I took my dog to this groomer for some basic service. Overall, I do not recommend. She did come out nice and clean, but the trim job was not well done. I can easily see the marks where the razor was applied. It was not all smoothed out and blended. insofar as service goes, I have seen multiple reviews saying that she was rude. I do not think that she was rude, instead, it seemed to me, like she was treating me, as though I was a person that randomly met her rather than a client. There is a certain kind of professional courtesy that we expect from businesses, she did not seem to display that courtesy. Overall, I would not suggest taking a dog there that needs a sharp cut. A good cleaning - definitely. But, I will not return again. I can get a better cut for the same, or lesser, price.

My partner and I boarded our three miniature schnauzers with Steffie for 10 days over the Thanksgiving holiday. Steffie was extremely accommodating with arranging pick up and drop off, and was even available on short notice. While our dogs were with her she provided a groom as well and she did a great job. Steffie is very transparent about the expectations she has of the dogs she cares for, which as a pet owner put me at ease knowing how seriously she takes her business. She provided plenty of photos and updates and our dogs loved their time with her. We would book with Steffie again in a heartbeat.

Picked Stephanie’s place for boarding my chihuahua rescue. Chose it because my dog hates big dogs. Stephanie’s place is very small and funky and her own dogs are ridiculously sweet. The negative reviews left by people angry over her breed restrictions are unfair. Stephanie is a small dog person, and she states that right up front. Her description on Rover matched the reality of the place. Yes she’s eccentric- like an old school Portlander hippie. I was nice to her and she was nice to me. I’ll be bringing my little guy back to party with the other little guys again!

Please do not bring your dogs to Steffies House. It is not a safe or healthy place for your pets. We brought our puppy there once for a nail trim because we live nearby. Though Steffie did a fine job with the nail trimming, she was rude when we booked the appointment and the grooming space did not seem optional or professional. We referred to it from there on out as Steffies House of Horrors and vowed never to return. However, we were forced to do so this week when we found two dogs running around in our front yard. Thanks to the Home Again service, we were able to connect with the dogs’ owners, who were shocked to learn that their dogs were not at the day care where they’d left them that morning. Yes, you guessed it: Steffies House. The two dogs had chewed through the fence and escaped and were now running through the neighborhood, terrified. When we returned the dogs to Steffies House, she took a long time to open the door and had no idea that they were even gone. Accidents happen, and dogs can panic when they are stressed or in an unusual place. However, based on my two experiences with Steffies House, I would encourage caring pet owners to take their business elsewhere. It isn't worth the risk.

I boarded my older Yorkie with Steffie and it was wonderful. He tends to have an attitude and stresses whenever I leave him, but Steffie took great care of him and he seemed in high spirits when I picked him up. Highly recommend her for boarding your small pups!

I took my blind little shih tzu here almost 5 years ago. He is the sweetest calmest little creature who can get scared in new environments, but nothing that a good groomer can’t soothe with a soft touch and calm voice…I still can’t forget how horrible this experience was—it was the worst haircut of his life! I’m sure she mishandled him every step of the way from the red marks left on his skin. I STILL can’t forget how awful of an experience it was now that I am looking for a new groomer after giving my dog to my mom to care for a few years. The horror so much so compelled me to write a review after all these years.If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Everything that the negative reviews say are true from her rude nippy dogs to the unprofessionalism to the dark disgusting basement space. I highly doubt this woman has any actual training in dog grooming. Please heed the advice of other reviews and do not leave your dog here alone!!!Lastly, the way the business owner bullies people online who leave negative reviews is perhaps even more disturbing than the bad grooming… I am not sure. The audacity to ban “bully breeds” while being a bully herself is actually shocking. I’m sure I will be harassed on here too lol. I hope no other doggies have the horrible experience my dog had here and I hope no other dogs will be traumatized by this “groomer.”Edit (2 hours later): See below the unprofessional and bullying response from the owner. This is the type of response that customers get who raise very valid concerns over the treatment of their dogs. Don’t take your dog here and don’t give this woman your money or time.

The lady who answered the phone is extremely rude and hung up on me. I was trying to ask questions so I would be comfortable in taking my dog somewhere new and this lady was extremely rude to me and then just hung up on me. I will never go to this company ever.

Took my 8 mo. old golden doodle in for a groom and nail trim and Steffie did a great job. This dude is a little pain sometimes but the groomer managed to check all the boxes in a timely manner at a very high quality. Would recommend!

I can’t stress enough how terrible this groomer is... as I’m sure you can already tell by looking at the pictures. I literally could have paid a crack head $2 and they would have done a better job. It’s obvious just by looking at her responses to her reviews that she is a truly awful business owner and person. It’s extremely sad and cruel what she does to these adorable little pups. What a pathetic human being.

We didn’t visit for pet services at first. But we were considering. This person operates out of their home and they have a barn loft for rent. We just went to look at it and now we have to decide if we want to report her for discrimination. Her questions about my partner’s economic status and our marital status were totally inappropriate. She’s obviously trying to promote her background credit checks as so complex she’s using that to try and pick and choose who she rents to. We could’ve easily met her economic credit report conditions. We could tell it was just a way for her to discriminate. She was very clumsy about hiding that fact. She even started making things up. Like I would need to have $500,000 in my bank account to qualify for her ‘apartment’. Which was a complete dump by the way.Maybe she didn’t think she was dealing with intelligent people? Even though we told her we operate a business two blocks from her. And the rental space? A complete dump. Cracked windows, dirty carpet, a destroyed floor and not even clean. We were so disappointed with how unprofessional she was we also decided we wouldn’t trust our dog with her.
