I was referred to 5 Star Auto Service by Lee's Fleet Service many years ago after the owner {Lee} passed away. His wife {Lindy} worked at the local USDA office. She helped me buy a fixer-upper home with $100 down and a USDA Loan, grants and classes. She passed away also, sadly. Roseburg no longer has a USDA office for the families of Douglas County. 5 Star is AWESOME! When you go into the office you are treated really good. You always know you are welcome and one of the 5 Star family. I have been with 5 Star at least since 2007. The man at the front who helps you always makes you feel welcome. He is very knowledgeable about cars and is really good at scheduling appointments. He makes sure I have an oil change once a year. The lady in another office makes you feel like you are at home, too. There are always good magazines to read. Sometimes I bring a snack to eat if I am going to be there a while. There is even a "Ladies" restroom. You get to have a free welcome pen with the business name on it, also. All around the ceilings are license plates from many states. There is a water dispenser in the lobby in case you get thirsty. I took a gardening book to read today and learned how to make healthy living soil for next year's garden. I hardly ever have time to read at home, I am so busy. I rarely see the owner - he is active in the community, and with the Speedway and Graffiti Nights. They love to get cars ready for their owners. The location is very convenient. If you have any problems that are not emergencies, and you need to save for the repair, they let you know right away so you can save for the repair. The mechanic is very excellent! He has been at 5 Star a long time - at least as long as I have been there. He is very competent, highly trained and experienced. He has many, many certificates on the walls of the lobby {see pictures}. I have never seen anything like it before. He knows how to do everything. If it is fixable, he can fix it! {I asked permission to take the pictures of the license plates walls and was told I could.} Also, 5 Star Auto Service has a friendly, downhome atmosphere. I went in and was told that my vehicle could not be aligned because I needed adjustable control arm bolts. They showed me what to do, told me where to get the part reasonably priced in town and made another appointment for me the following week.
When I returned, they aligned my vehicle and even helped me troubleshoot some other problems. Five stars!

Took my sons truck into five star automotive because it wouldn’t come out of limp mode they had it all fixed up and out of there within a couple of days running great!!!!

we have a Prius that was taken to Clint Newel (twice) and the problem was not solved. 5 Star solved the problem within an hour. They are honest. Their shop is clean and they don't overcharge. We saw them pull into a bay a newer Mercedes so if they can work on a Mercedes and a hybrid your car is in excellent hands. Our repair was more than half the cost that Clint Newell charged and they didn't have to keep it all day to make it happen. Excellent auto repair shop.

They were late in opening for my appointment. I couldn't wait any longer because I was going to be late for work. They were not apologetic, they had ZERO customer service. Do NOT go here, they do not care about their customers.

I was on vacation from out of town and my rental car had an issue. I was referred to Gimry at 5 Star Auto. I was so impressed with the speed of Gimry identifying the problem and making the necessary repair. I appreciated the quick service, kindness & honesty shown to me by Gimry. These guys are the best! They have a tight schedule, I had a crisis and they got me in! I was going to be leaving in a week on a trip, when my truck developed a fluid leak. You know when you begin a long road trip and only bought the car pre-owned 5 months ago, you are bound to have some misgivings about performance. Well, we were heading to Seattle from San Diego and the check engine light came on. I was on google trying to figure out if there were small things that wouldn't threaten the life if our car so we could continue. We were petrified to stop at an auto repair we did not know and here we are in Roseburg, Or. Our car is a 2012 Porsche turbo so not everyone is familiar with them. We got off at Roseburh Oregon and found a highly recommended Shop on yelp called 5 star. We pulled in and they could not have been more service oriented. They looked and drove the car right away and long story short, told us to go on our way. The car was fine. They cleared the computer. Off we go! About 5 miles later and the car gets a funny feeling as we are driving. Back to roseburg, but we decided to get 2nd opinion from Nicks repair . Nick wanted to keep us overnight to get the parts from Portland and had three things wrong with the car. WhT a bill that would have been. I just didn't like nicks shop so back to 5 star. Richard said okay,for your peace of mind I will test it again and then had another guy drive it. Same wonderful news. Car is great. Go enjoy yourselves. Which we did. So this is the Story of the reputable, responsible great guy we all want to run into. And then there is the story about the guy who wanted to take us to the cleaners. Restores our faith in not only auto repair guys, but just good guys who really rule the world. Richard and 5 star are that guy and we will always think fondly of the good guy we met at 5 star.
