Comically over priced with many items in questionable condition. They used to offer reasonable deals given the state of the items they sold. However, something has changed over the last couple years where I'm not even sure there's still a charity being supported.

I like the concept of this second hand children's shop. You bring in a bag of donated children's items and receive $5 store credit. When I started going to Village Kids a few years ago, prices were reasonable for used items and a portion of your purchase went to one of three charities of your choice.
I now go less frequently given the toys and clothing are largely overpriced. For instance, I have purchased new sale items from Hanna Andersson online that were cheaper than moderate condition Hanna Andersson items at Village Kids. I have seen nike soccer shoes for almost $30, just a few dollars less than new. Inventory is bursting such that being in the shop is overwhelming, yet the prices are not reasonable (esp. for the condition) such that the items are not an incentive for me to stay and look around.
I have also found great deals before. Two winters ago, select pajamas were on sale for $4 a set, and I purchased several pieces in great condition. I don't know if deals like this continue as the prices for the quality of items have been too high for me to return with any frequency.
If the prices came down, I assume there would be a lot more turnover of inventory such that the shop would profit more and patrons could benefit more. I am a big advocate of reusing and recycling and secondhand and consignment shops. This shop, for me, used to be my go-to, but the prices now seem prohibitive for many who could really benefit from the concept.

Very disappointed in this shop. I was really excited to discover it because I assumed it was a consignment store and as a consumer I like to support businesses that connect and support their community. I also like to shop sustainably. I was willing to pay close to retail thinking families with children were getting a cut. But when I went in today to ask when they do consignment buying the gal at the counter said they are donation based. What!? What a huge profit margin!? I feel robbed and will not be shopping there again. As a community member and a mother I expect more from a children’s clothing small shop. At the very least cut your prices in half and give people a damn break on your free inventory hustle.

DO NOT SHOP HERE.While village kids may seem great in its “idea” and the message it is repeating to its customers , the store owners, and policies are outrageous. The store owners boast about how great it is that you’re helping out other people and the planet, making it appear as a consignment store, and as though you’re helping the people who have sold their gently used items to the store get a little bit of money back on those items while the store takes its stipend, it is NOT a consignment store. This store takes all profits, and all its items they sell are received as DONATIONS.Aside from all items being donated, they price many of their items (basically all the ones not broken or missing parts) AT COST or MORE EXPENSIVE than brand new at a regular store. When I brought this up to the owner, she claimed they “look up every item that comes in, and research the average price at which it is being sold, and cut that price in half before selling it. I notified her how false that claim was because I found at least 4 of the exact same toy my daughter had with her in her stroller today priced at more than twice the price of it brand new at target where it was JUST PURCHASED a week ago, and the items were in VERY used condition, at 2x the price of brand new unused. Insane. Aside from the items being used, as most places would have clean, gently used items, this store clearly doesn’t even bother to wash the donations they receive, as we found multiple items there, especially in the bib and onesie drawers with FOOD CRUSTED ON THEM! One of which we grabbed but my partner didn’t notice until it was being sold to us, and saw the STORE OWNER duck behind the curtain banner to scrape some off with her finger when she saw it too! Disgusting! Selling unlaundered items to their customers! During check out, the same store owner mentioned how if any of the items don’t work out we could “RETURN THEM WITHIN A WEEK FOR A REFUND.” My partner then paid what we THOUGHT was $18 for a small handful of items, which seemed about right for used, secondhand items. Upon looking at the receipt we got emailed to us,(because they use a tablet screen facing only them, and don’t show you the breakdown of your purchase or total cost, mumbling it only) we saw it was EIGHTY DOLLARS. The same amount we could pay for brand new items, of the same nature and number at any store around us. When I went back within FIFTEEN minutes to return the items for my “refund,” I was informed they “don’t offer refunds, but store credit on returns” which is NOT what they said while checking out. When I mentioned that I was told during purchase it was a refund not a store credit exchange for the return of items, the store owner claimed to “not know who helped me but it wasn’t her” mind you it was FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER. It wasn’t like there were a ton of other customers either and she couldn’t remember me, so she was trying to not take accountability for HER not properly informing customers of her policies. I will NEVER shop here again, and I vehemently suggest that you don’t either. Don’t waste your money. Also so they can’t claim I’m lying about their filthy unlaundered items they’re selling to their clients I’ve included two pictures of the item we purchased without realizing it had food crusted on it, as well as animal fur. I cant believe they wouldn’t refund items purchased less than thirty minutes prior to return. Replace the store with somewhere that actually cares about what they sell people, and somewhere that cares about the people they’re selling things to.

This is our favorite place to shop for our kids clothing. Love that it’s pre-worn/pre-loved and we’re giving clothes a second life. The selection is awesome too.

We love this secondhand store. The people who work there are very knowledgeable and helpful and can sometimes find things in the back that aren't out in front. They have a nice blend of clothing and toys and some books. There is also space upstairs for stuff for bigger kids, which can be hard to find the other secondhand stores, it is great to be in the village. Is there other little stores and places to eat. It's definitely part of a nice day in the village.

I love this place both because my kids’ clothes can get reused, and because we can buy used clothes instead of new. It’s better for the environment and more affordable. They also have toys and books - and we always find something fun to bring home.

I went here because we want to reduce our carbon footprint and would like to reuse items to reduce overall waste we are creating from raising small children. This store accepts clothing and toy donations from families with small children and sells it for premium profit. An undisclosed percentage of total sales goes towards an animal shelter in the Philippines. It’s not a 1:1 giving model for charities. I’m not sure that this store benefits local children or the local community (other than donating donated items that have been donated to the shop for free to discard them). For example: footed pajamas/onesies on SALE are listed for $7, non-sale $10. These are Carter’s pajamas that usually are sold $17 for a 2 pack at target. Every toy is listed around $14, regardless of wear. Amazon sells most of the items for equitable prices to what they’re listed at here, or less. If the goal is to save items from hitting the landfill, I would expect the prices to be reasonable for families with young children to purchase for re-use. Given the shop’s location, I assume the items are much cheaper than other designer stores in the area and perhaps that’s how it remains in business with its current business model.I think Goodwill might be a better stop since they employ folks who have difficulties being hired otherwise, driving employment in addition to being a non-profit.

This place is overpriced. There were Carter's toddler girls shirts for $6. You can buy them new for that price. I love buying kids resale for my kids but not here.

Small shop, small selection but the place is packed for being so small. I wouldn't go out of my way for it but it's nice that finds go to charity
