My favorite spot to browse antiques in Portland! It feels like a hidden gem, with just the right balance of display and potential for rummaging. They are always so lovely and knowledgeable, and really went above and beyond for our furniture delivery. It’s tough for a collector to give up the dirt on a favorite spot, but I really want this family business to thrive. Long live R. Spencer Antiques!

Awesome service! Truely a very kind family who is extremely knowledgable about the pieces they sell. Definately worth a stop. We couldnt be happier with the cedar chest and baristers bookshelf we got.

Really great family business with high quality consignment/estate furniture! Will helped us while we were at the shop and for the pieces we were interested in he gave us a really nice history and showed us all the different functionality of the pieces. Pricing and service was incredible.

Simply the best antique store in Portland. We find wonderful things every time we go. The prices are reasonable. And the staff truly know their stuff. Definitely make time to visit!

Great selection of antique glass here at reasonable prices! Staff were also very helpful- I went to purchase a glass which had a chip I didn't catch, the cashier pointed this out, fetched the identical unchipped piece for me to purchase and gave me the chipped one for free piece for free! Professional packaging aswell on checkout

I was in Spencer's today to look at a chest that my mother had seen. The shop is lovely and packed with really cool vintage and antique items. There was a set of dinner plates with a series of illustrated models wearing art deco era dress designs. They were gorgeous. Then there were several iron work outdoor chairs. They were in great shape and looked old and cool. The proprietor was so helpful and friendly. There prices were reasonable. It was great to see their dragon's horde of antiques, large and small. I look forward to browsing through that trove many more times!

They have a lot of cool stuff, a lot of it broken or missing something, but priced way too high. Plus, it was very uncomfortable listening to the family that run this place fight with each other.

R. Spencer Antiques is a lovely store! I found a wonderful tile from them when I visited Portland and did not end up purchasing it then, but later when I reached out email they were kind of enough to track it down for me, let me pay over PayPal, and ship it to my home. It was such nice customer service.

When my Dad died, I was left with his beautiful and very much treasured antiques. I was referred to Spencer's Antiques and little did I know how pivotal they would be in everything. They purchased items for their store and very quickly had them up on social media for sale. You could tell from the write up that they treasured them as much as my late father had-- it made me so happy. In addition, they provided much needed guidance based on their over 50 years of experience on how to honor my Dad's remaining antiques. Several were in disrepair but still quite beautiful and they helped me find the right people for those too! They became a trusted advisor in this process and I would work with them again in a heartbeat. In such a difficult time, I found a company that treated these antiques as old friends and brought integrity and kindness in a difficult time.

R. Spencer Antiques came down to Salem to purchase my parents 100 year old Luce Dining Room set, with 5 chairs, side board, mirror buffet, table with two leaves. They came down prepared to respect the furniture with an enclosed u-haul, moving pads, tie downs, and tools (if necessary). They recognized the value and quality of the furnishings they were about to receive. Treating this quality of furniture is important, as it isn't just some random thing to store old paint cans on in the outside rain. Their knowledge and expertise made it very easy to work with them and I highly recommend them for your antique needs either through purchasing or by selling. R. Spencer Antiques made me happy that my mom's beloved set was going to someone who respected the quality! I recommend R. Spencer Antiques.
