I was told by my then boss (he's an immigrant from an African country... he's also an American who is a Black man) that he was asked to leave this Wells Fargo Bank branch or location because of his thick accent. I went to admonish the staff inside. I told the bank manager that even if,... " She isn't very racist... she needs to be nicer to Black people... even if they speak English with an accent." I was told by the bank teller "Did I have an account?" I replied,... "My boss sent me to make deposits at the bank... so,... yes I had an account." She replied,... "That only customers whose name appears on the withdrawal receipt were allowed inside that specific branch." I told her,... "That if she didn't stop sounding very racist... I would take my business elsewhere." I was told by the security guard.... that the bank manager wanted me out. I told the security guard... "I'm not the one that is the troublemaker." The bank manager is a regular at one of my other pre Pandemic jobs... so I told security at my job about her. I also reported this racial profiling to the branch manager and PPB (Portland Police Bureau) after I arrived home. I lived in Southwest Portland in downtown before August 2007,... and have been to most of the Wells Fargo Bank branches prior to 2012 when I stopped banking downtown. I was told by the branch manager that she wasn't going to be very racist.... because all the employees were going to be doing diversity training in the following month. The PPB officer I talked to said... he would put the very racist bank manager's quotes in his report. I was told the branch manager's name is Luana. Her last name starts with a "T."

There are tellers on the main floor and you can get every service that you would expect at any Wells Fargo branch.

Banker helped me activate an extra percentage on cash back. Helped me set up an IRA account and refinance a small loan which reduced the percentage rate on the loan by more than half! Opps this was for the branch on Columbia St.

They treat their employees poorly. Not to mention all the other underhanded stuff they have their talons in.

Great museum except... it is in the lobby of an office building so people are walking around and talking making it challenging to read and focus. I prefer quiet so I can learn.

The Wells Fargo Museum is FREE to visit. It is a small but very interesting museum. The historical items and personalised stories are interesting. There are some very reasonably piriced souvenirs available for purchase. The stage coach on display is original, I could not believe that 9 passengers could be seated in the interior space. Have some fun and have your photograph taken in front of the stage coach, it will be printed while you wait.

I happened to visit the Museum by chance, and it's been a highlight of my visit to Portland. There are informative and fascinating displays for all ages. Some nice souvenirs for purchase and free stuff for kids. Interactive opportunities that are fun. And I learned that ‘riding shotgun', unlike today, was serious business during the stagecoach days. Museum Manager Steve Greenwood and his colleague Natalie Fund were highly knowledgeable and very engaging. Go there! And you can learn about other Wells Fargo Museums in other cities.

What a fun collection from the past. Pony express, wow. What an interesting place. Take the kids, the attraction is free. Very entertaining and educational.
