The place is falling apart. This once great hotel hasn't seen serious maintenance in many years, and it shows. If you have a choice, stay anywhere but here.Rooms: The rooms need a lot of work. There were several folds in the carpet due to stretching as well as cracks in the sheetrock. Also, my room smelled like stale cigarettes. Consider bringing your own toilet paper, because there might not be any in your room...that happened to a colleague.

Too bad this hotel couldn’t be clean and well maintained, it could be a nice place. Room was large and had a separate eating/lounge area. It smelled like cigarettes (and some sort of fragranced cover-up) still from the good ole days. I felt really gross here, cleanliness definitely lacking. Our dog found a smashed egg (shell and all) in the corner behind a couch, totally visible without much effort. Must’ve been there a long, long time. Everything looked dirty. Paid $200 including taxes for one night. Bummer.

To my knowledge these do not serve breakfast!

We booked a two night stay here on a whim because the location was perfect for our needs and the price was reasonable. This hotel is a time capsule. What I imagine was a social hub and bustling go-to spot in its heyday, is now just a neglected gem in disrepair. There is a restaurant, bar and numerous conference rooms that now wear the heavy cloak of neglect, paired with a sheen of years of cigarette smoke and grime settling into every nook and cranny. The original fixtures would be so charming if they were maintained, but instead the aging decor serves as a reminder that this place is in need of a major facelift. Our room was spacious with a king sized bed and separate living area with a tv and fold out couch, as well as a vanity separate from the bathroom. I know that the very nature of a hotel room is that you are sharing a room with the strangers who came before you and those who will come after you, but I like to be given the illusion that it is a clean space and this was not that. The sink and toilet drained slow, none of the ice machines worked (though I'm not sure how clean that ice would be anyway) and while the bed slept comfortably, the bedspread had obvious cigarette burns, marker stains and I'm sure a lot of other, more invisible stains that I don't want to think about. I found myself jealous of my toddler who slept in her clean and comfy pack-n-play that we brought from home. This place is a vintage classic that deserves more than to be buried under the weight of its own decline. We won't be back until it undergoes a substantial transformation and I highly recommend staying at one of the newer hotels in the area.

Shilo was a very nice surprise. It was clean, inexpensive ($115 2 queens w/TV area that was separate, microwave, and mini fridge), close to PDX, has an on-site restaurant and bar (closes @ 11pm). There was plenty of parking and the place itself was huge! Had several large conference rooms, a piano in the hallway, a pool, workout room, and free wifi. The hallways were endless-see photo. The place was much bigger than it looks. I'd stay there again in a quick minute!Rooms: Big and clean. Bath tub in bathroom with attached shower. Has a desk with a pen and scratch paper, table lamps w/plug-ins on their base, television with remote, microwave, mini fridge, coffee and coffee maker, iron with an ironing board, an alarm clock, land line, mirrors galore, dressers, and a frosted glass partician that separates the eating/work space from the beds. The rooms connect to the room next door if your party is large. Ice maker (free) and vending machines down the hall.Food & drinks: Had a cocktail in the bar. It was a good one, but it was last call (I had arrived 10 minutes before it closed). The price was fair. I did not eat anything. There are 4 or 5 video poker machines in the bar area.Noteworthy details: For being dated, this place was awesome. It's well maintained and really clean with no funky odors.

Ladies at the front desk on Sunday AM bent over backwards to help. They were out of quarters, so they dug through their purses to get me quarters so I could do laundry. They went the extra mile for me.

The rooms were very outdated and dirty, the customer service was very good though, a young lady at the front desk swapped my room and made sure the new one didnt have mold. She was very kind.

Friendly staff and comfortable rooms… great rest stop for travel… rooms include mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot and air conditioning… some rooms have suits with a small living room and dining table… there is ice avalanche… pool, hot tub, gym and bar also available… all food delivery apps deliver here and there’s a variety to choose from… does need some updates and I’d suggest definitely bringing your own TP (unless you like grade school tissue paper)… surprisingly quiet being so close to airport… mobility accessible and service animal friendly…otherwise pretty decent.

Clean rooms, great staff, good secure location with ample security. I stay here 35-50 times a year between all locations, never had a problem. You can rest here and not have to worry about your truck or your tools. Pool, hot tub and sauna are a bonus. This is the only Portland hotel I stay at.

Not sure if I should blame shilo inn or the bartender for the poor experience at the bar by the older guy who granted can flip a cup around but also had the worst customer service I’ve ever had from a bartender and being a bartender myself I was more than disappointed. It is a bartenders job to create the atmosphere and ensure guests have a good experience. The bartender greeted us all in the bar by grabbing a heavy bar chair that was left by someone playing a machine there and dragging it making a horrible loud noise and putting it back at the bar. Then around into the bar to slam his money bag down and from there even after tipping him well his service did not give one bit of “I can’t wait to go back there” feelings. I’m disheartened because had he known the amount of volunteer work the people he was serving do he may have given his best self so that’s where I’m wondering if the hotel could have communicated with their staff better to ensure our visit was known.. there were only a few employees over the weekend they did amazing and worked very well together given how many guests were visiting which would be the only reason I would dine there again. I know I could never stand to watch that bartender be so rude to guests again and would hope this review gets noticed so he checks his attitude. Being able to do tricks doesn’t mean in any way that you are a good bartender. It’s how you treat people that matters and the tricks would have worked better for him had his personality matched. I just think when you are in the service industry you gotta think about how you would want your experience to be?

It was cheap and fairly clean. Staff is helpful and friendly. However the building is completely run down and lacking any maintenance. There is broken stuff everywhere. The pool was grungy and ice cold. The hot tub, spa, steam room, and exercise room were all out of order and covered by danger tape. I discovered in the morning that our door doesn’t even latch. It can just be pushed open.
