Their service sucks. No one wants to help customers. They'd rather chit chat with each other and socialize than provide any help or service. Not a one time instance either. I've asked for help and was told "I'm not doing that". I asked for help on a separate trip "I can't find xxxx item I just came from the aisle I thought I would be in can you help me?". Then brashly told "It should be there". Find employees that value the customers that support your business.

They refuse entry at least 15 min before the store says it does. Reaaaaaally annoying after a long day of moving and just needing TOILET PAPER. Never seen that happen before

Safeway is okay put the two African-American twin brothers that manage Safeway they are very mean very rude and they always think I'm a homeless person and they kept accusing me stealing and they always made me wait for like up to an hour to turn in my cans and bottles no matter what time of the day it was and I will suggest a work on their management and stop being so discriminating honestly

employees do a great job but the prices here are comparable to whole foods. If you come after 10pm they have all the self checkouts closed and 2 registers open maximum. This place is a joke for a downtown grocery store

Make sure you check your receipts ESPECIALLY if you use a card... They will steal more than your total was supposed to be... Zero actual cashiers too.. shoulda just stole the food

When I called your store last night and spoke to customer service, the gentleman that answered the phone on 615 2024 at 9:45 at night when I asked him a question he said no we don’t know we don’t know we don’t and then hung up on me we don’t carry and hang up on me and then a few minutes later I called back and asked him his name and he asked me what I needed his name for and I told him because you were very rude and not very professional on the phone and he hung up my pace a second time that’s what you let your employees do treat customers like garbage over the phone not acceptable. I will be calling corporate. I will not shop district Hawthorne all my life never been treated like that. He thought he was, but I’m not letting this go.

Morning visits to my community store is just so calming and every employee is oh so helpful and friendly. I only shop because of the app rewards and the delicious deli foods and the Starbucks baristas always makes drinks correct.

Why is the red head woman still employed at this Safeway? She is by far one of the most hostile and disrespectful employees my family has ever encountered. Open and loud arguments with customers, disagreements with employees that should be in private, and just overall bad customer service. And if you look through other reviews… she keeps coming up in complaints.

The worst customer service ever. 85% of people working here hate their lives. It's Monday 8/10 and you had an old, short, stumpy, bald, black man that is a racist managing the store. The self checkout was completely shut down for some reason. Lines were 10 minutes long. Everyone in line was being patient and friendly, but the this guy was being rude and frustrated with the situation he created. I'm just trying to get the 5 dollar digital coupon to work and they make me step out of line. He won't even let me speak and then cuts me off and calls me a cracker. When I ask what did you say mfer? He has security remove me. The cashier tries to tell him she will help me but he insists I have to go. I call him the racist he is on the way out. Been shopping here for over 3 years and I've had several other issues. The white, red hair lady is obnoxious as can be. The Asian lady at the deli looks at me like she wants to kill me. And I'm a clean and housed individual. Didn't steal anything. Just trying to pay for 2 items and leave. I will never shop here again. They seriously hate life and are miserable people. They deserve the trash that frequents their store.

I think this is going to be the first negative review I've ever given. Good morning shift seems to be pretty cool. Meats, Seafood, fruits and vegetables tended to very well and fresh. Now, on the stock side , it leaves a little to be desired because they're normally out of stock of whatever it is you're looking for or whatever they had their that was in the sales paper isn't the right thing, might be the same company but wrong thing. (Up to here I could have gone with three or four stars.)
But let's now go to the reason that I went with one.: The Closing Shift's young petite blonde haired manager whose name I don't know because I keep my distance from hurt because she just handles the closing situation as Rudely as can be. I understand everybody wants to go home and get that. But maybe she should be somebody that she come out and help people find what it is they're looking for or maybe ask people on the way in let me see your shopping list this is on this house this is on that don't give me the numbers right there if they're coming in close to closing time. But yelling and screaming at an elderly couple is not cool. And I've seen her do this on two occasions and would have seen more but that turned me away from the night shift so I just gone back again. Now if she's in a management positions then she should learn to manage a little bit better. If she doesn't like dealing with customers or can't deal with customers without being rudely then why is she in a customer service guided industry???

What’s up with the late night manager he’s ALWAYS on his phone even walked away from me once when I had a question because he was too busy on his phone, while he was on the clock. It’s the black guy with glasses. Literally ALWAYS on his phone.
