is less than what he says TELL HIM TO RING IT UP. Hold this guy accountable.

I remember this store from when I was a kid and would stay the night at friend's houses in the Hucrest sub-division. Every stay at a friends house would equal riding bikes down to this store to get candy or chips, or soda, or baseball (football/basketball) card or comics .... or something that would enhance the stay over. This place has been a staple in Hucrest for as long as I can remember. They have always been consistent with what they have to offer. The store itself is a little dated, but the employees have always been helpful and courteous. Easy place to stop off to grab something and may be able to prevent you from having to go to a grocery store - especially if you just need an item or two and it's a pretty common thing. All in all, not a bad little stopping off spot. If you've never been give them a shot.

This is a nice neighborhood store, however, I am annoyed they say they are open until 10 PM and I show up at 9:30 to find them closed. This happens a lot. In addition, I don't feel the employees are treated well. The ones I have interacted with were fantastic, yet, I understand the owner/manager doesn't appreciate their excellant customer service..and dosent provide the wage and raises they deserve.

I really like going into this market/deli just for the customer service. There is one girl in there that is really sweet. I don't know her name, but she always makes sure I leave with a smile. Their food is awesome too. They have pizza and sandwiches and a full market. Totally worth going to.
