Nico was fantastic. He was friendly, competent, and efficient. Best customer service we’ve had out of any of the branches.

Nice enough but charged $8 to cash a $150 check drawn from their bank and didn't ask me if I was ok with that before cashing. $8 is more than any cash checking place I've been to

As a small business owner in Portland doing 100% of my business banking with Umpqua since 2005 I am beyond disappointed that Umpqua has left us all high and dry in regards to the CARES act Paycheck Protection Program. Suspended taking applications they day they opened (April 4th) and here we are, ten days later and NOTHING other that Umpqua has removed the April 4th "Update" to their PPP page out of a sense of shame? Way to shaft your most loyal customers in our time of need.

Can't say enough about my amazing customer service from both Megan and Ben at this branch! Thank you both for going above and beyond.

Last year I decided to open a safe deposit box and a savings account here @ Umpqua on Lombard, into which I deposited $200. I needed a safe place to store some of my wife's jewelry as well as financial and real estate documents, and wanted to get a feel for this bank and branch before closing up my accounts at other, large banks and moving them all here. I'm glad I waited. Though I was told there was no minimum balance on my new savings account, after they deducted the $35 annual rental fee for the safe deposit box, I learned 5 months after the fact that I was being charged $3/month as a service fee because my account had dipped below a minimum balance. Yes, I know I should have looked at my monthly statements, but the account only had $200 in it (or so I thought) so I figured, what am I really looking at? The pathetic interest rate on my account? I went in to the branch to get some answers, and the incredibly snooty gentleman 'helping me' looked down his nose at me and told me I "didn't have enough funds with the bank to waive the service fee." It was very belittling and, honestly, I wanted to cause a scene. But I didn't. Immediately, I told him I wanted to close my accounts and remove my items from my safe deposit box. During the process, I asked how much of the annual rental fee would be returned to me, pro-rated, and he informed me it was non-refundable. Now, we're talking $35 for a year. Not a lot of money. But after his snooty behavior and belittling attitude, I wanted every dime that I had coming to me back in my pocket. At first I accepted his 'non-refundable' statement as fact, but as he's counting out the $150 in cash, what was left of the $200 I had originally deposited, I asked to see the paperwork. He handed it to me, and I read it line by line. There was no mention of this being non-refundable. He then told me, "it's really more of a policy." He then offered to return $15 of the service fees back to me instead of pro-rating the safe deposit box fee, which would be $25. So I asked to speak to a manager. An older blond woman came from her desk, looking already-annoyed that I dared to ask to speak to her and interrupt her conversation with her friend. When I explained the situation, she laughed at me and said "we're really doing this over $10?" Calmly, I ask her as a banking institution, shouldn't they be concerned about getting the financial figures correct? Not just 'close'? She laughed and said, "whatever" and returned to her very important conversation with her friend, while quietly looking at me a snickering. Amazingly degrading service, with even worse treatment. While I don't agree with large swaths of their business practices, I've never experienced this kind of half-assed, piss poor service from the 'too big to fail' banks I've always used. I tried to bring my business here, but they couldn't even manage not to screw up with a $200 savings account. Avoid Umpqua. They apparently don't want your business.

Michelle is absolutely amazing she helped us with her mortgage and I really can't thank her enough! Incredibly organized and easy to work with. We Felt completely confident with the entire process and she was attentive the whole time and even when we complicated things she made them feel easy. We now live right in the neighborhood and intend to continue banking there for as long as we live in our home. which we for see is a very long time did I mention, she also lives in the neighborhood! OK now I have to talk about Carlos, he has to be the most computer savvy personal banker that I have ever met. I feel like I learned something about my own tech every time I'm there and banking has become increasingly easier which is only a bummer because I don't have to go and hang out with them as much, but I totally still will!

I have bank at Umpqua since it merged with sterling. I have received amazing customer service and I feel at ease when dealing with complex financial issues. I will continue to bank with there even if I move far from a convenient branch.

I closed my account a while back due to poor service at this branch. I won't go into it because it seemed like there was a lot of turnover at the time and I'm sure the environment there wasn't great for the employees. I did keep my Umpqua credit card which was a mistake. I am being charged a membership fee even though many of the benefits I was originally offered have been stripped from the account over time. I can't use my rewards points for anything of value. Offerings are down to things like a subscription to Redbook, discount mall jewelry & waterproof speakers... I can't even get cash back due to some change they made in January. For a few weeks I was only told there was a "known error". Turns out they just don't offer it anymore and didn't tell the various reps I spoke with. So disappointed.
