I ordered a small arrangement for an elopement ceremony I did with my partner. The colors were as discussed but I felt like it looked. Thrown together- I had to fix the ribbon holding it together. I’ve bought flowers from here before and really liked them but I spent more money on this bouquet than I did for that larger one and felt disappointed this time. I never want to not recommend a small business but I believe in transparency, too and $100 is not what I would have paid for what I got :/

We’ve been going to starflower for our personal needs for years so we knew they would do an amazing job on our wedding, but they went above and beyond our vision. We had so many people at our wedding stop us to talk about the florals. They remain our favorite florists in Portland!

Amazing arrangements..I live in portland maine, I wanted to send flowers to a family member in potland or...not only did they take the time to learn about myself and the recipient..they made sure to personally send me a text with a picture of the delivery since I couldn't do it myself. That's the kind of customer service you never forget. Thank you!

I had a very disappointing experience with Starflower. I signed up for an expensive floral arrangement class at 8:30am on a Tuesday, but the teacher didn't show up and was unreachable. Very inconvenient and frustrating. She later emailed, saying she got the dates wrong, and then we never heard from her again. I had to contact the shop several days later to try to get a refund or to discuss rescheduling. Based on the lack of customer service, disorganization, and poor communication, I would not recommend this business, or at least their classes for the cost.

We chose Starflower to do our wedding florals and they absolutely understood the assignment, over delivered, and left us with arrangements and beauty that us and our guests will never forget.
We reached out about a year out from our wedding and gave Jill a very rough idea of the colors we wanted and generally just told her “spring meadows”. We provided some pictures to reference and left her and her team to do what they thought would be best for our venue space. Jill was quick to respond to any questions we had and took the time out of her schedule to walk through our venue multiple times to make sure everything would work on the big day.
We arrived at our venue at 8 AM and so did Jill and the Starflower team and from the moment they started bringing in flowers me and my wife had tears of joy fill our eyes, and they hadn’t even started putting a lot of the pieces together yet! They had a lot of flowers to hang and fill the venue with and between all of them they were so quick and efficient, it was incredible to watch them work and see it all come together with little to no hiccups at all.
Starflower gave us entirely unique floral decorations for our wedding that made the venue feel straight up magical. Every single guest that walked in commented and complimented the flowers, it made the space feel so springy and fresh and I just couldn’t believe that this was for us.
I wish I could have a wedding every year with Starflower just to see what they come up with. I can’t recommend them enough and I will be enjoying the pictures of our wedding day for years to come largely thanks to the work they did to make our day special.

Update: Shop actually called me and helped me replace the flowers and they are very sweet and fast with their reply. As I said before not the shops fault for the delivery and would 100% recommend them and will come back here to purchase flowers. so I ordered two different bouquets with star flower and decided to try a new shop because their selection looks amazing and unique. so I went ahead and ordered for delivery and I'm assuming it was during delivery but on both bouquets there were damaged flowers some completely fell off and some of the flowers looked in bad shape. also water had spilled out and wet the box they were in. I've reached out hopefully at the very least they are paying attention to who's delivering because they aren't being careful. also for $250 and $150 I was hoping for a little better service.

One of the most timeless yet unique florists around. They have their own style and an incredibly well crafted visual brand. From tarot cards to stash boxes, local ceramics to luscious Baroque arrangements, Starflower is nothing if not colorful and inviting. A win every time. The owner is wonderful and the staff are very talented. Treat yourself to a hand-tied market bouquet and a nourishing, witchy ambiance.

We booked Starflower for our wedding and couldn't be happier with the result. The team created a lush hanging arrangement that hung above our heads at the reception. It was stunning and we got compliments on it throughout the evening. Jill was a pleasure to work with and we knew that she had the artistic vision we were looking for from our first conversation with her almost a year ago.

I love Starflower!!! They have the most lovely and unique selection of flowers. They even have the option to make your own bouquet! Their shop is so dreamy & beautiful, and is such a vibe. Best place in Portland to order flowers from! I highly recommend.

Starflower made my elopement bouquet and it was everything I dreamed of and more. Not only are they incredible at what they do, but the team there are friendly and have amazing service. I was not someone that had a specific vision in mind but knew a couple things I wanted/didn’t want. They helped me make a decision without making me feel silly that I didn’t know everything I wanted. In fact, they celebrated that they could be creative. My bouquet was incredible and it is a highlight from my wedding day. I’m thankful for them and would recommend them!

Delightful and inspiring! A beautiful shop with gorgeous unique flowers that you can even buy by the stem to make your own bundle or arrangement. Also houseplants, pretty colored taper candles, vases/tumblers, coffee table books. I received a floral lesson as a gift and it was a great experience — I learned a lot and it was inspiring and creative. A really refreshing, lovely, curated, thoughtful shop!
