Very disappointed. Be careful. refused a return with a receipt as it was a special order. The salesperson was rude and condescending, sent me home for the receipt rather that looking it up wasting my whole afternoon and out $70.00.

Winks is the best hardware store in the city. 5 stars every time but once, and I write this only so Winks can know and improve: i needed one stainless steel screw for a piece of hardware they sell. I went in to buy it, grabbed the door hardware sample they have on display and was able to point to the exact screw i needed. But for some reason they refused to back it out even the tiniest bit to match the screw. It was very weird and unusual for such an awesome and helpful store. They sold me to wrong screw three times that week. I eventually had the right diameter and threading but still too long and had to hacksaw it down at home to make it fit.By far the best hardware store in the city in terms of selection (for what they sell), quality, knowledge, and customer service. Just that one weird experience that felt like I was in the twilight zone.

They have almost everything. Love the service and know how here. UPDATE! NOT! the same after covid. Counter help is terrible. The old guys must have retired. The tall guy is a straight-up thug with no knowledge and should never be around people.

Not only an impressively organized and well-stocked hardware store, it is very clean, dust is not allowed to settle, and shelf displays are orderly and attractive. The decorative items and household goods array are carefully curated and easily accessible. The plant buyer is exceptional. From Alocasia 'Hilo Beauty', and Sansevieria 'Mikado' to Actiniopterus australus (aka the Eyelash Fern) every plant is carefully selected from the common to the rare. The staff are helpful without being intrusive. I love hardware stores and really enjoy hunting for what I need by myself. Fortunately for me, the miscellaneous plumbing supplies are all tagged with full information and the items are arrayed in a well thought out imminently sensible order. I'll have to admit, I worked at a famous hardware store in Houston; Bering's Hardware, which is very similar to Wink's in feel and attitude. That is one reason that I was so pleased to find Wink's within walking distance to our new apartment in Goose Hollow.

I was trying to find a half inch threaded fastener at this store. I was told I could not be in that section of the store and needed to "take a number" after getting behind a counter. There were five or six staff standing around and only one customer. Very poor customer service.

I absolutely dig going into winks. They have what ya need and give killer advice. Super helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Went in to get some grease zerk fittings. Went to the counter, took a number and waited my turn. A guy called my number and I showed him what I wanted. He motioned for me to follow him and took me into the back where aisles of inventory are stocked. He checked my zerk fitting with a digital caliper and then compared it to the ones in inventory, found a compatible model, then went and found a nut to test them with to make sure they were the right ones. I left impressed with the amount of effort he used and knowing I had exactly the right parts. Pretty cool place!!

This is a "go to" spot for hard-find-items and higher quality than big box. Take a number, tell the clerk what you need, and BOOM DONE. They either have it or they don't, but you're not going to waste time wandering around figuring that out.

If you need one singular screw that no one else has in town. Winks will have it, help you find it and smile while doing it. Million dollar service for a .16 cent odd ball flat head bolt. Love this place.
