Made an account and it was a good experience, got in and out quickly because of the knowledgeable and friendly staff.

I was told by my then boss (he's an immigrant from an African country... he's also an American who is a Black man) that he was asked to leave this Wells Fargo Bank branch or location because of his thick accent. I went to admonish the staff inside. I told the bank manager that even if,... " She isn't very racist... she needs to be nicer to Black people... even if they speak English with an accent." I was told by the bank teller "Did I have an account?" I replied,... "My boss sent me to make deposits at the bank... so,... yes I had an account." She replied,... "That only customers whose name appears on the withdrawal receipt were allowed inside that specific branch." I told her,... "That if she didn't stop sounding very racist... I would take my business elsewhere." I was told by the security guard.... that the bank manager wanted me out. I told the security guard... "I'm not the one that is the troublemaker." The bank manager is a regular at one of my other pre Pandemic jobs... so I told security at my job about her. I also reported this racial profiling to the branch manager and PPB (Portland Police Bureau) after I arrived home. I lived in Southwest Portland in downtown before August 2007,... and have been to most of the Wells Fargo Bank branches prior to 2012 when I stopped banking downtown. I was told by the branch manager that she wasn't going to be very racist.... because all the employees were going to be doing diversity training in the following month. The PPB officer I talked to said... he would put the very racist bank manager's quotes in his report. I was told the branch manager's name is Luana. Her last name starts with a "T."

Terrible customer service, everyone looked like they absolutely hated their jobs...the manager(Sara?) was super rude and unprofessional. The only smiling face going on in the room was from the banker.

With people waiting in line for consulting the person in the office talks about restaurants with the costomer instead doing faster his job

The customer service is here is extremely lacking. Let's be honest. It just plain sucks. I was told I'd have to sit down with an account manager to change something minor on my account. I went in on a Friday and no one was able to do it so they told me they'd call me first thing on Monday to set up an appnt. They even verified my phone number. A couple of weeks later and I still haven't heard from them. I was just in there now, the bank was empty, I could see four account managers at their desks, only one of which was helping a customer, and I was told someone would be right with me. Fifteen minutes later, still no acknowledgment, so I got up and left. I've hated having WF as my bank for quite a while now, and this has been the final straw. Thank you for finally pushing me to find a new bank/credit union to transfer all of my accounts to!! I will be at a new bank by next week. Thanks again!

This is a pretty cool building. I like the way it fits into the Portland skyline.

Stopped here after work to deposit my big bonus check into an account I've had for years. I was admonished that because it was after four on Wednesday that the funds would not be available until Friday. I say admonished because the vibe I got seemed to imply that I was some kind of felonious hobo trying to pull a fast one. I had no intention of pulling the money out right after I put it in. However, in this day and age, I think it's total B.S. that the money isn't available right away. Hell, whenever I use my debit card, I can check my balance on-line five minutes later and see the transaction. Does Wells Fargo use the Pony Express to fetch the cash from the banks that cut me checks? Otherwise, I don't know why those transactions take days when others take seconds. Made me grouchy.

Find a small bank where they care whether you remain a customer...

With four account managers (people at desks) and one branch manager. You'd think they would be zipping through people like no other. At my bank, there will be a line of five people and one accounts manager and I'd be out of there before I got annoyed with the wait. It all started with my needing to write an affidavit for my friend that needed to be notarized. I was told to go to a Wells Fargo to have it done for free. I sat for 1.5 hours as I watched the branch manager chit chatting with 2 guys not even about banking and another person talking about how to get to Burnside. When it was finally my turn, the lady said that she couldn't get it notarized the way it was written and told me to correct it and come back tomorrow. 1.5 hours wasted. Thanks. So I come back the next day and she's nice enough, but when she asks for my bank card and ID, she found out I was with another bank. She got mad and asked, "Why aren't you banking with us?" and "Who told you to come here?" After all that, she was sighing and very obviously acted annoyed and refused to look at me the rest of the time I was sitting at her desk. EXCUSE ME? Now this is a new reason why I will never bank here if the previous wait wasn't a reason enough. Rule #1 of customer service. Do not drive away a potential customer with your assumptions and rude manner. Maybe I would've started if she was nice, but now I definitely never will. I thought I was having a Pretty Woman shopping experience. I felt like pulling out all my accounts and say this is what you are missing out on and just so you know I will make sure no one I know will ever bank with you because I would not want to put them through your kind of treatment. But, of course, that's left for the big screen...
