Always helpful. Not like that OG AI "clippy" from old microsoft days, but helpful like your local neighborhood stores hound be, with the experience and enthusiasm you would expect from a local hardware store.

They are the absolute best! Will greet you everytime and ask you what you came in for and help you find it. No searching around for help. They are also helpful problem solving and with tips on what to do. Been coming here for years and will continue for many, many more!

Paint dept. are A*I had my contractors request a lot of paint Thursday afternoon, I got a request in, via the website, to the paint dept. that evening. They got the paint to me by 9am the next day and coordinated with another Ace for the remaining paint they couldn't provide in time. House completed by the end of the weekend, thanks Ace!

If you need nuts/bolts/screws/washers/virtually any kind of small part like that, they have rows and rows of bins full of about anything you can think of. I don't even think about going anywhere else. The staff is super friendly and helpful. 7 stars out of 5 at least. I worry I'm not paying enough cause they always have what I need and I want them to be in business for a very very long time. Really, I want to give them more money. What does that tell you.

Twice now, I've looked online at a big box store's website to find a gardening product I needed. It was clearly part of the inventory at my local store, but when I went to the store, the clerk put in the SKU as listed on the website and got the error message, "Invalid SKU." Very disconcerting. Then I remembered Woodstock Hardware, which has a lovely garden area and a very wide selection of all things hardware. I went to Woodstock, they had what I needed, at a better price, as well, and I didn't have to wait for shipping!

I have given this store three chances as it is in my neighborhood. Every time I have gone in I leave SO pissed off. The staff is very rude. If you ask for help they act angry. No one wants to help you. First time I went in looking for plant fertilizer. Went into the nursery section, there was not one shopper to be seen. I asked the guy standing behind the counter doing nothing if he could help me. He rudely pointed to an isle and said "look there". Sorry if I asked you to actually do your job! Second time I went in I was treated so rudely that I just walked out. SO, decided to try one more time...I needed a specific nail. The guy took my nail and threw it on the floor and pointed to a metal bin "look in there". Once again, sorry for asking you to do your job! I then asked a girl to help me with something else, she acted like I was really bothering her and said she would find someone to help me. Again...sorry you have to do your job. Another guy came to "help" me. His attitude was horrible! I wanted to throttle him - I was so angry - I just left. I went to Wichita Hardware and was treated right and they helped me with everything I needed. If you want abusive treatment by entitled jerks then go to Woodstock Ace. I, for one, will NEVER set foot in there again!!

Love this place. The staff is friendly and super knowledgeable. If they can't answer your question they won't try to fake it (*cough* home derpo) but will find someone who can. Great local hardware store with a nice little garden center. I can usually find what I need here for home improvement, I love not having to go to the big box stores. Bought a grill from them recently, and assembly/delivery was so much cheaper and low stress than the big guys. Thanks!

Never Fails to DisappointI want to love this place so bad. Hardware stores are my happy place. I have lived close by for 10 years now. My first experience at the store was great. The staff was helpful and kind. Every visit since has not been great. Due to this, I have only visited about once per year and walk away vowing never to come back.I like to figure things out on my own. I like a puzzle. If I've made it to the hardware store for help, I'm stumped. My questions are usually odd because I don't know the "correct" way of doing something and have a weird project that I've decided I can do on my own. I probably don't ask the questions in the correct way but I think I get myself across well by hand gestures, pictures and lots of information. The salesman on my last visit didn't really listen to me. After I told him my project and where I needed help, he gave me some ridiculous suggestions. Even I, with my limited knowledge, knew his suggestions were sh**. I got the feeling, as with other visits, that my project wasn't worth their time and that zero effort would be put in by the salesman. What is it Woodstock? Is it because I'm a woman? Is it because I'm an "older" woman? Is it because my projects are small? Why don't you want to help me?I am not a huge fan of Home Depot but they get 100% of my business because Woodstock keeps breaking my heart. That being said, the nursery department has been 10000% helpful with any questions I've had.Booooo Woodstock.
