Research done, I was eager to order my new Specialized e-bikes. I chose to order through West End Bikes because Mike struck me as being helpful and knowledgeable. And, for such an important purchase, I wanted to know would be building and servicing my bikes.
I value merchants who get that the relationship is often more valuable than the item or service offered.

Came in with a bike I got used looking for a tune up / diagnostic. Hans checked it out and made some adjustments for free and took the time to give me a mini course in bike maintenance when it became clear I'm new to this, then only charged me for the one item it needed (new chain). Great experience, will be back for future service!

I sent my Canyon bike here for assembly. Hans did a fantastic job in setting up the bike within 2 days, and provided me with detailed explanation of the parts (especially the electronic parts). 100% recommend sending your canyon bikes here for assembly.

I made an appointment and went in first thing in the morning to have RideWrap (purchased for $180 elsewhere) installed on my bike.
I was told I would be charged the hourly labor rate of $95/hour to install, but I would be called if it would take longer than two hours. The employee appeared to think it would take between one and two hours to complete.
The next morning, I got a call saying the bike was ready for pickup and that it took them 5.5 hours to do the installation. I was never contacted to be told that the job would be taking longer than two hours.
They charge me $250 for the job and act like they're doing me a favor. If I had been contacted - as I was told I would be - or if this price was presented when I dropped off the bike, I might have been fine with it. But charging more than $190 in this situation is unethical at best.
After doing a bit more research, every shop I found that offers installation of RideWrap specifically (instead of just charging an hourly rate) charges $150.
I need other parts and more work to get done on the bike, but now that will have to be taken care of elsewhere.
Unrelated note: the parking situation at/around the shop isn't great.

Matt at West End Bikes was very knowledgeable and helpful. He understood what we wanted and was able to arrange trials of bicycles that fit our criteria. We asked many questions over 3 days!

I'd just like to thank Mark, Mike, Matt, and Hanz for going above and beyond in helping me find the right bicycle upgrade. Every experience that I've had at West End has been informative and welcoming. I really can't sing their praises enough.

Staff was super helpful getting a random part for my almost 10 year old bike. Super friendly, price was super fair and I definitely will becoming back for any of my needs. P.s. to the shop, I hope you were able to get that bolt removed from the rear axel I gave you because lord knows I would never be able to!

They took a return without needing the receipt. Just looked into their system showing I had purchased the item.

Been in twice now for flat fixes. Probably the friendliest bike shop I've ever been in. Great service.

This bike shop has the best service in the country - hands down!I had been searching for a key part for my Pinarello in local Seattle bike shops all over the city to no success for over a year. I reached out to Joe and the team at West End and they treated me like I was a lifetime VIP customer. Joe connected to Pinarello, searched out the part, and had it shipped to me in Seattle in under a week!I’ve traveled extensively for racing and been to bike shops all over the country. This team tops ALL of them! I’ll be making the trip to West End Bikes for all my future bike purchases. Great selection, top end brands, incredibly knowledgeable and caring professionals.Cheers and thank you West End Bikes!

Unkind owner. While this shop is situated in a nice part of the city, and the selection is quite good, I cannot overlook a very serious attitude problem the female partner seems to be afflicted with. She was very aggressive and territorial when I asked if I could come in..... "Did you see the sign?" she shot back with sarcasm, "no" I replied, after all that's why I was asking. She sighed, and said "Why don't we go check it together? .... See? What does it say?" "I laughed assuming this was just her sense of humor, or perhaps she had some social anxiety, then as I was walking towards the door to enter the shop, she called after me again, "it says open." I ignored her because her condescending tone was starting to test my tolerance. As I browsed around the shop, she seemed to follow me, which I thought was odd considering there were other customers whom she could've assisted at that time. I felt like she just lacked awareness so I tried to point out to her that I was just browsing, and she said "you could have browsed from the window right?." And then laughed and said "right?" She just waited there for me to acknowledge her joke, but I was growing tired of her so I left. As I was walking out, I heard her telling one of the other employees about the open sign thing, and some comments about me. I stopped in another time when the older gentleman was working, and he was excellent. Very knowledgeable and straight to the point. I think she should learn from his example.
