Just two things wrong with Wallace Books small independent bookstore ambiance. No fireplace or old British person. However, since this is America, and their nearly dangerous number of books, those things are forgiven.

In the landscape of Portland over the last few years there has been so much negativity. Leave that negativity at home and go to Wallace Books. Get lost in this jammed packed house full of books. This place is so uniquely Portland that it just personifies our Portland way. Portland is that big city that is not that big. This book store is a big book store that is not that big. Just Go check it out.

Insanely good bookstore. A labyrinth of first-rate editions and an abundance of books you didn’t even know you wanted. Great literary sections with specific authors in crates and great Pacific Northwest sections as well as section on Native Americans. Didn’t even get to venture into the children’s-book area but it’s an entire room!
