I was surprised how rough they were with my elderly cat :( She's never needed to be burrito wrapped for a physical exam before, and I could hear her wheezing with how tight the blanket was on her neck. It was our first ever visit, but I got home and immediately contacted a different clinic to continue her care. I was on the waitlist here for 3 months, and they have great reviews, but I can't in good conscience put my cat through that again. I've never seen her be so shaken by a vet visit. Really bummed - it was not at all what I was expecting!

One of the best, most responsive vets imaginable. Easy to make an appointment, online or by phone, and as a way to nurture the relationship, said we could stop by any time for a treat for our pooch.
Dr. Castle was extremely helpful in getting to our Molly's problems, providing meds and suggesting things for us to do to help our dog stay healthy. Vet assistant and reception were wonderful as well, having obvious connection to animals.
An unqualified five stars for anyone looking for a vet.

This clinic has provided great care both to our Corgi and my MIL's ailing old cat. They have kept the animals' comfort at the forefront. They are forthcoming and clear with costs and prognosis. I would recommend them to anyone.

I have not had services here. However, I recently briefly visited due to my line of work and I was pleased with what I saw. It was clean and calm. It didn’t smell bad or even like cleaners. It was just pleasant. I am looking for a new vet and even though I live in Vancouver, I am absolutely willing to make the journey to have my pets seen here. So many times I’ve entered a vet clinic and the smell of fear is in the air. Not here. This place is so calm.

Switched here from a chain vet and loving it. Dr Castle gave us great advice and care for our dog when he got a slight injury, and prices for the visit and medication were reasonable. I'm very pleased, only coming back here from now on.

I like the small business aspect of Portland Animal Clinic. It's got a cozy, safe vibe. Also the staff is very friendly.

Very kind and gentle staff, they really care about your pet. Dr Castle is always professional and answers questions over the phone. They have much better prices than other clinics in the area.

I started using this clinic several years ago when I lived downtown Portland simply because it was near my home. But three years ago I moved 20 miles away and, while there are clinics near my new home, it's worth the drive to continue my pet care at this clinic. Dr. Castle and her team are professional and kind and helpful. There have been times when they've gone out of their way to see one of my cats last-minute due to an emerging concern. Dr. Castle is always patient and thorough with my many questions. And their prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this clinic.

The vet was very caring and explained everything thoroughly. They took the time to answer any questions. The vet tech was also very caring and compassionate. Making appointments and getting medications is very easy. It's a very professional and compassionate clinic. I feel like every member of the staff cares about my cat's wellbeing.
